Hip Hop Phile is one the the BEST songs in bts’ entire discography. It’s a shame that so many people tried to shit on bts because of the hip hop influence in their music and basically call them fake when in reality, these boys have so much love and respect for the music and culture. BTS GOAT.

BTS is not a representation of what K-pop is, this is what I believe. BTS actually respect the culture, but I've seen countless times other groups and people in the K-pop industry disrespect it. BTS is the only group I know, so far, that actually do their research and actually care. If you show this song to other people, let them know this is BTS, not K-pop.

people dont realize how invested bts is in hip hop. They dont just "fast rap" they know the culture and respect it. That's another thing that sets them apart from other kpop groups
if you're gonna show this to someone who has prejudice against kpop please don't tell them "kpop groups sing about stuff like this too" because to be honest they don't. let's separate what makes bts great from the definition of the entire kpop industry. if you show this to someone, tell them "if there's a group that can make you change your mind, it's for sure bts" i hope you can understand that this song, and many bts songs, are FIRSTS for kpop

You finally reacted to this song. And I have so much to say regarding it. As you probably know, Hip Hop Phile is on their Dark and Wild Album. As all full blown ARMYs would know, their earlier albums are extremely rap/hip hop focused ( I think Dark and Wild was filmed right before or after American Hustle Life where they got to understand the culture a bit more). Hip Hop Phile puts the rap line at the forefront, while the vocal line sort of takes a backseat as we all know the Rap Line are HUMONGOUS Hip Hop Heads in every respect of the phrase.
What I love about this song so much, is that it showcases the rap lines individual story and connection to Hip Hop (Why and how they got into it, what it means to them, things like that). It also showcases their deep understanding and appreciation of Hip Hop Culture. Being a huge lover of the culture myself, it brought tears to my eyes seeing that someone on the other side of the world, who doesn't even speak English get the culture the way it was supposed to be got. No cultural appropriation, no showing off, just pure understanding. Suga's verse is my personal favorite. This song is also what made me an ARMY. Glad you enjoyed it.
if i remember correctly they were preparing for Dark and Wild during AHL. i remember during a later interview, some of the boys commented on how they were so tired during AHL bc during the day they would have to film the reality show and then at night, they would have to prepare for the album/comeback. never a moment they weren't living life to the fullest :(((

This song came out on 2014, it's one of the tracks from BTS's Dark & Wild album. Cypher PT3 Killer, was one of the tracks too. You guys should check the album out. The tracks are amazing (my personal favourite are ofc Danger, Hip Hop Phile, Let Me Know, Rain, 2nd Grade, Blanket Kick and 24/7 heaven)

After I started liking BTS I listened to every album they’ve done (including the Japanese ones). I found so many gems and I discovered that Dark and Wild is one of their very best albums!!!💜

Hip hop really is their roots and has had tremendous influence on their lives and who they are. Though they've grown and have continued to experiment and genre-bend, for some of them I think hip hop is their genre of choice and expertise. It's what they love and appreciate enough to have studied and left everything behind to become rappers/singers/artists/producers/songwriters/performers. Regardless of the member's genre of choice though, they all really love music and performance so much that they left home at pretty young ages to pursue it as a career. I think its really amazing and mindblowing how hard they work and how talented they are. Like anyone who thinks they're overrated or that they somehow don't deserve to be as successful as they are just need to learn a little bit about them and listen to their music without prejudice. They'd see just how hard and with sincere love for their craft that they've worked for it. That work ethic mixed with each of their passion and natural talents. I feel like I've heard one of the members (maybe hobi) say it before but its like destiny that they met and everything thats happened since. Anyway sorry lol stream dynamite

Ohmygod I love this song soooo much, it has stayed in my top 5 bts songs since I first heard it in 2015. I have so much respect for bts who always put respect on the culture and art they use as inspiration for their own art. They don't steal and take credit for this, they pay homage to it... Something that literally every other kpop group needs to start doing. Even though this song is old, we still see recent examples of where bts pay respect to inspiring work eg chicken noodle soup remake (hobi paying the original creator and remaking it because it inspired him when he was young.) Even dynamite is an example of them paying respect to incredible performers before them and wowie big love to bts

Suga was the one who taught J-Hope to rap and J-Hope was the one who taught Suga to dance, that's why in boy Whit love both are pointed out when he says Jin come be my teacher, since J-Hope auditioned to be a vocalist but in the end he stayed with the third rapper position, and V auditioned to be a rapper but he stayed as a vocalist because he has a better voice to be a vocal
