I cried listening to this. I found Nf a few months ago and honestly he has helped me so much. I can relate to most of his songs. I don't really know how to express myself through words so when I listen to him I feel better but I also can't. I'm 15 years old and my mom has been dealing with me for 4 years. I stopped cutting for awhile but I did it once a few weeks ago and now I can't stop. I cant tell my mom. She is already stressed she doesnt need anymore stress, especially from her oldest daughter. I want to help people with mental illness but I don't know if I ever will be able to. I can't even help myself. Which honestly I was doing really good a few years ago. I didnt cut for 2 years and then something happened. I attempted suicide again and ended up back in the hospital for 2 weeks. Things went downward from there. My dad is super abusive so he wasnt really happy about that. He's trying to stop (i think) I hope he is. He wants me to be a certain way which I'll never be. I don't know how to tell him that. I'm really trying. I try everyday to keep it together but it gets harder everyday. If you are going through this. I'm so sorry. Don't let anyone tell you its not that hard. It is. She just talked about how kids who are suicidal do that type of thing. She was trying to make me understand how bad it was, but she wasn't acknowledging that I actually had a problem. 😢

So i'm 12 year old now and i was abused at around 6 and my sister was 5 we ended up in foster care and and iv'e been with them for 2 years almost 3 and my bio mom just got her rights taken away to see me and my sister and my depression got so bad that i was hospitalized for a week and stared having anxiety attacks a lot and it was so bad i had some thoughts about ending it but i realized i had to live for my sister she has bipolar were pretty sure and i used to cut. i really feel like your music connects to me so well this really helps me so much and you are so amazing i love that you talk about real life problems and i love you so much and i love that you rap about your problems and passions it just amazes me so much.

my dad heard me listening to this song, and hes extremely christian. he told me "that doesn't sound christian!!" i told him that not all christian songs are happy and fun. some christians vent out the bad things in their life into songs. NF does that. Not all christian songs are praising god, i said. Some of them and about negative things, and that they just thank god for helping them. Every song is about something different, and NF's songs are about true things that are happening in his life right now, about REAL problems. NF may or may not be christian, but i love NF because he talks about REAL problems, and i have found very few music artists that talk about real shit like this. NO ONE does this as good as NF. In fact, whenever me and my dad are arguing or yelling, i go to my room, put on my headphones, and turn on NF. NF helps me to calm down so much easier than other music I've listened to. Music is my way, as well as other people's way, to vent out their feelings and emotions. As NF says at the end if this particular song, "This is a therapy for ME." I relate to that 100%. Thank you, NF, for helping me to understand you through music. ^^.^^

I was in a very dark place, then I discovered his music, and his music really picked me up out of that dark place, it made me feel as if I wasn’t alone. I love this, I hate people who say it doesn't matter that he's Christian, but it does. People think that most Christian kids are happy and live with happy families, but that isn't the case! Also most of my life I've been depressed or angry and I still am I have a lot of mental issues and they have gotten worse I would tell my life story but its too long because I've been through a lot even though I'm only eleven I feel like no one is here for me mom my says I have it pretty good but little does she know I don't have it so good I mean my dad has been in jail so many times he is barely there for me I've been home to home to a few family members who only agreed to keep me because they heard they were gonna get a check and when they found out they couldn't I had to go somewhere else I've been touched in wrong places(sexually abused) I feel abanded and alone we lived with our uncle for 4-5 years when my mom was in rehab and I used go outside and sing and cry for my mom I barely got to see her at that time and never at that time got to see my dad and about a few times I got to speak to him on the phone while he was in prison I have no real friends I cut myself and have cut myself WAY MORE than once and I like the feeling of it going down my arm and hand and its sad because I've never had a good life and my cousins have a rich papa or he's really close to rich they have been to Mexico beach and wild adventures and other fun places soooo many times and I've not been once plus I'm suicidal my parents were on drugs before I was born and when I was really young and when I was born my father claimed I was not his because I had blue eyes and my mom or dad didn't have blue eyes my nana potty trained me and always said I was special and not to ruin me but she passed away years ago I feel hurt and so miserable my mom when found out I was upset she tried to get me a therapist but I went twice and then she never made me another appointment she's not a bad mother tho also I have anxiety and a anxious heart I'm broken im really smart in school I sing and rap (to myself) my heart is broken and torn and in peices and I used to want my mom and dad get back together but now I don't, truth is I want to change how I feel but I already fell soooo in love with the pain that I don't won't to get better but I do i want to feel this way or worse at the same time I won't to get better and I just don't get it I feel like I know deep down but I pushing the truth away I'm trapped and now I live with my mom and she got a boyfriend and I guess life was supposed to be good but its nothing but kaios and misery I hate life and wished many times for god to let me go to heaven now you know how I said I'm suicidal the only reason I have not ended my life is because I want to go to heaven, I'm kinda scared and I don't won't to my mom sister brother and my family's heart tho I feel like they don't care and my moms boyfriend who's Technically my stepdad and he calls us stuff like dumb*ss , slow, greedy, disrespectful, ungrateful stupid, And says we never help or listen and sorry*sses and usually trys any way to ground us even if its stupid when were grounded its usually for 2 or 3 or 4 or a week and my brother gets whipins ALOT and I feel horrible, miserable, shattered, and very very alone, broken, depressed, angry(i have anger issues) and with all these problems I need help and NF is one of my most favorite people and. I listen to his music ALL the time

I know that the pain can become addicting at times-like you always want to go back to it-but just know that pain is never the answer. You said you wanted to go to Heaven, right? Idk if you're religious or not, but God doesn't like to see you in pain, especially when doing it to yourself. Trust me, I haven't had it as bad as you, but I have harmed myself before and realized that the pain doesn't help anything or anyone. It will only give you a craving for more. It may feel "good" at first, but trust me, it backfires. Pain is never good, no matter how much you become addicted to it. You have to fight it.
I'm sorry about your stepfather. I understand that it can really suck when people-especially your parent/stepparent-put you down by calling you names. Just know, that you are NOT what he calls you, you hear me? I know I don't even know you, but I just want you to know that you are an amazing, beautiful person, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Try to keep your head up, even in the darkest of times. Praying and especially asking God for guidance is a great way to start. :)
If you're having trouble with anger issues, try a couple of methods. Before you decide to be angry, try these methods:

2. Relax your shoulders
3. Let go of that breath
4. Relax your fingers
5. Stop moving your legs/feet
6. Let your lips relax

9. And remember, the sun must set to rise, it'll all be okay in the end.

Usually people think that killing themselves takes them out of their own life for the better, to get rid of the pain. It doesn't. It doesn't help anything. It only takes you to bitter consequences. All in all, please don't take your own life, there is so much life to live for and to experience, and maybe one day you'll look back on yourself and be happy that you didn't commit.
