The better one is the one you don't have. Human nature.
😂💔
Nope. I've got a Tele and this video proves to me that Teles are superior.
Strats are great too don't get me wrong. Just not my vibe.
Much like being married 😂

You sir…. are living your best life! 😃
@@Tsuka-bn8hq thank you. I am. I also have a gibson sg, a prs se, a couple Ibanezes, and a few others but I play and love them all. the two fenders are my favorites

Absolutely 💯. Rock on.

Fuck yeah. As a kid I lived the strat, and I still do but I grew to love the look and sound of the tele more. Luckily, we live in a world in which we can have both
There is no "better",there is different tone.A different guitar for different tone.No best guitar player etc.
And with all those effect processors nowadays..you hardly can tell what guitar is played.
I'm sure he means "which one do you think is better." hence why he didn't say "this is the better choice"
except the Tele is better so there is a better 😂
Yep, spot on sport! Clapton plays Strats all the time now, but his best in my opinion was on his 335! Which God tone do you prefer, Zeppelin 1 or 2? There is no best, i know this much, i can pick up a Strat one day and hate it, days later i love it, same with LP, Tele, 335 style, just depends on mood, music, and feel.
Effects processors aren’t a “nowadays” thing. They’ve been around for decades, and they’re almost all based on tricks that were used when people used to record to actual tape.
@@markhill9275exactly the same for myself.
I love the strat, my first ever guitar and great for whatever you wanna play.
Amen
No guitar is great for whatever. For instance, a Strat would be terrible for high gain tone.

I have both. The strat is more versatile. The tele is a bit more punchy.
I have both, and love them both…. But if I had to chose the Tele. It can be made to sound even better with two free mods. #1 take off the cover off the neck pickup, #2 wire the pickups for series in the middle position. Those two mods make it just as versatile as a Strat, but sounds even better….
neither, it is not a competition. They are both great!
I really can't choose, I've played my brother's squire stray for a long time and now i bought myself a squire tele, I love both so much
Why not both! Squier make such great guitars nowadays!
Just to ask, did you get to try the Squier John 5 Teles? The gold version and the black with mirror pickguard versions are some of the best guitars Squier has EVER offered!! Super worth trying one out if you ever happen to get the opportunity. Not easy to track down however since floor models don’t last long before someone simply buys it after randomly trying it out!
Split the difference. Get a Nashville Tele and the middle pickup with 5 way switch will give you Strat tones down the middle as well as classic Tele bridge and neck. If you can live without a trem, you'll get the excellent tuning stability of a Tele as well.
That's what I did.
I don’t use them super often, but I hate not having access to the trem just because it’s another degree of freedom to use. Just because normally you can’t drop the pitch unless you’re letting go of a bend.
Both are really great guitars. Really its a matter of taste. Its like asking which is better blondes or brunettes.
So... which is which?
Blondes
Brunettes
blonettes
That’s why redheads exist ;)
Neck pickup on a strat is unmatched.
My favorite guitar is the one I’m currently holding.
This. This is the way
Just get both. I usually try to go 3-4 years without buying a new guitar anymore. But if you have played a long time just treat yourself and get both along with an epi Les Paul. The Mexican fenders are insane quality and the epi LP with a good setup is all you’ll really ever need.
Strat, and R.I.P. to a strat master, the legend Jeff Beck.
also a Tele master
I have 2 Strats and a Tele, and all I wanna do now is practice til I can get these tones. It's 9 o'clock at night! You're gonna get me in trouble with my neighbors!

@@davilessa3928 That sounds dope!!! Plus I'd be able to get my Spanish back up
Tele sounds too classic, and that's why I'm getting it.
Idk man the tele just vibes with me more
Telecaster you can use all of the pickup positions. God help you if you ever accidentally put your Stratocaster to the bridge pickup only.
Touché
I use my bridge pickup with the tone rolled down to 7-8 with my Tube Screamer pedal with tone at 1 O’Clock (6) for lead often and it sounds great!
I do mostly live on the neck pickup though, and especially for rhythm.
@@stoneglad Forgive me as I've not owned an S-style guitar in a while, but aren't the two tone knobs wired to the neck and middle pickups, not the bridge?
@@Celestion321 You can wire it to be on the bridge and neck. Some of them come that way stock as well.

