Can Drake Maye address the routine mistakes for Patriots? | Chris Simms Unbuttoned | NFL on NBC

This is so interesting, it's clear how much these two talk football which each other. What a cool relationship
Isn't that his dad and they both are football guys lmao what did you expect
His mechanics need a LOT of work.. Most of it stems from baseball and not learning football throwing mechanics properly. He's got time to clean it up! New England loves the kid and wants to see him excel!
Yeah his footwork is actually quite good it just got messy from being under siege all year last season
@@spa2damax It's not quite good.. but that's okay because it can improve and I'm sure it will be better by the end of the season. His throwing mechanics are more of an issue then his footwork. He's a baller, He's young and he will definitely improve. He's got a bright future if he puts in the work!
BIG PHIL ... you and Chris should do a weekly NFL Podcast ... and thank you Big Phil .. arm strength should be the FIRST quality you look at in a QB .. thats what my Panthers looked over last year
I watched Drake ball out for NC. He's definitely the upgrade that New England needed from Mac Jones. He can run and gun read the defense well. If he can work on his footwork and refine his short game, he will be a force to be reckoned with.
When he fixes his footwork and refines his short game!!!
You draft 2 qbs.
That's the best plan in my books
Didn’t DC do that with RGIII, and Cousins? And like Washington, the second quarterback drafted will be the better one.
excepy milton-should have taken pratt instead-much better=stupid!
You can't teach the long throws. You can teach short throws.
What really took me by surprise about Drake is the arm strength he displays on deep throws. Many times he throws it on a rope and the ball goes 40-50 and the ball is a laser that only goes like 20 yards vertically. Blows my mind. It means that if he’s running around and the play is extended longer than it should because of pressure, and the wideout has already made his way, way down field, Drake will be able to get the ball there in a hurry and defenders won’t be ready.
If Drake can't handle a little competition from Joe Milton then he isn't "that guy" and better to know early. He should dominate to the point that there is no real competition
Shut up he just got drafted
Seriously, you guys want to rag on Atlanta fine but are we seriously being dramatic about a 6th round quarterback being added for depth or possible trade bait down the line..
@@Brady6xPats wait... are you telling me to shut up? What did I say that could have possibly warranted that? I know he just got drafted
@@kevinmcnamara7021 apologies, I came across a bit strong. But the kid needs time he’s 21. He has all the skills to get to the top and with the right coaching he can get there
@@Brady6xPats Apology accepted (easily the most civil interaction I've seen in a CZcams comment section lol). I agree, I think Drake is going to be good and needs time. I'm just of the mindset that Joe Milton isn't some hugely detrimental piece to Drake's development. Some competition is good.
I keep hearing that quarterback is the most important position in all of sports. If that's true then why does everybody discourage teams from having depth or the future in mind?
@dokedoker3340 fine maybe they are right about Atlanta but do you see how they don't differentiate between giving the Patriots a hard time and giving the Falcons a hard time, they think it's dumb on both fronts.. and I couldn't disagree more.
Go team!
What’s wrong with taking another bite of the apple? It’s all a crapshoot anyway
6 Years of college will make you a better QB to start nfl career. Problem is they are at ceiling and will be worse in NFL
It’s just a little tick, huh? 😏 I hear you Sims, I hear you🤣
Everyone seems scared of Drake and Patriots, they should be. Scary good
The Simms cast
Milton is a late round pick he is a worse version of Drake Maye and people are polarized on Maye himself
Simms once again will be proved WRONG.
First
🙄 oh my god! A rookie quarterback is going to change the face of the franchise! 😂 He won't be any better than Bryce Young,Tommy DeVito,Anthony Richardson or Will Levis
You named 4 qbs. Very impressive, give yourself a gold star.
Maye is the one player I wanted the Pats to avoid like the plague. Waste of a high draft pick. Will be picking another QB in 3 years.
