What are my opinions of Every MLB Mascot? People always ask me which MLB Mascot is the best and which MLB Mascot is the worst, so I made a video today giving you my MLB Mascot rankings. Let me know what your favorite MLB Mascot is in the comment section!

Yankees had a mascot, his name was Dandy and he was made by the people who created the Phanatic and Youppi of the Expos. He lasted 3 years mostly because he was confined to the top decks of old Yankee stadium instead of walking around the ballpark. In 1981 his lease went up and he left the team. The Angels had a pair of generic bear mascots around the Disney era of their team and the Dodgers have bobblehead mascots that roam around Dodger stadium

Dodgers are named the dodger because in Brooklyn ppl would jump out in front of cars then try to avoid them, they were called dodgers. So when the dodgers were in New York. U get it.

Minnesota Twins: Minneapolis and St. Paul are nicknamed the "twin cities"
Milwaukee Brewers: the city has a long history of brewing beer, namely Miller Brewing Company
Arizona Diamondbacks: diamondback rattlesnakes are closely associated with the state of Arizona and the desert
Colorado Rockies: Rocky Mountains run through Colorado
Washington Nationals: DC is the capital of the United States

Giants are called that because the owner thought they were great.
Phillies comes from the Philadelphia nickname of Phillie.
Mariners because Seattle is an important port
Astros because NASA's mission control is in Houston.
Rangers because the Texas Rangers were lawmen in the Texas old west.

Giants fan here, and Lou Seal's the mascot because the OG San Francisco team was a minor league team named the Seals, until 1957 when the New York Giants came to San Francisco. Love your videos man!

So two stories regarding mascots (From a Nats Fan)
1. During the inaugural season at Nats Park (2008), there was a bald eagle nest up on the scoreboard. One of the eggs hatched during a game, and let out a loud "screech" and that's why the Nats have a bald eagle named Screech as their mascot.
2. When I was at the red carpet for the All Star Game this past year, the mascots were all there, and they were also tossing giveaways like shirts, and balls into the crowd. One of the things being given out were baseball cards, and in one of the packs was a Philly Phanatic card. I decided to show the card to the Phanatic, and I got a huge kiss from the Phanatic and his massive snout. I have been a changed man ever since

Since all the games that I went to as a kid were at GABP I always thought it was normal for a team to have four mascots so when I found out that they didn't I was so shocked.

The Pirates used to have a pirate mascot back in my younger days(2005-2011ish) they just stopped with him, his name was Jolly Roger.

I'm a Cardinals fan by trade, but Orbit has the best personality of any mascot in the game. He's such a people/player-entity, the way he's always interacting with people (like Beltre, Miggy, and so on) has kept me a fan for years.

For what it's worth, the reason the SF Giants mascot [Lou seal} is a seal is actually to honor the San Francisco Seals {who was a minor league baseball team in the Pacific Coast League from 1903-1957}. Quite a few players played on the Seals before moving on to the Majors {perhaps most notably was Joe DiMaggio}.

Blooper is a probably a lama, just look at him closely. His ears are like lamas just more funny shaped, what looks like his nose is his snout, he has a long neck, and his fur is tan. But I can a sure you that he ain’t no drama lama.
Years before anyone saw the antics of the Phillie Phantic, the San Diego Padres had the San Diego Chicken. He was the originator of a crazy sports mascot that the PP copied. Due to legal rights of the chicken suit, we don’t see it anymore.

I agree with most of them except for the pirates parrot it is a very original mascot. He is always friendly and he has a baby pirate!
The pirates did had another mascot, which was a pirate, it went by the name "jolly roger". He didn't last long, only for about a few seasons. Nice one though. He paired well with the pirate parrot (that's how you're supposed to pronounce his name, not pirate the parrot).

I kinda wish the Yankees had a mascot, but idk what they’d do and at this point they’re so deep and historic without one i don’t really see the point anymore. I guess most New York teams don’t see the point in mascots either 😂 my favorite mlb mascot has to be the Rockies mascot though. Also I wish Arizona had an actual diamondback snake as their mascot
