Wave, Miyako is a classically-trained pianist and her songwriting is influenced by her love of the Romantics like Rachmaninov, Chopin, etc. She is also influenced by Gary Moore and has done piano covers of some of his songs, like Parisienne Walkways, on her personal CZcams channel.

A masterpiece from Lovebites (just one of many)!
Haruna is a fantastic drummer! And the cutest drummer too! Her kit in this show is a Pearl Crystal Beat, she uses different toms these days. Her setup is constantly changing.
Also her double bass sound is a mix of triggers and acoustic.
This song is such a beautiful journey, so many fantastic transitions! Asami's beautiful vocals are the cherry on top! 😀

LOVEBITES - Edge Of The World lyrics:
Why do we learn to hate, deceive and lie, hurt each other?
Why does it never end? The sorrow keeps on repeating
Wailing, come downpours of the rain
Will it end? No one ever knows
Wondering, what only time can tell
What is at the end of life?
Why do we only see our own desires? Greed is endless
Why is there authority when there is no justice in their rulings
    Struggling like feeble, helpless fools
Will it end? No one ever knows
Wandering, not knowing where to go
    Carrying the breath of life
Standing at… The Edge of the World
As long as you're still alive, remember
    - don't fear standing up, don't ever give it up
Until the day you meet your end, it's not over
    - let your soul shine inside of your heart
As long as you're still alive, remember
    - keep your dignity, stay true to who you are
Until the day you meet your end, it's not over
    - let your heart love and always be loved
How you live will always live on
As your way of life, forever
How you live will always live on
As your way of life, forever
How you live will always live on
As your way of life, forever

You like the piano? You have to watch "Swan Song". Miyako, who composes a lot of their music, is a professional-level classical pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now a dual virtuoso. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude. All five members of the band are Jedi-level musicians, but I think Miyako is a once-in-a generation talent, a true savant. Here is the current link to “Swan Song” with the Etude as prelude: czcams.com/video/n1BiurShqBM/video.html

This band are really tight and so much fun if you get the chance to see them live. If you want to do more from them perhaps check out Swan Song, or Thunder Vengance for an up-tempo thrasher in the style of Metallica/Slayer - both of them have live clips on CZcams from this same show.
I'm going to suggest taking a look at the band Gacharic Spin as well. They're a big name within Japan but sadly get overlooked by many international music lovers.
If you do MV reactions Gacharic Spin just released a video for their latest single MindSet on their channel - it's not metal like some of the bands you've been checking out, more...funk-prog-pop-rock? Gacharic Spin just do whatever they want genre wise. It's an absolute jam though and the instrumental section they have in the middle is just _chef's kiss_. Also one to check out if you like slap bass because the bassist goes _off_.
If you only do live video reactions you're also in luck because Gacharic Spin are stunningly brilliant in live performances, as a drummer I think you'd appreciate this clip from their 2019 live blu-ray of them playing their track TAMASHII (SOUL) with two drummers, one of who is also singing: czcams.com/video/Jt7-GGRa3nc/video.html

    • @nanakakitano9724
      @nanakakitano9724 Před 3 lety +2

@梶A I suspect the reason they don't get as much attention is two fold:
Firstly they aren't as clear cut hard-rock/metal as some of the other popular bands. Whilst they can do that stuff at the very highest levels (ref DOLL$BOXX), their genre mixing, generally poppy sensibility, and frankly whackiness (Oreo burger for example) can leave many confused or offput.
Secondly they don't have an easily identifiable "gimmick" - or at least not a fixed one, nothing that they feel wedded to at least. They'll play around with looks and band set-up as much as they play around with genres.
      To compare and contrast:
Girls in maid outfits playing hard-rock? Or girls in white dresses playing heavy metal? It's unusual but the brain can comprehend it easily, and the music sounds like things you're used to hearing but played by people you're not used to seeing play it. That mix of familiar and unfamiliar is very appealing and understandably so.
Someone dressed as a burger leaping about frantically on top of a keyboard whilst a guitarist looking like Little Bo Peep is dancing around and a drummer/singer dressed in multicoloured neon cycling gear and a bassist dressed like a Mongolian Warlord who just had neon green paint thrown on them goes nuts and there are also dancers and the song is Zubari Hatsutoji? It can be a bit much for some people to take in and appreciate for how damn good it actually is, or realize how advanced the musicianship is beneath the insanity they are witnessing unfold in front of them.
Gacha-pin have heavily toned the retina burning color-splosions down of late but their musical style is still as eclectic and unusual as it always was.
I agree about Chopper btw, my personal favorite bassist. Her work on MindSet is truly stunning. The pocket her and Hana have going on that track is _deep_ stuff, completely locked in.
I'm not quite sure what you mean about Misa and the God Father reference, I'm afraid I've never seen that film.

Great, great review, positive reaction and good analysis. About the drummer's stamina, you'd better know this tune is the second from the end of almost 2 hour show. That is the reason it ends abruptly, this tune is a kind of directly connected to the beginning of the very last song We the United.
About piano, you've got try Swan Song with the preceding track Chopin Revolutionary Etude. You'll know the reason why those two independent tracks must be played together when you watch the video. They are in the live Five of a Kind at Zepp Diver City Tokyo 2020. You can hear a magnificent piano intro in Empty Daydream live Daughters of the Dawn 2019 version. Try "Rising" live at Zepp Diver City 2020 version. You can witness incredible switch from guitar to piano and return to guitar again, power metal to waltz and return to power metal again. Miyako flips her Dean to her back and flips back into the position after piano. You can hear when she stops playing guitar and starts playing piano, and can see when she switches to guitar again. Her action is so quick and smooth and not missing a single beat, as if she is playing the same instrument and on the same rhythm.
