I grew up with someone who was a co-founder of a recovery center. However, being a kid I wasn't exactly interested in retaining anything I had learned, so here I am. I am now 16 years sober from my addiction, and I just finished an undergraduate program in university. I feel as though opening a recovery center is something desperately important these day; as I have noticed an increase in addictions and addiction related deaths in the city I currently live in. As well, in my own active addiction I saw a lot of things that I can never forget. Having lost so many friends and family to addictions, I want to do my part to help break the cycle and help get people clean, sober, and active in recovery. I'm just not sure how to get it started, other than my motivation.

My motive is to create a rehab that uses current evidence based means to help people change their lives. The archaic strategies that are commonly used are often more harmful then they are helpful. Science should be leading the fight against addiction not anecdotes.

Of course making money would be a motive but investing in the lives of others by helping them change their way of thinking is the true blessing and the true success of any treatment center.

I finally will receive my LCDC; my motive is providing a service in a passionate way to the youth. I have experience in working with children in foster care...am fond of the emotional intelligence it is gained through their trauma experience. I have never been drunk, nor experienced any type of drug...I do know it is one of the most challenging habits to break. Addiction is and does change the brain. I grew up in an environment in which males were commonly drunks and in unhealthy relationships. My specialty in working with the youth is being a mother to adult children dealing with their own devices...paternal side are heavy drinkers; in addition applying the skillstreaming for adolescents. To God be the Glory :)
Sooo...now I am searching for the best advice to turn my Texas child care center to a cousenling center for youth with addictions. I feel I am so close!

The intent of the mission must be pure. Well said…… A non-profit 5⭐️ addiction recovery hospital/hospitals would be amazing. With soo many families touched by addiction there would be plenty of donations to keep a facility/facilities operational, maybe even a nationwide tax program to also help funding? So many people could be helped.

I too am in recovery and found my calling in ensuring addicts/alcoholics have safe places to go for help; achievable by helping individuals/entrepreneurs/investors to open successful ETHICAL quality facilities.
From start to finish, and thereafter; we do it all.
I'd love to hear more about your project and if this is something you are still looking to do.
