This is really helpful. Unfortunately, it didn't apply to the specific issue I had with my headphones. Definitely sharing this because it could save people a lot of money. Thanks for taking the time to make this.
You just saved me
I got a pair of headphones for Christmas and I accidentally dropped the two days ago and one of them stopped working
You're my saviour
Thanks for putting this out there! Got a couple of beats from my dad a couple of years ago and almost emidietley broke them! I'll show him this so we can maybe finally fix them!
I've got those kind of headphones but then what do you do when the end part is faulty?
My headphones weren't working, I was crying since I couldn't listen to my favourite song. So with a little throw, down on the ground, it started working!

Only things: 1. I'd test the operation before reassembling, just in case.
2. I'd NOT super-glue the cover to the headphone base, in case of need for future repair.
I have a Cyber Acoustics headset, but it seems if I pull off the earphone cover it'll rip. I'm gonna be brave and hope they attach like yours, only tighter.
Thanks, this worked awesomely. I just had to take it apart, since I dropped my headphones and the audio thing inside it fell out of its slot, so the sound is loud on the left speaker and quiet on the right. I managed to fix it thanks to this. :D
Thank you so much! I don't want to throw out my IHome headsets!
I can hear music with my headphones , but I cannot hear when someone is talking or singing or ...., but when I keep turning the cable , I can hear everything but it must be fixed on the same position and it's too tiring to try to fix it each time and keep holding it

Cool....thanks! Both wires off one side. No solder or gun, but duck taped the very ends down that had a bit of solder on them and its working great now.
I'm about to get headphones and their kinda the same as your just different texture so should i glue it beforehand? Or those that not work

I am shocked, I thought that those internal wires wouldn't be affected by tugging. That there would be some clamp device before the wires meet-up with the loudspeaker part.
.
Thanks for showing us all this good demonstration.

My Computer- 100 volume
My headphones- 100 volume
What I hear- Whispers
"I'll just turn my volume down and back up."
Uses keyboard buttons- No change
Cleans headphone jack- No change
"I'll try turning my volume down and back up again."
Uses the volume change thing on screen- Works
what is the volume change thing on screen?
Hi
I have the same problem, have you figured it out?
Yours is the best video I have seen. Good thing You mentioned screws as my HFI-350 did have screws. All of the wires were soldiered on green board ok ( DJ1-B LG with small 4148*8 )
The left speaker with main wire works, but right speaker does not.
hey do you have any tutorial or diagram for a headset mod? i a trying to change the cable for a 3.5mm trrs female port but dont know the polarity of the connectors...
But the wire was sitting on the right place... still not working. Any ideas?
Open up your jack and check the wires

Thank you so much! I had this problem for 1 year and is forced to use my speaker for gaming, now i can game without disturbing other people!
What kind of electronic spray do you recommend for the dirty headphone port
i have cosonic ct 735...head phone ...all of a sudden right headphone is off, i opened that part no wire is cut off and the other side everything is fine ...how to fix this problem?. my left ear headphone working fine and the volume nob.
thank you for this video! Pretty straightforward and have the same problem as mine! Got it fixed in no time saving me a lot of money from buying a new headphone
I know this is an older video, but I just Had to comment. I panicked when after just a week of owning my Light-up Kitten Ears dj-style headphones, the sound went out cos I forgot I had them plugged in and YANKED as I stood up. I followed your instructions and Thankfully I didn't have to solder anything, the wire just needed a wiggle I guess. Anyhoo, Full sound restored! Thank You!! You snagged a Sub out of me!
I have an over-the-ear set of headphones. The main wire+insulation that connects to the plug has two copper wires and the two wires+insulation that connect to the headphones have 1 copper wire inside each. I'm just not sure which copper to connect to which. Of course the copper goes to copper but, since there are two, I don't know which one each goes to, or if it matters.
if the connections r ok and still not working what should I do
This is why I say sometimes it's good to know something about electronics because you can fix your own stuff and not have to pay who knows how much money to have someone else do it.
uhhh like 20 bucks?
thank you! , video was very helpful and after 10 minutes i was able to fix the damn thing. thanks!
What else can you use the take the side of the headphone off besides a flat screw driver
I watched this video, and by a miracle both of my sides started working again! NO WAY!
does it work with skullcandy
Great- I was able to fix my headphones. Thanks!
That was an amazing tutorial! thanks

So neither of these solution was my problem. I checked on other devices, still the right ear didn't work, I pulled out the speaker, both the wires were connected. Idk what it is.
+Urban McYeti exactly, me too
+Pape Benoit take me in. My problem is all the same. I got a Sony bass boosted headset
I still have the problem, but I just went and bought a new head set that wouldn't break in a week. Got lucky, too. It was a $60 head set that was on sail for $25

