Geertje rode her IBOP tests on 23rd December '21. She received 77 points in her riding test, and 77 points in her driving test, which makes her CROWN.

Just watched this event again, and I realized that I was enthusiastic enough about Geertje getting the first premium. And later becoming a provisional crown mare! What a triumph that
was! And by now Yvonne has already made sure that she got her points, thus making her a CROWN MARE for real. Again, my warmest congratulations on this achievement!
OMG....I have been waiting and waiting months for this. 🤸♂️🤸♂️😁 My Gea 🥰 has finally been shown, sneaking in at Star min height 1.58 meters. Her noble luxurious head, scored very well in the racial type, walk and trot good enough ⭐ Geertje was gorgeous. 1st premium. What a proud moment to see the Orange ribbon awarded. Rein and Stal Goëngamieden achieved 4 out 4 of Star or better on 2018 fillies. Hester ⭐ Ginny ⭐ Gea ⭐ Geertje 👑 Well done 👏👏👏

Hi Pake! Been waiting a while for this! Gea was beautiful and did Stal G proud. She is such a special horse. Geertje was beautiful. So proud that Reintje's first foal did so well. The 2018 foals performed so well at inspection. Can't wait until they have foals of their own.

I love how Geertje’s tail lifts when she trots. Such a beautiful horse.
You should all be tremendously proud of the results achieved by these lovely young mares. The Friesen breeders have done a splendid job of preserving the strong, healthy and stable horses that they present to the judging committees. Despite the relatively limited number of Friesens bred world-wide and their fairly small genetic pool compared to some of the other breeds, the Friesen owners have made many good choices in their breeding practices. I am impressed by the quality of the horses shown, both in their conformation and health, but also in their ability to work hard along side their handlers without becoming 'silly' or 'hard to manage'.
In the past 60+ years, Friesen breeders have been able to preserve their multi-purpose horse breed. Friesens can still put in a day's work on a family farm, pull a wagon, and yet be kind enough for their family's children to ride on the week-end. The horses are both 'trainable' and healthy. There are many breeds today that produce beautiful 'show horses' but many of these horses need experts to train them and use them. Friesens have maintained their usefulness and continue to develop as a breed that avoids extremes of temperament and type. Well done!
She is definitely a beautiful horse has great form and is stature just amazingly representative of the Friesian horse.

It’s March 2023, and I just watched this video. I took riding lessons as a kid , but couldn’t continue because of money😢. But I still love horses. I have never seen such a BEAUTIFUL horse! She is strong and graceful at the same time! You must be SO proud of her! Good luck to you and all your horses.

Hope you don't mind me noticing (my observation and opinion) that the gentleman with the slight bread and mustache) handling our horses, Geertje and Gea, seems to be "joined with our horses and the task as a team" and not just one only interest in the exercise alone. The horses respond with a natural partnership with the horse handler (don't know yet what to call him/them) and I could feel the caring intention of the handler and our horses responded to him as if they were old friends.... very comfortably thus, exactly.
OH MY GOODNESS!! IM CRYING! Provisional Crown!! Geertje you are prefect to your herd community! Gea you looked so beautiful in the arena!! You are perfect to us & no worries... crown is next in your book to!!🥰❤ Yvonne ... because of this video I now understand more fully how mare inspections go ... how they are rated. I am so glad we have a community of the Herd who had already understand it like @Linda, @Shannon, @ Hennie,@Geertje Dejong, & @ Gregg Hammer!! Simply breath taking. I love how her tail goes up like a flag when she begins to trot. If I ever saw a horse like this in real life, I'd probably faint from being overwhelmed by the beauty.

Gea is actually related to Uniek. Her grandmother Wytske, who is Hester’s mom, is the daughter of Johanna who is Uniek’s sister. So Uniek is Gea’s great-grand aunt.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a rider these days, not for a long time I’m afraid. Watching these beautiful horses also reminds me of my dear old mum. When she was alive and I was younger, Mum used to love watching the dressage and horse jumping on our old B/W tele (when it was on of course). This she would have to do on her own because only her appreciated it. She came from humble beginnings and maybe never ever saw a horse in real life - but so loved watching the gee-gees as she say. I have learnt to love watching the horses just as mum did, in my later life. So thank you very much for allowing me into your stable life stories. Regards, Dave x

I have noticed that while jurors and other participants include some women, the handlers are all tall slender males. Is this because they have to be able to run at the speed of the horse's trot? They often seem to be matching the horse stride for stride.

Geertje really stuck out to me for qualities I like to see in a riding horse. She looks very refined with much potential. Gea does look more like how I imagine a Friesian type. They all have beautiful body condition.

Warmbloods do this, too. I just watched EDI win Champion and Reserve Champion with their two stallions imported from Europe at the North American Stallion show for Warmbloods. Rising Star would be included in this group since he is a KWPN (Dutch warmblood) so we may see him at a warmblood stallion show in Europe one day.
@@MaureenYost I guess it was more Quarter Horses I was to thinking of. These days judges are too easily bought and the breed looks nothing like it use too.
@@equusheart3344 I used to work for an Arabian breeder and they've changed a lot, too. Their heads are more exaggerated now. They look like the stallion we had who had his face deformed while in the womb from having one of his forelegs across his nose during development giving him an extreme dish-shaped head. I wish all breeds had these inspections and a well controlled studbook.
And me as well. I loved the Morgan breed for what it was decades ago. Heavy, short stocky legs, short coupled, large crest. Now they look like Saddlebreds. If I'd wanted the Saddlebred for my favorite breed, I'd have chosen it. For me they are ruined.

And you mentioned nutrition as an important factor (True for all animals! And people!) Do you add minerals to their diet? I watch a homesteading channel where they put minerals out for their animals so they can choose for themselves what they want. (They also use a lot of apple cider vinegar in the water!)

When she runs I get tears in my eyes. She's breathtaking.
I would hate to be a judge! They are all so beautiful. I must admit, being with the "girls", I have an affinity for them just knowing their personalities. Gea is my favorite of the two. Congratulations on your honorable wins!

So proud of Geertje and Gea! Have been a long time fan of Gea's ever since I saw "Gea In The Clouds" and saw her magnificent crest. To think the judge didn't like that. "Slightly heavy neck" indeed! I guess since my breed has always been Morgans, I love the heavy neck and thick crest. I'm still excited with her Ster 2nd premium, but I wanted so much for the judge to see what I saw in her. Guess it's not as much of a desired trait in Friesians.

Outstanding achievement in breeding, preparation and handling from birth.
Geertje is gorgeous at the trot! She has that quality of being on springs and really extends beautifully. Gea’s conformation is stunning. She didn’t get into her showiest trot till the end; that was the handler’s fault I think.
Those poor handlers...a dangerous job! 😁👌

Geertje absolutely shines as an exquisite horse.
She presents herself as the boss in the pastures as she trots around, learning to command respect from the other young ladies. She is a leader already.
Geertje, who is handsome just standing, is breathtaking from the first step of the trot. It as if she was born to fly!
