When a tire is manufactured, it is built from a long strip of rubber that is fitted into a mold. The heaviest part of the tire will be where the two ends of the rubber strip overlap, which is where they put the yellow dot on the tire. The opposite side of the tire gets the red dot. Regardless of how many miles are on a tire, the natural out-of-balance of a tire never changes.
When you work in an MC tire shop, you have plenty of time to try and test stuff. Balance of raw wheels, rotating a tire on a wheel to improve balance, balancing in both directions, finding the centerline of balance, shaving tires to be perfectly round when mounted, reprofiling tires, etc. We even put a thick chalk line on a tube, put it in a tire, ran the tire hard, and then pulled the tire and tube to see how much the chalk/tube moved around in the wheel. We created small dots of non-drying clay where a tire meets the rim, then ran it around a weekend to see how far the rubber pulled or pushed from the rim. Then added/reduced pressure and did it again. We tried everything we could think of to keep from being bored.

I have this exact setup. T Drive 320mm Rotors with BST carbon wheels and a 17rcs corsa corta. It's an absolute weapon on track.
You could do a Scrambler build one day since you mentioned Cafe racers. Ducati's marketing around it is all about customization and stuff. So instead of it being more performance based, make it more art and design based. Collaborate with more local artists and stuff. Just an idea
How could anyone prefer those stock wheels over the BST wheels? Need to get their head checked, those BST wheels are amazing!

Another reason Dado for the directional rotors, look at the buttons and the carrier... the angle of the carrier to the button .... can't remember the whole reason but keeping the rotor on the carrier during braking like under race situations is one
Both are floating discs actually but technically all street based floating discs are actually semi-floating disc. A fully floated disc moves freely on the carrier. In fact, it can be pretty disconcerting to see a genuine fully floated disc as it has considerable lateral movement. The disadvantage of a fully floated disc is that it rattles and makes noise. For this reason, a spring is introduced in street going floating rotors, thus making them semi floating rotors. Fully floated disc are normally used in competition racing applications.

I would keep the bike the way you are building it it’s beautiful absolutely amazing parts and work. I’ve read about the tires I’ve never personally rode with them I’ve always ran the pilot series CT2 love them but I would definitely try the corsas keep up the good work well done👊🏻🤙🏼🤞🏼

I have heard so many stories regarding carbon wheels, especially when they go to a garage for a new set of tyres and time after time the wheel has SHATTERED and the garage has not taken any responsibility for the $3,000 😳

@JaretCampisi First of all I love your content. The bike builds are incredible and I love Dado! I am hoping you can help me with a decision. I've been in love with Ducati's since I can remember. However, I ride my bikes a lot....track, mountain twisties and commuting to and from work. The summer's where I live get very hot. It's not uncommon to see 100+ from July - August and the rest of the summer late spring in to early fall months are in the 90's. I've heard the Panigale get's unbearably hot? Is that your experience as well? I also love the BMW S1000RR M package and this has been my weapon of choice since leaving my R1s behind. So my ultimate question is the heat really as bad as people describe, or are they exaggerating? I don't have a lot of stop and go traffic but do get stuck at the occasional traffic light for 5-10 minutes. Thank you very much if you have time to respond and thank you even more for providing the great content.

Those carbon wheels should have had some orange accents like the spokes for example, i am not a big fan of black wheels and black tyres. Other then that the bike looks fantastic

Throw something out. Judging from the wheel design, the factory wheels look like they have less mass outside on the rim. The rotational mass of the old wheels may even be better, in spite of the overall weight difference. I’m with others, factory wheels look cooler
Floating rotors are "better" but not for the streets. Probably it'll be kept as a trophy bike, but I don't think floating are the way to go. Humble, non-expert opinion though

Hey Guys....another great build series but I need you to confirm something as you $100000 bike title is misleading....so lets assume in stock the bike was $50,000 + $50,000 in upgrades but you let slip that your upgrades are discounted but the stock items that go back to Mani....so if your discount on upgrades is 50% the the bike build is $50,000 + $25,000 = $75,000 not £100,000. Clearly I don't want to know what discount you get on upgrades on the stock items but lets have a bit of transparency here
Nooooo the titanium bolts look horrible with the light blue paint on the bike. Should do black bolts!
I used Ru-Glyde tire mounting lubricant to mount tires. I highly recommend. Helped some guy set the bead on a drag slick with it when nothing else worked. Obviously it drys and doesn’t stay slick so the wheel won’t slip on the rim later.