You can tell right away which is which without even looking. That classic Tele sound paired with that classic Strat sound. So iconic.
I have both. For a long time was strictly tele but there’s some things they just can’t do. Telecaster is a blank canvas though which I like. It doesn’t impose its sound on you the way a Stratocaster does.
Great way of putting it
Tele all day, I have a Ampro 2 in 3 tone sunburst it’s a hell of a guitar
Strato sound + Tele body = Perfection
Just so different. They both have amazing tones. I had a beautiful avri 62 tele but sadly traded it away years back. Now I have a 62 Strat which I love and I play in tribute to my tele…
The Tele, always the Tele, any genre, any day of the week!
I like the Gibson one.
lmfao
Surprised how many comments are going with the tele. I’ve always loved the sound of a strat neck, but I’m currently building a tele so maybe I’ll love that too :)
I love them equally. They certainly have their own sound and purposes to fulfil. But definitely American Fenders over anything. Always my go-to guitars
Both are great, but the Tele is my dessert island guitar. Fender seems to have gotten it right on the first try.
I already have Strat and I’ve been playing my Strat for 20years so Now I want good Tele

I HIGHLY recommend the Squier John 5 Telecaster. Either in gold or black. Truly amazing guitars for the price!!
@@kidwajagstang thanks man I will think about that John 5 tele
Tele for me, the neck pickup still has that hollow, crisp bite but has this deeper voice to it. The bridge pickup is perfect for all genres. It really is a versatile instrument given that the aftermarket parts available to turn it into your one of a kind rivals that of strats
Have both. Love both.
I own US versions of both. There is no one better than the other. They may offer better situational options for different players. But I find that each inspires me to play differently.
I think we'd have to agree with you on that one Todd!
They're actually very different.
I always go for the strat for comfort and sheer versatility but... the tele is a basic, no nonsense axe that has it's own signature twang.
Rock on 🤘
I have them both. I love them both.
Ive bought almost every model of Fender. I could never fall in love with a strat.
Ive narrowed my inventory down to 4 I love (American professional jazzmaster, American performer telecaster, Kurt Cobain Jaguar, and Kurt Cobain Jagstang) As you see, 3 of my 4 are offsets.
I luv the Teles country twang
i personally prefer the tele. it’s so versatile too
I have both a squire Stratocaster (my first guitar.) and a telecaster hollowbody thinline they both sound great
There's a reason I have two of each. Well, one's an Esquire, but I can't enough of that bridge pickup.
Teles pop out better, but I like my Strat too.
I think my ears will always have a preference for the tele sound. Would I complain if I was stuck playing one or the other? No, both are great.
I have both, Stratocaster relic 57" and Telecaster reissue 52"… Awesome guitars…
They each have a unique sound that you just gotta have both!
I actually really love the sound of the middle pickup of a Strat, and what you did is removing it from the vid.
Ooops, sorry!
Telecaster ❤️
I love the Strat for being my gateway to a Tele when I moved the middle pickup to the neck position and split the humbucker to the outer coil giving me that Tele homage that's been my fun tone 22yrs prior to actually playing a Telecaster that sounded exactly like my reconfigured Strat with both PU's. That Fender Classic 50s Telecaster was unfortunately sold the next day but two months later at a local pawnshop where a traditional formula of a Tele discovered me and became my very 1st Tele.
Six years later, I added two Teles and three Strats and upgraded each one to my liking so for me it's a definite win-win!
You need one of each and also a Les Paul, SG or E335. With one of each of these three, all bases and all music genres are covered !
And some acoustics
I was literally thinking the same shit
Tele
I really love both. Oddly enough, I only own one strat. A nice usa select model. But own half a dozen teles, most of them squiers.
I own both, and it would be really hard to choose one over the other.I love the looks of both, and each one has their own tone, but if i had to choose one,it would be my tele bya slight margin.
I heard a forbidden song! 😛

