I love your explanation, sauron in canon itself wanted to to repent and ask for forgiveness. And galadriel and celeborn's story is very blotchy, even Tolkien himself said so. So I wouldn't mind, in fact I am rooting for sauron and galadriel

For a moment, he (Sauron) believed that he could fix everything and find peace. But he couldn't. Morgoth never released him, Sauron lived in the illusion of "freedom". (Of course, Sauron is a completely different character in the book).
It is tragic how much Morgoth's poison can take another Maia and twist him as much as he twisted the orcs so that they become seemingly incapable of anything but evil. Why is there no way to heal that?
his relationship with galadriel which has at least an ounce of sincerity makes him sympathetic, he wanted to bind with her, to help her and be beside her while at the same time she gave him all the tools to regain his power. very tragic but... lovely

In the latter case it has to be made to generate financial revenue a return. However, in a conversation with Theo in episode 8 she tells him that she lost her husband Celebron in the war. Now what puzzles me a little is the fact that she seeks revenge for her brother and not for her husband who also died in the war. Or I don't know if he is in prison somewhere. But exploring this thug love will be better for the series. There are already a lot of people dating the "couple". 🤗
now i know the true story of sauron. for me. galadriel and sauron are the perfect couples. but it turned around when galadriel found out that he was sauron the one who killed his brother. thats why sauron choose his path permanently. until the lotr return of the king. i feel that he was about to change his fate during his company with galadriel. and that moment galadriel rejectes him for being the enemy, sauron sunlight becomes dark and becomes the villan we all know as Saruon the Dark Lord. #MyOwnThoughtOnly.
you are right. he thought there was a path to redemption with her, she wouldn't allow it and it broke his spirit again. I expect to see him continue trying to get redemption through her but being increasingly rejected in the rest of the show.
I'm pondering if there is any chance of he being the original Sauron, but maybe recovers humanity - Mairon - and then Adar takes the title and becomes the Sauron we know in LOTR???? So he was Sauron once, but not anymore, and Adar picks his cloak and crown and takes his place. Because Adar doesn't like Sauron, had even killed him once and wants take his place as lord.

I don't like how they have messed with the Tolkien timeline just to have they're love story , sauron doesn't go to numenor untill he is taken there by arpharazon,galadriel is a married women ,she shouldnt be falling for halbrand,
the plot and characters to me are ridiculously written but seeing the comments it did make one wonder if Sauron was at any point actually genuinely serious about intending to marry her, balance his dark side and actually do good. In which case Sauron is basically another incel story about a beta who got rejected by an arrogant chick.
I have to say. I really like the show but I don't like this story between Galadriel and Sauron. I hope the developers stick to the Silmarillion and don't allow love between Sauron and Galadriel
