Lightsaber colors do have a part in the lightsaber universe like blue is for the less force users and more of the lightsaber fighting and green is for more of the strong force users than dueling with a lightsaber

Each color has a unique sound effect based on color and where that color is from. Green is Luke's ROTJ saber sound, Blue the OG lightsaber sound effect from ANH.
With how good this game plays and the customisation of the lightsaber it makes me excited to see what they could do with a sequel game, more styles of lightsaber, different fighting styles, new force powers etc Great video btw 👍

If you played Star Wars Galaxies before and unlocked Jedi , there was a pretty in depth lightsaber customization as well. You'll craft your lightsaber, choose your hilt/color crystal and even add Krayt pearls for additional damage.
Useful tip: the double-blade mode has a nifty interaction when redirecting blaster fire. If you time it for a parry to send the blast back at the firing trooper, Cal will auto-parry all blockable blaster bolts that follow shortly after the manually parried shot. Don't know if it works the same for melee parries.
you always auto-parry when holding the parry button however you don't get the option to strike back and it will lower your parry "health" bar it was explained in the game

I love how Respawn modeled the Lightsaber customization in Jedi: Fallen Order after the Lightsaber crafting in Savi’s Workshop at Galaxy’s Edge, as well as how Disney has canonized Cal in Savi’s Workshop. It’s just little things like that make all Star Wars content feel connected.

In the EU the Red Saber is synthetic and can generate a stronger blade then traditional Jedi lightsabers. The Synthetic crystal blades can sometimes break the blades of natural ones. The draw backs are they are harder to handle.

You should never tie upgrades to cosmetics. What if the most powerful thing you really need is ugly? Even if it’s cool to most people some people will find it ugly and not want to use it, but if it’s a powerful and important item that sucks. They made the decision to have all of these cosmetic choices, making each of them have different statistics would just overcomplicate things and I think it would have completely changed and messed up the balancing of the game

There is kind of. Just as Amazing Gamer said. Technical there is the option, but only after a hours. Furthermore the dual wielding is a special attack like the saber throw. The attack pattern of this two hit combo depends on the blade you have equipped when attacking. Meaning that if you have only one blade activated it is different from the attack you do when using the double blade

Lightsabers have shadows, you can see they do in Luke is vader in episode 6, although it's obviously just the stick in the saber before effects I suppose it just makes it cannon that they cast a shadow. That being said, I praise the attention to detail
several of the lightsaber parts from galaxy's edge are in the game power and control for example is one of the lightsaber building sets at savi's work shop

Battle Front 2? That was never a single player experience in the true sense. They just lifted their multiplayer mechanics and shoved that into the single player campaign. A jarring mess. This game (Fallen order) however is built from the ground up in a single player environment.
Btw just some advice don’t use the double lightsaber on enemies that have stances to break because once u break it u can’t get the one hit kill like u can with the single blade only use the double on certain bosses and trash enemies
My favorite thing to do when riding elevators in the game is to activate the double saber and change to single and back until the ride is finnished then activate double if not already on it and turn it off

Let me give you a run down on what some of the lightsabers (in my opinion) mean to me : Blue lightsabers : Nostalgic and very cool looking although it's the first lightsabers you hold it is still pretty decent. Green lightsaber : you are more of a skilled player than when you first started and look more threatening when faced off against an enemy. Cyan : you're more advanced in the ways of force and fighting ability and make enemies fear you Purple lightsaber : you are a Jedi master and even the sound of you're breathing makes you're enemies want to run in the opposite direction, one of the most scariest yet most balanced and advanced lightsaber. Orange lightsaber : very cool looking while matching the colour of Cal kestis hair although makes you look like a noobie.
I feel like they missed a huge opportunity here. I'm grateful for the customizations but I feel like the various components should influence Blocking, parrying, maneuverability(handling), force drain etc. This game is incredibly difficult and being able to tweak your saber to match your playstyle instead of being forced to adapt to the incredibly unforgiving parry system would have made this game far more accessible and enjoyable. I still love the game and am glad that an EA product is this polished but if there's a sequel I want to see this implemented.
Andrew. There are light sabers that have different strength properties but it was because of who it was built for. Chewbacca has a nephew who becomes a Jedi. Because if his strength and raw physical power he had to use bronze instead of a Chrystal in his light saber. It did make it easier for him to use and it did make the blade stronger
Best color is yellow, so far its the only one I've found to have a different sound when emitting the blade. Try it for yourself and you'll see how badass it is.
Never seen before in any Star Wars game. Everyone is forgetting KOTOR where you literally did exactly that and it was a main point of the plot in both games

The fact that upgrades are cosmetic only, makes me ask 'what's the point?' Form has its uses sure, but really we need functional upgrades. Working hard to solve a problem should reward you with s stronger weapon. And yes, what type of crystal used, emitter etc does impact power output - meaning not all lightsabers are the same. I write this because I just started playing this game, and see this upgrade mechanic is a waste of time. The only valid weapon upgrade is the dual saber for crowd control. Thank you for creating this video. It helped answer the question I was looking for.