Dang you make both sound great in their uniqueness. Poor comparison.😉
Great job!
I love the higher output of the Telecaster rear pickup. Sounds great through a broken up amp and allows for easy pinch harmonics - Also sits better in the stage or recording mix
My preference is the Strat, but the Telecaster is a great guitar also.
For me it's the telecaster, I have had both but I always seem to sell the strats and keep my telecaster, great video and comparison 👍🏆.
Both are bad ass guitars.
I don't see a way for either of them to say "this one is better", both of them have their own beauty, colour and refinement. 🙂 If I had enough money, I would have bought them both. 😁😊
They're both awesome! They're completely different guitars with different voicings, especially because they've got different pups. I would definitely want both, but if I were in a position where I had to choose, I'd pick the Strat.
Position 2: You get a shiver in the dark, and it's raining in the park, but meantime...
LSL make a “Mongrel” that is half tele and half strat. I have one. Love it. It’s familiar. It’s unique. It’s classic. It’s weird. It’s beautifully made. It’s a mongrel.
I love both, for different reasons. None is « better » than the other, they are different instruments. The Tele is so genially simple and straightforward , probably more versatile, and the treble PU cuts in like no other, but who can resist the idiosyncratic sounds of the Strat, its ergonomy and its looks? I use the Tele more often, but can’t do without my Strat nearby.
I need both.
I love the sound of the strat more but also love the body style of the tele more but love both. I guess just swapp the pickups lol

BOTH!
Both are equally amazing instruments they just both have a different nature or style. But in my opinion I gotta give it to the strat because you can always find that amazing SRV neck pickup sound.
Telecaster. All day long!
💯🤟
I have one of each and have been playing the Tele a lot more recently. I would say that each one is better for different uses: I'll use the Strat when I want some really crisp, quacky funk tones, or anything really bright and sizzly, and actually my band's guitarist is a Strat player so I'll use it to get closer to his tone, too. The Tele I find more useful if I'm playing rock 'n' roll, blues, or midwest emo, which are my three favorite genders.
The twist is that both of these guitars are actually modded Yamaha Pacificas. Most people don't know that there have actually been T-type Pacificas in the past, and they're bloody hard to find, but I actually managed to get my hands on one. And now having played it, I can see why there are so few of them on the used market: it cost me $250, but feels and sounds as good as a real Fender.
My original 🎸 is an 🇺🇸 strat ( which I still have) and now I'm looking for something different... checked out a few Mex telecaster but they didn't do anything for me. Then I checked out an 🇺🇸 professional 2 telecaster Miami Blue and I fell in love. A different 🎸 from my strat but I was looking for something different
They are complimentary imo
There is nothing like position 5, tone slightly rolled back, hammering on, sliding, pulling off, and little 5ths on the E, A, and D strings on a strat. Like Iced Tea after a long day working outside in the hot southern sun.
But I'm a software developer in upstate NY who hasn't done manual labor since I was a teen laborer for my mason dad.
The real secret of the strat is the middle pickup. Try position 3 and you’ll see.
I'm absolutely in love with the tele sound and shape, but I'll start with a strat. I'm pretty much a beginner since I'm finally allowed to play the guitar after ages, but my teacher and everyone else think it'd be better to buy a strat first since they've usually got these cheap starter packs and all. But once I get older and a little more advanced as well, I won't hesitate to get a tele. They're absolutely amazing to me
My Solution -
First > Nashville Tele
Second > Tele Ultra
Third > MusicMan Strat
Ie. Unintentionally never commit to an actual Standard Model and evade the Strat volume knob at all costs. 😂 _BTW Shoutout to the Jazzmaster…just got one. 😍_
I'm a full on guitar addict. If I had more money, I'd have more guitars. But if I had to have only one guitar, it would be my Strat. The tonal variation is great, you can get so many different sounds. The only negative is the middle pickup getting in the way sometimes. So I have the middle pickup lower and it doesn't have any negative affect. Plus, the design of the neck to headstock joint is so strong they don't break if they tip over. And if for some reason you do break the neck, you just buy another one and put it on. 5 minutes. Ya, the strat is gorgeous, sounds great, plays great, there's millions of aftermarket parts, bullet proof, and timeless.
Yes please..
Tele all day. I have two. One with EMG pickups it’s a Jim Root signature
I love them both ❤
Definitely both.
Comparing apples and onions. Both are good, both are very versatile, and both most definitely have their limitations too.

Both are awesome in their respective lanes!
The warmth of the strat always wins me over!
