Watching your Tarot Course, Sept. 2020. Telling the Fool’s Journey story has been a wonderful introduction to the Major Arcana. I really haven’t understood how the cards relate to one another. But I’m getting a better understanding of this by learning the Fool’s Journey. I understand that this can change over time as I learn more, but I really appreciate having a structure or story line laid out. Thank you, Kelly-Ann.

I have struggled for years to understand tarot. I'd pick it up, try and learn it card by card, then I'd forget some of the info and get frustrated with it and put it down for a while. I've never heard of it explained in such a way. Thank you! You've explained it beautifully and just made this task SO much easier. I also want to say, I've been watching pagan or spiritual videos for a long time now. I've just recently come across your videos and I've never seen anyone as well thought out and articulate as you! I'm a very analytical person and you have a flow about you, when explaining things, that is refreshing. Beautiful!

I normally don't comment on videos, but something so miraculously strange happened as I was watching this one. As I was listening to you speaking I was shuffling my deck absentmindedly. At the exact moment two minutes in when you mention splitting the major arcana in half at the wheel of fortune my deck sort of sputtered in my hands and a few cards fell out. The Wheel of Fortune lay there face up, the only right faced card of the four or five that had fallen out of my hands. I felt shivers up my spine, I'm taking it as a very good sign for this course, which I was already enjoying anyway LOL.

It puts you into a state where nothing matters in a good way. You truly don't give a shit about anything and you're just happy as fuck as a result, because nothing matters. Nothing matters, nothing means anything, there's nothing to do, there's no point, there's no goal but there's also no boredom, there's no negative meanings attached to the meaninglessness, it's just perfectly meaningless and it's awesome. You're basically just like sitting like a cat on a windowsill enjoying whatever experience is before it, just being and it feels amazing. 🦄

When I came to think of myself as a Pantheist, and hold that perspective, your series on Pantheism had a huge impact for me (especially considering that you commented on Dawkins, and I was reading The God Delusion at the time).
I had had a small interest in Tarot for a while, but recently, there was a fundraising event where an item being auctioned off was a Tarot deck, and I was the only bidder. Because of that, I've decided to start really learning about Tarot in a more in depth way. Once again, you have a series that is very helpful to me.

Love Love LOVE your work! Not sure if you've already had this discussion, as there are so many comments. The Foo'ls Journey is Joseph Campbell's concept. If you haven't read Campbell much, do enjoy. His writing on mythology and symbolism is extraordinary.

Sylvie Kaos Indeed I have read Campbell and hugely enjoy his work. The Hero with a Thousand Faces is a wondrous book. Where did he write about The Fool's journey? Or are you drawing parallels to 'the hero's journey' which he identified throughout different systems of mythology? (It might be that he actually used the words 'fool' and 'hero' interchangeably?)

    Hi Kelly-Ann!
I know you posted this years ago but I'm just getting into Tarot and love watching your videos! I've just had the most wonderful afternoon working on my conscious mandala that I wanted to share it with you...
I started with the Wheel of Fortune and the Chariot crossing it at my center because I grew up with an mean alcoholic as a father, a busy working mother, a struggle with depression, self mutilation, and anxiety...and I decided the Wheel of Fortune would represent luck of the draw and how it doesn't necessarily matter how you start off in this world. It's about grabbing the reigns to your chariot and moving forward!
I worked outward thinking about the past and what I've brought into my future, how I've struggled and overcame things. And in the end I realized as I moved outward in my mandala I was really going deeper within. How those situations caused me to find strength, perseverance, the ability to adapt and transform, to discover and accept the good within the bad...I was blown away how things connected and circled back.
For the first time I really started seeing my own personal meanings/story in the cards. This exercise was powerful and moving. I feel like I have a totally new understanding of some of the cards.
Thank you so much for suggesting/explaining it!
Now on to my unconscious mandala :)

Thank you for giving me a new perspective on the Tarot. I've given a professional reading before. But sometimes when reading with my friends, I sometimes I get in a daze and see visions intuitively beyond the cards...details of particular events or happenings. I am able to regain my focus though.
So I did a professional reading, in which I charged for it...and when I look and think back on it, I feel I could have spent more time with my client and expressed more details from my clients reading...He was concerned about his son and his business...all in all in the end, my client was happy with the reading. I thought all went well too, but during the reading I began to get visions that thwarted me a bit..
(I know the importance to not share deathly or doom filled messages during a reading), During this reading I continued to specifically see the death of his mother. (a few of the cards he pulled were the Queen, Death, and the Sun). I continued to ask questions of his mother and he mentioned how healthy she was and being that it was a queen card I knew for sure it must be his mother. I was thwarted because I thought since he spoke often of his ex-wife, she would make an appearance in the cards...
As this was my first true reading, I wish I had written his card order down for future reference...so far, a few months after his reading, his situations have progressed as I have read it and unfortunately, his mother has passed. I wouldn't say I'm a 100% accurate reader, although much of what I have read for friends have come to pass as did my first professional reading. I wasn't sure how to express the passing of his mother, although I did acknowledge her as a strong woman with sound advice and suggested he take her advice on future matters, as it pertained to part of the reading.
I will enjoy to continue reading on a professional level and am finding more depth and meaning within the cards. For now, I'm looking to spiff up my reading skills and would love to get more tips and pointers for reading. One of my questions is, how long should a reading last?

