The secret is in Spoon's expertise at blueprinting and balancing Honda engines. The internals are OEM parts but meticulously balanced w/ losing their strength
the Spoon/Mooncraft hardtop is sexy!! If I had an S2k... I'd rock that hardtop in dry carbon!
Just like the pro racing teams do, well, Spoon is a race team for that matter. Less weight, less friction from the rotating assembly equals HP!

@Toki52 no it's just a custom tach. they use this tach in their super taikyu s2000 as well. it may be a spoon product

@Toki52 it's an aftermarket STACK cluster with analog tachometer and digital readouts for temp, pressure, etc.

yeah thats what he was saying. but the spoon parts will most likely be made with tougher materials, that's why he says its safe to their kit to 9k, while the f22 is limited at 8k

Not a fan of that hardtop, but otherwise what a f'n fantastic car. Even if the power gains are not huge, they are efficient horses paired with a lighter body and substantial suspension changes. This car is a scalpel on the track.

@detroitballer86 This car is custom-made though, not production. It's not that hard to get that kind of power from Honda engines. It's what, 25 "ps" (anorexic horses) over normal s2000, nothing crazy. I bet this car makes no more than about 220 wheel horsepower on American DynoJet.

@TakumiFuji01 yeah you jerk FOR F20C NOT F22C.F20 has a 9k red and this stroker kit increases the displacement up to aprx 160cc but lowers the redline from 9k to 8,5k thats what i said!!!!!

+I Ren torque trumps the extra 500 rpms. Going from ap1 to ap2 myself I didn't mind losing that "ermahgerd 9000 rpms!" feeling for the added torque.

+Hammerman1234567 Yes I think so. But K24 rod-to-stroke ratio is more optimal AFAIK, better to swap the bottom end if you can. (Theoretically I heard the most optimal for high-revving would be to have a K24 taller bottom end and larger bore destroked to 2.0L displacement -- to optimise rod-to-stroke ratio as much as possible -- but people always want more displacement (AND more revs, lol) of course!)
+TassieLorenzo pretty much what I've heard is for rev monster engines the k20 is the best base and then you can throw a stroker crank in it or whatever. the k20 is gonna rev more I think but the 24 is gonna have more torque.
+TassieLorenzo I would get a s2000 stroker crank, like a 92 mm stroke, and machine the snout off to match a k24, then match it to the block using longer rods. By my calculations R/s ratio would be close to 1.7, good for revving to 9k everyday.

8500 redline??????....you have to be kidding...J's racing stroker kit and Toda stoker kit can rev up to 9000rpm safely.....if i wanted a 8500 rpm redline i would buy a civic type-r with a k20 engine not a S2k.....S2k magic is the screaming of its motor reaching 9000 redline....
