    Your enthusiasm over this product is infectious. It is great to see Mantic continuing to increase the quality of their products. They've always been a fun company; but, now they are matching that with being good.

    OMG! I‘ve been saying for years that I love KoW because its nice and clean and unlike WFB you don‘t end up with mostly empty movement trays in the last few turns - I can‘t believe someone else has finally mentioned this as well! You‘re a man after my heart! (just don‘t tell my wife) ❤️

    Must admit I've never played a KoW game, but this has got me excited. I like the fact there are no codexes etc and that for me is a game changer. GW is great but hate the constant updates to codexes and having to rebuy

      I started when 2nd edition hit. Was playing WFB 6th and previous editions and I must say KoW is great. Armies are rich, list building options are amazing (dwarfs for example - slow, short but with option to take earth elementals ans preists, berserkers on brocks, dog packs etc.). There is one update a year called Clash of Kings where You get spells/items (new and tweaked), sometimes a new unit, balanceing changes. Simple yet effective.

    Ash! You are part of the reason I have respect for AoS, but knowing you review KoW brings me great joy. It is my favorite of all the tabletop battle systems! I know there isn't too much KoW battle reports on your channel, but I am very much looking forward to watching what you have produced. Cheers!

    KoW2 was good quick fun, doesn't sound like there's a lot mechanically different here but plenty of new stats for units. Probably worth picking up for the stats just so I can keep playing!

      The scenario play is quite different and Unit Strength adds a lot. Small changes like counter charging instead of just attacking and things like scenery impact (charging off hills gives +1 Thundering) are nice tweaks as well.

  • @ghostmutton

    That minimum model rule rubs me the wrong way. Does this game have a big tournament scene? I get Hasbro and GW trying to police whether you can play "for real" based on how much money you've spent on their product, but it seems odd to me that even a second tier competitor would go to the trouble of including rules about how many miniatures you have to put on a base when this doesn't have any mechanical relevance. Like, if your mini line is cool and I have the scratch, I'll buy them. If my buddies and I want to cut out bits of construction paper and use those we will. And if the bro at my local shop would rather not play with me because he thinks my 7-man infantry unit doesn't look cool enough, that's his loss, but what's the point of making a fuss about it in the rules? Just say an infantry unit has 10 models and move on.

    • @michaciemniewski9791
      @michaciemniewski9791 Před rokem

      This is mostly visual thing. No one is counting Your models on a base. KoW allows non-Mantic models to be used so ome are bigger than others and fitting i.e. 20 models is impossible. Most poeple use less-than-100% models on their bases. I use 13-16 models per 20 men regiment as I add some scenic elements to it. It should look amazing. Multibasing and mini-dioramas makes armies stand out!

    • @michaciemniewski9791
      @michaciemniewski9791 Před rokem

      I would say the fuss is just to inform new players what is the standard and that they are allowed to use fewer models.

    • @danm830
      @danm830 Před rokem +1

      Helps players to quickly 'read' the battlefield. Aids general fairness at tournaments. If playing friendly/casual games, then do what you like. My first ever game was with squares of paper - loved it - and now my proper mantic ogres are coming together nicely!
