    The real question is, how does the monster arena dude restrain/keep captive stronger than Sin fiends.

    • @RazielTheUnborn

      Lore wise they aren't stronger than Sin. Mechanics don't always translate to narrative. Even if we were to say these things are stronger than Sin, Sin can wipe out entire cities the size of Zanarkand, these fiends aren't causing the same degree of wide spread damage as Sin.

      It took him 10 minutes because he is using celestial weapons and their skills are garbage. • @aciarduce
    @aciarduce Před rokem +6

    First playthrough of FFX I went rather quick and did just enough to progress the story. Shortly after getting access to the ship's ability to fly everywhere I went to Omega dungeon. And I could NOT touch Omega. I felt weak and pitiful. I had already had serious issues beating Seymour on Mt. Gagazet.
    So. After feeling down for a week, I deleted my file and restarted the game. And I did not move quickly. Every area I grinded for a time. I moved some of the characters into adjacent sphere-grid areas earlier. The moment it could be done, I went out of my way to get monsters captured, celestial weapon components, and extra spheres for later.
    I had no problem with any of the story this time, and went straight to Omega.
    I got everything ready. Everyone had their overdrives active, and the same for all of my Aeons. I used Rikku's mix to give party buffs then switched her out for Auron. Then Yuna did an Overdrive summon on the sisters. Delta Attack NOW!!
    So this was the first time I had seen max damage in FFX..... And just for your information, that is actually the exact amount that Omega has in maximum health....99,999
    I uh... I thought I was going to have to summon and do this with just about everyone. I was ready for an epic battle, against a foe that had bested me so many times before.....
    One shot. With 3 characters getting experience at all....
    So, with great sadness, I reloaded from the start of Omega dungeon and went back to the boss, and proceeded to have everyone in the party do... something. Because I had to hold back now to not kill him before everyone could get exp. It was at this moment I realized that I may have gone a little overboard. Welp! Nothing to do but everything else now. All celestial weapons, everything captured.
    Nemesis here wasn't all that hard really, but it was for sure a longer fight. I did not have max stats at this point, but Lulu, Yuna, and Rikku had all cleared each other's zones by this point and Yuna was eating through Tidus'.
    Damn what a good game!

    So I was thinking... most the walkthroughs of this game all say the celestial weapons are the best you can get for each character. However some of these weapons have slots that are pointless in regards to damage or not helpful in a battle like double ap or gillionaire. It might be interesting to craft weapons for those characters and rather add first strike, some evade/counter, half mp or 1 mp or even alchemy might be dope paired with armour that has auto Phoenix which would then be a full life becomes a mega Phoenix down.

    • @2xMoon
      @2xMoon  Před 2 lety +46

      you're somewhat right about this but there is a hidden algorithm with celestial weapons where but the higher your HP the more damage you do (except for Auron which is the opposite) and the higher likelihood of hitting a critical (you can hear the difference in the sound when you strike).
      first strike is unecessary in the late game with 255 agility and auto haste.
      auto phoenix only revives with 9,999hp not 99,999. i agree the MP ones are useful

      That is not the case with the Dark Aeon and Penance fights, at least. You need to anticipate attack patterns, counter stats, party usage, etc.

    I remember hating how useless kimarhi was post game. I hated that so much plus i didn't see the point in making the bosses damage sponges, Once you survive 6 attacks against a boss you can survive a hundred. Where's the challenge, the fun in fighting the same dude a hundred+ turns?
    In this fight you had to deal over 110 hits to slay Nemesis (has 10 million HP), and in all that time you had 3 strategies: Attack/Quick Hit, Curaga/Esuna, or Full-Life... for hundreds of turns. once you reached the stats check and figured the formula, the fight wasn't a challenge anymore, just tedious.
    So one playthrough I enabled a mod that removed the 99999 damage cap (no other changes). The entire story played exactly the same, but once postgame hit it cut out literal days of mindless grinding and fighting arena battles half-asleep (I bet the same thing happened to everyone that grinded postgame).
    Now, my Kimarhi is an actual beast, he finally gets his moment in my frontline, and deals so much damage in a single turn he can 3-shot Penance.

      @@georgeguero6138 if you like hidden challenges and exploration to find optional bosses/items then I'd suggest FF12. Ive sunk 250hrs on one run on PS2 and i still havent got half of the stuff lol there's so much side content for example there's a boss that can takes hours to kill and bosses that only spawn after certain conditions (e.g. weather, game clock time etc)

      nope you were always able to go over 9999HP as long as you have break hp limit on your armour. dark aeons drop amour with break hp limit or alternatively you can craft one using 30x wings to discovery which you can get from killing shinryu from monster arena. maybe i should start making guides hahaha
