it always baffled me how the intro music to this game sounded like TACO - PUTTING ON THE RITZ, for no reason at all, not a clue.

Not only am I amongst the three who got that Baron Munchausen reference, but that's the name that immediately popped into my mind before I heard you say it.

So happy to FINALLY freaking hear someone with the cajones to do a Adventures of Barron Munchausen reference! 😜

This show is like watching Ernest P. Worrell review games... Not like it's a bad thing. I actually think that using him as a character basis is a pretty novel idea. Hamming up the acting even more wouldn't hurt in this case.

The adventures of a deformed human with some super jumping abilities, minus the ability to look down.
Experience a Mega Man level of difficulty platformer, not because of enemies, but you will die the same amount of times, where the enemy is gravity and the leap of faith combo.
More spikes than a super mario maker customized level where you spin on spikes the whole time, but without the ability to bounce off.
With special guest star. Fruit Ninja, in its video game debut.
Collect more fruit than Donkey Kongs hoarde.
Transverse more heights and depths than Celeste, which clearly is a spiritual successor.
Unravel the secrets of the mysterious wormholes. A concept fully realized for Sonic the hedgehog's chaos emeralds.
Swim under water in a more difficult and less forgiving environment than super mario bros.
Dodge, ride, bounce off of canonballs. This early prototype was considered to be too difficult to include in super mario bros 3.
Can you collect every single fruit, dodge every single canon, avoid all the spikes, swim through the depths, and dive from the greatest heights for the ultimate leap of faith?!
For whom the bell tolls this summer!
(In the game critics say may have been the inspiration for assassins creed.)
    The King of the Cathedrals
    The Belle of the Bells
His name literally mean half formed, give it up for the man the myth our hero, the one who seeks out sanctuary for all.

Thanks to that bonehead journalist, I’ll never trust Wikipedia reviews of 30 year old gameboy games again!

I think one of my cousins had this! I hadn't thought about it in years. We had no idea what we were doing back then. Game's pretty obtuse, hey?

This video has a devent thumbnail.decentish. i hate the style, but its what ppl sre clicking on. Change the rest of your videos thumbnails and youll see the videos start to take off. Using stock art for old games doesnt work anymore and ppl skip right by without even looking st the title

    Uuuum...
    I'm confused.
You titled this "a forgotten gem"... But nothing about this video makes this game sound like a gem. You spent most of the video criticizing the game, describing how flawed and generally bad it is, and still saying that it's supposedly good.

I'm playfully roasting the game, yes. But not because it's bad, because it can be frustrating the first time you play it - many great games are frustrating in places. I do recommend this game.

Funny I actually found this game recently at a retro toy shop, I had to buy it as I was one of the weird kids who thought hunchbacks were cool, before Disney made the the cartoon. XD

    This game is a 2D Proto-Dark Souls.

I upvote for Munchausen references. But man, this game does not seem like much fun. I had been curious about it ever since I saw the boxart way back when in ads, but this seems like such a chored emanding constant leaps of faith with obtuse rules that could kill you at any time. Not a fan.

I'd recommend trying it out for yourself if you can find it (or a rom of it). I suspect you'll enjoy it more than you think. Thanks for watching!