I dont have the weird heating thing. Is there other way to heat up the wire?
do i put the cubic fossil on my left diaphix or invert the solution with cannabistic matter?
Thank you❤
Can someone help me ? When I hear music or i can hear the beats (drums) guitar etc but when i hear someone singing, the singing sound are too low, but the beats works perfectly. Any one now how to fix it ? sorry for bad english :/
if you are using a pc with headphones then adjust the equalizer cause drums and singing are on different frequency on equalizer.
check the connection throughout the cable, just had this happen to me. wiggle the cable around until you either hear it fix its self for a brief instance or until you get the full audio back.
my other headphones is like that also. and I understand what you are saying
helLow you need the dentist
Well I like that. I have a pair like that they're amazing
My Skullcandy Agent vintage road headphones have got a problem after I dropped them. The right side doesn't work though the left side(this is were the wire connection is made BTW) works perfectly fine.
But if I hold the wire at the place close to the left headphone ( where it is connected) in a certain position, then it starts working again. I superglued the wire tightly to my headphone in that position , and this helped as a temporary fix for a Month.
Now the right earbud has completely stopped working and doesn't work even if I try changing the position and apply pressure on the wire. :'(
I did what u were instructing and removed the cushion on the right side and unscrewed it, and found that Both the super small thin wires are fixed in place(Properly soldered and secured).
So were do u think is the problem??
Even the 3.5mm jack is in prestine condition(otherwise why would 1 of the earbuds work?)
I bought these headphones 3months ago, and bought them for 49.99$ (I really don't want 50$ headphones to become useless):'(
These headphones are absolutely amazing and I highly recommend them , the bass is also very strong.
I really wanna enjoy these wonderful headphones , but because I dropped them , one side isn't working anymore.
pls Help me pls , and tell me abt what I can do abt this problem.
Thanks in advance :)
So... I got mad while playiong a video game and punched my right ear bud of the headset (Hyper x Cloud revolver S). The audio on the left is perfect and nothing wrong there. My right side however.. Hi. I have a headphone problem and I have been trying to find a way to fix it for a week now. The problem is that I can hear wind noises in the left side of the headphone every time I am in front or near a fan (or any wind source). I tried opening the headphone but I am not able to pin point the cause of the issue. I am using an Avantree Audition Wireless. I'm guessing that it has something to do with the mic but I could be wrong. Also, this issue occurs whether or not the headphone is off or on. I hope you can help me out. Thanks in advance.
I need help!! All the wires are in the correct places and I cant hear anything just static! Plz help
might have a blown speaker. look at the speaker if the ring around the speaker cone is separated then it's bad. check all the wiring and connector.
Tampatec my headset and headphones don't work and you briefly mentioned it in this vid but didn't solve it, the part on the cord that plugs into devices cuts in and out and I don't know what to do, I have to keep adjusting it constantly to keep the sound
Tampatec great, I started poking at the speaker with a screwdriver because of what you said to adjust it and it worked for some reason. Thx I guess?
It's impossible to put the cushion thingy back on once pulled off. Thanks. Thanks a lot 😑
did you find a way to put it back
because i have the same problem
u can open the headphones with out removing the cushion
Glue it lol
Ive put it back lol
o k I agree
How do you put back the soft thing on the hearing part? I accidentally took it off and can't get it back on
Any other alternatives if you dont own a sodder tool?
hi, mine headphones do work....kind of.
The sound on mine is terrible the sound feels like if it was under water. and they dont want to output deep sound, High pitched sound works, but if there is a deep voice, it just gets automatically dampened.
it is not the the laptop or phone because they work just fine with other headphones.
Any ideas what it may be?
Yo I did this and it actually worked wtf there’s no way I feel like I’m an electrical engineer
What kind of wire did you use is that the copper wire?
Hey mate, what if the problem is with the earphone cable, the part that enters the jack. I have to keep mine in a certain position to get both of my earphones working. How is that fixed?
thank you for this tutorial! it helps me alot!
I have those exact same headphones. I think is the conector wire. How do I fixed it? is it fixable?
What are these called??? My sister broke mine and she's going to replace them but I don't know the name

what do you do if the main chord is loose where it's attached to the headphone? I have to wiggle it around to get any sound to play and it only works on the left ear when i do that. I took off both covers and all the wires were connected to the speakers so i was thinking there was something wrong before it split into the two sides.
Thank you so much for making this video but I got a couple questions:
1- what to do if both wires were removed upon impact
2- what can I use instead of solding
Thank you
"It should just peel off." Shit, mine doesn't pull off. Welp I'm stumped.

Pop dat
I opened mines like u did but all the wire's were connected
Sometimes you can have a shorted headphone connector plug-In or it could just simply be a worn-out cord
Sometimes you can use a thick clear rubber cement in a tube or a good quality form of 5 minute epoxy to hold wires to insulate or encapsulate
I have these same ear phones and my problem is the jack. I took it apart but there are 5 wires a blue, green, red, copper and a blue/copper mix one. where exactly should they be placed?
I accidentally sat on one of my jlab bombora headphones while throwing something away and the part where you put over your ears became completely detached and now both sides don't play sound anymore :( and they don't make them anymore please help

could the problem be from the connector it self the thing where u put in the PC output because as I move it something happens in my headphones sometimes they get stronger but now one side doesn't work
What if the cord connecting the left earphone where all the main components are to the right earphone is torn and has been spliced back together but still no sound in the right ear. I have taken the entire thing apart and everything else seems to be in order
Omg this headphone looks exactly like mine, onlu mine is green

Mine is damaged at the jack. There is a blue, red, green, copper, and a striped (red/copper) wire. Green is left audio, blue is right audio and those only work If the striped wire is connected. Any idea on what the striped, red and copper wire are?
This is great! It’d be excellent to see you working on newer models also

Hey Thanks a lot man, this was very much helpful.
What can I do if its the cable slightly under the headset on your Logitech G35. I gently straighten or twist the cable about an inch under the headset, this puts sound back into the right piece momentarily at very precise points. I guess it's open up and find out, and likely be unable to fix, or ask your advice on the subject. Hope you or someone else has some help. Thanks :)