I just laid out the cards to narrate my own personal Fool's Journey, and it was the most therapeutic thing I have ever done. Of course that means the cards are out of order, but what's funny about that is realizing how much sense it makes that because after my Chariot card I didn't learn strength/balance, I ended up with the devil and the tower.
I'll number out the cards so the comment isn't so long: 4, 6, 7, 15, 16, 17, 13, 3, 14, 1, 19, 21, 10, 9, 8, 20, 11, 2, 0, 5, 12. No Moon for me just yet. Thank you for suggesting this exercise. I feel like I understand myself so much more now, which is something important for me in my battle to keep depression away.

I've watched many videos, and read a lot about the Major Arcana, and I've been working with tarot (not too seriously until just recently) for over 20 years. I was still struggling to internalize the progression of the major arcana, until this video. You are so succinct and clear in your instruction that something has definitely clicked for me and I feel a lot of frustration dissolving, and a lot more enthusiasm to keep working replacing that frustration. Thank you so much!

Thanks so much. This was really well done. I especially liked what you said at the end about the Hierophant, and personal relationships to the cards. Being new to learning about tarot, I never knew that one could put so much of oneself into the story. This makes it even more interesting.

Thank you so much for these classes I have had the urge need what you call it for all my life my life to learn about the things that motivate human existence spiritually. I have owned a Tarot deck since I was in my preteen years and did nothing with it because of my religious upbringing. Once I became an adult I thought I would have persuaded it but I have some kind of mental block and I have the hardest time letting myself dive in and learn, but recently I have had a life changing event happen. I lost my job of nine years and I really feel like it time for a career change so I am leaning towards shamanism and becoming a professional Tarot reader. Although I'm not even sure they can both be use at the same time but I am very passionate about them both and no in my heart that they both will be moving in the right direction for me. So wish me luck and fortune that I will learn all that you have to teach and in turn grow more spiritually and confident in my skills.

This video was brilliant. Thank you for your insight. I wrote a ton of notes as I am learning about the Tarot, alongside using it in my Fictional project [which is teaching me and connecting me even stronger to] As I am also working on a memoir the exercise suggested will be fun, and I am excited to be embarking on it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I truly appreciate your videos in this series as someone who is learning more and more about the Tarot each and everyday. This is definitely something that you were called to do by Spirit, because you are very gifted in the ability to comprehend and teach your knowledge of the Tarot. I look forward to more videos. P.S.- You were very eloquent throughout the entire video. I love your energy and thoroughness -- it was all very parsimonious!

Brilliant. I am very intrigued by the collective unconscious and believe the entirety of major arcana is a product of that. I created a text based game based on the fools journey in which the player came across iconic imagery from the tarot-the moon, the hermit, two pillars etc. I must get the book you mentioned. Xx

Thank you SO much for this video. You were so elegant in your authenticity, so glad you didn't edit at all. Your explanations and insights were refreshing. You kept things very mystical and enchanting while also keeping them down to earth and present in today's world. It's not something I see a good balance of in most videos or explanations.
The High Priestess is my card, as you were talking about at the end. Your explanation of her was spot on in terms of my understanding of her. I've been watching a few tutorials where there has no been mention of intuition or her correlation with the moon and it's hidden wisdom. I'm so glad to have heard that here.
    Thanks again!!

You did a wonderful job of explaining the fool's journey IMO. And the unconscious spread was especially helpful to me...wow, did I get a lot more out of the cards doing this as a journey through my life! I'm new at tarot, and yeah, it's a little intimidating! LOL This made it super easy to at least feel comfortable with the major arcana! Thank you!

Lady J, I can see you right well. One chip from an Old English teacher... it's a waste to put IMO or in my opinion because it's understood in writing that you are expressing your own opinion. Hope you don't take this as somebody nitpicking you because not making any change in this won't affect people understanding you. What I came to understand as the economy of words happened in a class based on English women writers and Muriel Spark was one I remember mentioned

That was very enlightening and interesting to watch! I'm only a beginner to Tarot, but I felt that the way you explained each card gave me a basic understanding in a quick and efficient way and I'll definitely remember them well.
I also did one of the mandalas exercise , the one where I place the cards without knowing what they are, and it was really interesting! I did sort of a concentric circle, and while I had trouble identifying how I related to the cards on the outside, the more I got closer to the centre, the more I understood what part of me or my life the cards related too.

I just finished teaching a woman who started with the cards 1 month ago. I asked her to follow this coarse. A great foundation to start with! If you are looking for a good instructor. You found her!

I've been doing a memoir with these cards, or at least some of them. I'm doing a memoir of my first time observing Lent. I also did one of my second time, which is when I first came across your channel. It's been an interesting reflective experience. I also did the mandala exercise a couple of times, and got interesting things from it. I also wrote down a word for each card in my journal, but I think it's time I move on to the next part.
