- ngl i was kinda scared to download soundfonts but the popular ones seem to be pretty safe so yeah and it was pretty easy to get it working in fl studio!
was going for like a chill retro video game type aesthetic

I don't see why you'd be scared to use soundfonts? As long as you make sure the file is an sf2 or sfz and not anything weird it should be fine, right?
idk I think I’m just overly cautious when downloading stuff off the internet,,, I was more scared abt the download sites than the downloads themselves bc I saw some ppl on Reddit saying the sites were kinda sketchy, though I used musical artifacts and it seemed fine enough so I’ll probably go back and download some of the popular sfs soon!!
