    Best infeed table idea I’ve seen on CZcams!

    I'll need to modify it a bit to work on my table saw, but this is just what I need. Thank you!!

    This is the best design I've seen yet. Just ordered the dovetail clamps from you and magnets/cups from Rockler. This will solve a lot of little issues for me.

    Excellent idea, I have a large 24” wide table saw sled that is great for cutting cabinet components, but I have to be careful not to slide back to far. This infeed support would prevent the sled from coming off table saw. Thanks

    Excellent idea! I'm headed out to the shop to build mine now.

    You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice czcams.com/users/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

    Good idea but my SawStop has a an aluminum rail cross section that will be much more difficult to adapt.

    My experience with MatchFit dovetail clamps is that the dovetail slots will cause perfectly flat plywood to bow. Are the clamps strong enough to re-flatten the plywood so that the bow does not cause inaccuracies during use of the in feed fence?

    • @thewoodsmithstore
      @thewoodsmithstore  Před 3 lety

      We didn't experience any issue with the plywood bowing, but I would think an extra clamp or two would pull it flat if that was a problem.

    • @Microjig
      @Microjig Před 2 lety +3

      Any cuts in one face of plywood, MDF or even solid woods can cause bowing, especially if the parts are not sealed with some type of finish. The MATCHFit Dovetail clamps are more than strong enough to flatted this infeed table down onto the rip fence rail. In my own shop I have had bowing with aux faces for my rip fence and the clamps make this a non issue. The clamps are rated to about 500 pounds of clamping force each.

    'Been away from WoodSmith for a long time; because of other priorities. But as I began viewing again this channel lately; I notice that the owner of Woodsmith is not in the videos. I hope it is not what I think. Tell me it's not. He was one of THE greatest woodworker people ever.

      Hi Pat -- If you are referring to Don, he is still very much involved with the store and the videos we're creating, although not on camera as much. Don sold the magazine a few years ago, but continues to own and operate The Woodsmith Store. Several former employees of Woodsmith magazine and The Woodsmith Shop TV show now work here as well, so the names may be familiar even if the faces aren't.

    Only will work with a square tubular steel rip fence rail that's set down from the table. Not all saws are set up that way. So limited usability. Wouldn't fit my saw at all.

      We have a follow-up video that shows how to adapt the table to saws with a different setup. czcams.com/video/Z2Yw0Col3cc/video.html

    Great idea. How wide is it? 12"?

    • @thewoodsmithstore
      @thewoodsmithstore  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Bill. I made mine 10". Dennis made his 12". Both work fine, but the wider it is the farther you have to reach to push the workpiece past the saw blade.
