Mid-journey has made me an artist just as much as Guitar Hero made me a musician.
A most stealable quote
Hey, for guitar hero you need at least SOME skill!
@@2MeterLP For Prompting you need some skill too. It's not as easy as just typing something in the box and pressing enter. You have to know what to actually type to get something remotely close to what you want.
@@v0kinn0ed5 I really cant tell if youre trolling or serious.
Drawing takes years of practice. Decent AI prompting takes one youtube video and a couple hours of trying things out.
@@2MeterLP You're joking right? Yeah anyone can draw a picture with no skill. You can use prompts with no skill. But to get anything good out of either of them you have to have a grasp on what you are doing. The idea that you have to have skill to be called an artist or do art is rediculous.
Beautiful documentary.

Holy shit, that prompt theif bit epitomizes some of the extreme mental gymnastics and hypocrisy of some of these people
"You stole that." "No i didn't." "Yes you did." "Well, agree to disagree."
How do you think AI art became so prolific? Everyone shared the best prompts around, it got to a point where they made a database for people to upload the images and it would show all the prompts used. This strawman is little more than "what if AI artists were as narcissistic as regular artists"
@@chainermike to be fair, a few of these stories really happened and then were picked up by Twitter for mockery
It is still a number of grifters that never coded or weren't accustomed to the culture behind AI enthusiasts, most of prompters I follow put quite a lot of work into researching their workflow yet still share it
@@Invizive I have no doubt that you will find a handful of these people. Social media has given a gift to people that like to paint entire groups with one or two cherry picked statements, it just gets tiresome when in this case it's broadly the opposite.

"Theres always a light at the end of the grindset" such an inspiration to all
😂😂😂 I love this. I hate people that call themselves artists when all they do is type in some words
Some actually put a lot of work in it to get the results they want... But yeah many is just as in this documentary (it is so true and close to real life that it is not really satire...).
Shit, that was perfect.
Strangely enough I was at German art museum at the weekend, the town has a beautiful cathedral and a lot of paintings and carving from the 1200s and onwards are in the museum. It also had a huge modern art section right next to the historic.
When you marvel at the skill and beauty of a 600 year old biblical scene and then next to it is a blue square with an orange square that took all of 5 seconds, I get the feeling there might be some parallels!
Yes, it just shows that our civilization has fallen!
I respect the stupid square. It's a sign the artist was clever enough to scam a few hundred thousands from some snobbish rich idiots.
Liberalism is shit. Creationists made Europe great but atheists hijacked and ruined it.
@@RuddsReels fun fact, a lot of people throughout History agree with you! Here are a few examples:
The SS party in Germany gathered all of the german art they could find that didn't fit the n*zi romantism and put it in an exposition talking about how ugly and awful this art was, how it was made by artists paid with taxpayers dollars, and how much it's a sign of how far culture has fallen
Jesse Helms was a north carolina (USA) politician who spent his career defending "true art" and calling out how low the american culture had fallen. By that he meant pointing his finger and yelling at Mapplethorpe, a photographer who took pictures of intimicy and sexual acts, no matter the gender.
Saying that culture has fallen because you don't like modern art is a very dangerous idea. Especially since modern art's goal is to challenge the idea of what is art, and to make you ask questions about that.
You can dislike it, but it's a sign of cultural decadence invites whoever is in charge to censor it because it's not "true art". Who decide what true art is? Whoever is in charge, and chances are they won't like subversive themes. Imagine if someone decided to censor Monet because he was painting in impressionism style and that's not "true art".
@@asdadsgsaadasf6043 tbh, "piss christ" (an art piece which is litteraly a plastic cross plunged into urine) could be considered vile but you also could have entire discussions about whether or not this is ok to do. That's why I like modern art

*Wow, you know just what to say to make we fellow artists ENRAGED!*
As someone who can't draw a straight line to safe my life it's really cool how I can enter a prompt and sometimes actual art comes out. It's like a tiny glimpse into what I would like to do if I could draw well. I would never have the audacity to say it could replace any artists above my skill level(near rock bottom). An actual person brings direction, clarity, intent, personality/style, and so much more an A.I. can't do.
It's like telling a machinist that a 3d-printer will replace them.
You know, you could always learn how to draw...
@@Jeffmetal42 "Learn to code"
It's like telling hundreads of thousands of machinist who's work and skill was digitized and then scraped to train a software guiding 3d printer-like machines, that do their job almost as good. Your analogy really doesn't work, man.
@@paulsheldon8838 Not just their skill - Their property. Using mechanisation of vehicle manufacture as an analogy falls pretty flat when you think that the workers getting ripped off didn't own any of the cars produced with their labour or the designs used to make them.

Prompt stealing as an argument is like trying to convince someone not to use a specific crack to a pirated game because you used it first.
I find interesting that AI artists (and some anime style artists) act like big boba = good design
Brilliant!
0:11 "An algorithm scans over 1000's of works of art on the internet, fusing them into one original piece" It would be harder to argue against the phrase: "...using them to make one original piece."
The algorithm doesn't 'fuse works of art together.' People could use that inaccuracy to criticize you.
But it wouldn't work without those pieces of art, so no-one can deny that it 'uses them.'

ai art is great for helping to create content for niche fandoms and for people to make art for their stuff like fanfictions. Not so much for being a career artist, unless ur just a fucking God with the english lexicon and can recite the entire RGB light spectrum with words.
Throws some fucking word in it and print it out 💀
@Radioactive FistFoot I coded an AI prompt generator based on danborus pics' metadata, it works well.
The day we get AI art that can compete with regular art, assuming were still using the exact same AI we use today, is the day I respect AI artists for their now undeniable unlimited wisdom with words

@@slimboarder.o7 typing "big boobs, beautiful woman, highly detailed, no watermark, good art, trending on artstation" into an art stealing machine is not a skill. and even if generative images were considered "art", you still wouldn't be considered an artist because the generative machine made it, not you.
This is fucking hilarious. BLESS. AI art should stick to usage of random shit you need for less important projects, rehashing things for inspiration in your own work, or just stuff where nobody is making money on it. Tabletop monster concepts you need on the fly, memes, color palettes, mashing animals for creature ideas, helping describe scenery, etc. It has plenty of perfectly good uses, but should not be everyone's go-to for any kind of genuine piece.
