Great video! I spent 22 years in Virginia. People from North Carolina are really nice. The average person does not understand how hard farmers work. Every guy is guying to fall in love with you and your family. Farmers are the only ones that know how to survive when things get tough. When the next depression hits, the farmers can sustain themselves. Every guy wants a wife like you.

I have to say, the fine black cows and calves, the kids helping and learning, especially about maintenance and long hours during harvest, neighboring, OT working dusk till dark and you doing everything you can to help is really great to see and to have it documented for others that are not aware of how farm families work together and how "Farm Wives" hold everything together is awesome.

I see all of the videos of the large farming operations with large, modern, gps connected machinery that costs 100s of thousands of dollars. The way you farm is the way I grew up farming and it is very refreshing to see a family farm operation that is more the way it is for the smaller farm family. I now live in Louisiana where the farming is quite different and not much of it. I watch your videos with the fondest of memories. Very nostalgic for me. Keep up the great work. I was stationed at Cherry Point from 93 to 98. We lived near a little community of Harlow on a 500 acre Farm called B&B right on the Intracoastal waterway between the Neuse River and Morehead City. The land owner had lots on the river for Rv's and Mobile homes. 2 docks and 2 boat ramps and 200 or so acres to hunt. We mostly fished the Neuse River and around Harkers Island and Morehead city, but I have fished several times in the Pamlico River and Pamlico Sound. Swanquarter, Ocracoke, Cedar Island, Oriental all come to mind. Everytime family came to visit we always took the Cherry Branch Ferry across the Neuse to Oriental for dinner..... What an amazing place, I have great memories.....And of course now my wife reads all of Nicholas Sparks books and makes me watch the movies.. LOL.

The old timers said the highest paid person on the threshing crew was the water person bringing drinks.😁 Love to see family and friends working together. Alot less neighbors working together. More neighbors wanting the neighbors farm. Good people get much better rewards and that's what I like about your videos

The runner, is the most important person on the job. I live on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia; Canada. I'am enjoying your Videos very much. I and my late wife had a small homestead we had jersey cows and sold cream an butter. We bought our feed an hay. At times I worked off the farm, I was a construction Steamfitter Pipe fitter, an worked all across Canada.I am now retired, family all grown up married, an living away from home. An now the animals are all gone. Just waiting for the (Lord) to call me home, but in the mean time I will continue to watch your videos and try to make my peace with my (GOD).

Hi, Merdie looks like everything is going well. Just a thought on the Suzuki since the hand brake doesn't work you could leave it first gear or reverse and that is your brake. Just hope no one hits the clutch pedal and ohh put a block behind the tires or in front if on a hill. :) H ope you all are having a good summer!

Love your videos! Takes me back to my days as a child. I would be on the farm now if the Lord had not had other plans for me. Oh well, still good memories. I always thought the "runner" was the most important part of the crew. They kept us fed, watered, and ran for parts or other pieces of equipment when needed so everything did not grind to a halt. Praying for you and your family daily since I found this channel.

Hi M . Great video. We use to also make silage in a hole in the ground, but we find that our losses on top layer and on bottom where less if we make it just on top of flat peace of ground with a little incline. No more standing water when it rains during feeding. Maybe our climate is dryer in South Africa. We also spread a little salt between layers during compacting. Nice to see how you guys doing it. You can also give your husband a compliment on his equipment, we’ll maintained and looked after 🌽🌽

I never did really like the first cutting of hay since we did square bales for our horses and had to do it all by hand and handle the bales multiple times but I enjoyed the second cutting and silage cutting because I knew fall would be here soon. I would gladly do it now though if I could spend one more day with my dad. I miss those days with him on the farm. Enjoy them while you can with your family no matter how hectic life gets.