I LOVe this game, but it also makes me want a more Mass Effect/Kotor touch. Basically I want more. I would love if had more epic recruiting of partners, rpg elements etc. That said, I am very happy and maybe, just maybe, Respawn (a dev that defies EA’s BS), will be allowed to make the next Kotor.

In the pre-order I also got a full umbaran and mygeeto campaign customisation. They really helped with shaping my personal lightsaber.
I loved customization in this game. Got even better after you could have different emitters in front and back! Favorit colour is cyan for sure!
You can actually get the double bladed lightsaber as early as Bogana on Eno Cordovas work bench.
And this is much easier to achieve during the early game compared to Dathomir. Dathomir is TOUGH!

Battle Front 2? That was never a single player experience in the true sense. They just lifted their multiplayer mechanics and shoved that into the single player campaign. A jarring mess.
This game (Fallen order) however is built from the ground up in a single player environment.
Fallen order is great. I played it 26 hirs in the last two days. Wirds cannot describe how amazing that game is

You could change the color. In this game you can change every part of the lightsaber.
Btw just some advice don’t use the double lightsaber on enemies that have stances to break because once u break it u can’t get the one hit kill like u can with the single blade only use the double on certain bosses and trash enemies

mini fridge yellow, purple, cyan, magenta and indigo. Including blue, green and the pre order orange I think that’s it. I decided to use Indigo :).
My favorite thing to do when riding elevators in the game is to activate the double saber and change to single and back until the ride is finnished then activate double if not already on it and turn it off

@@TheRogueEight yes it is lol. That's how your suppose to get it I think since it gave me dialogue while doing it XD. When you get it on Dathomir it doesn't give the dialogue so you miss out on why he makes the double blade.
Let me give you a run down on what some of the lightsabers (in my opinion) mean to me :
Blue lightsabers : Nostalgic and very cool looking although it's the first lightsabers you hold it is still pretty decent.
Green lightsaber : you are more of a skilled player than when you first started and look more threatening when faced off against an enemy.
Cyan : you're more advanced in the ways of force and fighting ability and make enemies fear you
Purple lightsaber : you are a Jedi master and even the sound of you're breathing makes you're enemies want to run in the opposite direction, one of the most scariest yet most balanced and advanced lightsaber.
Orange lightsaber : very cool looking while matching the colour of Cal kestis hair although makes you look like a noobie.
I feel like they missed a huge opportunity here. I'm grateful for the customizations but I feel like the various components should influence Blocking, parrying, maneuverability(handling), force drain etc. This game is incredibly difficult and being able to tweak your saber to match your playstyle instead of being forced to adapt to the incredibly unforgiving parry system would have made this game far more accessible and enjoyable. I still love the game and am glad that an EA product is this polished but if there's a sequel I want to see this implemented.

Andrew. There are light sabers that have different strength properties but it was because of who it was built for. Chewbacca has a nephew who becomes a Jedi. Because if his strength and raw physical power he had to use bronze instead of a Chrystal in his light saber. It did make it easier for him to use and it did make the blade stronger

Best color is yellow, so far its the only one I've found to have a different sound when emitting the blade. Try it for yourself and you'll see how badass it is.

Never seen before in any Star Wars game. Everyone is forgetting KOTOR where you literally did exactly that and it was a main point of the plot in both games
Ben Fletcher yeah you could dual wield go single blade or have a double sided lightsaber as well as have companions with the same with so many feats to make your own type of fighting. KOTOR has more customization than Fallen Order by the looks of it

Victor Schreiber good side light side neutral with no followers, my favorite followers, support, no force run, and total damage. Yes I beat it a lot and it’s still one of my favorite games to pass time
The fact that upgrades are cosmetic only, makes me ask 'what's the point?'
Form has its uses sure, but really we need functional upgrades. Working hard to solve a problem should reward you with s stronger weapon.
And yes, what type of crystal used, emitter etc does impact power output - meaning not all lightsabers are the same.
I write this because I just started playing this game, and see this upgrade mechanic is a waste of time. The only valid weapon upgrade is the dual saber for crowd control.

I don't understand how showing you just the customisation options spoils the story. It doesn't lol. Some people were just disappointed that the title does not match up to what was delivered in the video. The practice is commonly known as clickbait.

It is. If you've seen the Clone Wars TV show, you'll sometimes see Asajj Ventress combine her curved lightsabers into one double-bladed AND curved lightsaber at the same time

On my second playthrough, I found that you can obtain the double bladed upgrade on kashyyk right before the second sister bossfight
I loved it so much I finished it in 3 days
I LOVe this game, but it also makes me want a more Mass Effect/Kotor touch. Basically I want more. I would love if had more epic recruiting of partners, rpg elements etc.
That said, I am very happy and maybe, just maybe, Respawn (a dev that defies EA’s BS), will be allowed to make the next Kotor.
