It is very specific and I have heard a similar sound in Bulgarian folklore - for example the song "Oi Yano, Yano" (Nadka Karadjova) I understand that this is eastern type of singing and it is not so widely spread in Europe and I am really curious which are the other places in the world where it can be heard?

there is a type of Mongolian singing called urtyn duu or long song which is the same as this, there was a lot cultural interaction between Tibet and Mongolia so I imagine there is a shared history there. The Mongolian singer Norovbanzad has lots of music in this style
