    Thx! I like what you said in the comments about sticking with and integrating one mantra over time. What do you tend to focus on? The feeling of the beads in your hand? The sound of the mantra in your mind? Or the idea of the mantra? Etc. Thx!

    Hi Amy! i found your tutorial very useful and complete, i got my first japa mala a couple days ago from my loved cousin that went to India and brought me one! i´m 23 now and I meditate with hindi mantras for about one year now and i´ve experienced the knowing, the connection with the universe, our energy and love, it´s amazing.
    P.S. i´m amazed with your beauty, expressions and body language,
    Namaste from Montevideo, Uruguay ♥

    Hi Amy, great vid, thanks for doing it! Can we use our own mantra or does it have to be sanskrit or something that is set?

    • @amylandry
      @amylandry  Před 6 lety +3

      I would personally suggest a sanskrit mantra - however it is valuable to ensure correct pronunciation and also to ensure you understand the in depth meaning of that which you choose (If you do not have a teacher who is willing to pass one on to you). This being said, any mantra can be an anchor for the mind, so it doesnt have to be sanskrit. This would simply be far more potent! Thank you so much for watching :))

    Does each Mala need its own mantra? or can I use a different mantra with the same one mala I have?

    • @amylandry
      @amylandry  Před 7 lety +2

      It's best to stick with ONE mantra and ONE mala for chanting at a time. To really receive the potent effects of a mantra it's advised to stick with the same one for a continued period of time (i.e daily... for a number of weeks/MONTHS). But if you feel called to chant another mantra, then you could do so without your mala, and just do the chanting itself. You essentially want to INFUSE your mala with the power and potency of one mantra ideally. Hope that helps clarify? :) Thanks for watching!
