Can a beginner ride a road bike? Is a road bike easy to ride?
Beginners can definitely ride a road bike. There will be a few minor hurdles to overcome initially, in particular, adjusting to the narrow tyres, the narrow drop bars, harder seats, clipless pedals (if you have them), bike handling and a larger amount of gears, however, a road bike is easy to ride. It will just take a little bit of time and practice before you are confident riding a road bike.
If you are a beginner with little bike experience, then it is usually best to start off with a road bike equipped with flat pedals. Roll around in a quiet street and/or on very smooth road surfaces to get used to the feel of a road bike and the narrow tyres. For most beginners with some previous bike experience, it won’t take long to adjust to a road bike at all.
Using flat pedals instead of clipless pedals is a great way to start out on the road. For most beginners clipless pedals will take the most amount of time to adjust to. By following these tips, you will be able to adjust to clipless pedals in no time. After a few practice rides and with greater confidence, you should be able to step up and use clipless pedals out in general traffic.
It's funny how they criticize the sava chinese brand when almost all well known brand of bikes are made in china or taiwan.
Bought Sava Herd 6.0. Bike store put it together and I have 2.5K miles from the last summer and 500 miles in last 6 weeks on it. All rides with my cycling club. NO ISSUES. It's a really really good bike with genuine components.
I bought a Sava twin, Kootu, with Ultegra R8000 groupset two years ago. Had over 2000 miles, not a single issue.
I call BS on all of this. I just recently bought a phantom 3.0 had a local bike shop put it together. After taking it out on its first trail ride it’s the best money I ever spent on carbon period.
Thanks for sharing.
please share link to your bike?
Alibaba link perhaps?
Owned mine for 3 years and love it ,under $3000 delivered to my front door you guys need to compare apples with apples obviously it won’t compare to a $15000 bike but it’s full carbon and a blast to ride

That hub wobble from being drilled off center is something I experienced with a Shimano Dura-Ace hub a couple of years back. I returned the wheels and got another set which were fine. Any manufacturer can make a mistake but make sure you get a good warranty when you buy your parts.
I have sava colorado and it's great. Best budget bike ever..
This is interesting. I was looking at one of their models thinking, worst case scenario I would have a decant drivetrain. Good job 👍 keep up the great work.
glad, this video was informative for you
Had my Sava for 4 years, no issues with the carbon frame and fork.
I think this channel has a bias against smaller China brands.
i am planning to buy SAVA R08-R8020-22S it's look ok to me please advice.
@@Reflection_Wave_2023 I have. KOOTU for three years. KOOTU and Sava are from the same factory, like Toyota and Lexus.
Three years and 8K miles, not a single problem.
@@williamko4751 Thanks i will look forward 😇
get it, should come with carbon wheelset. If you are not worried not riding a big brand bike, this tool is a multi in the bike 🌍
I've had my sava 3 years, and I've rode 3k miles on it, runs great.
your wheel and novatec hub's performance is good? not tremor?
Perspective matters, he is comparing Sava to first world European Carbon, so you need to take things into perspective. Specialized and Cannondale etc also use cheap ass 3rd world Carbon frames in most of their bikes, their Quality Control will be better than Sava but doesn't change the fact that their bikes are also cheap trash which they charge a lot of money for. What about all those cyclists now riding "Pinarello" yeah right more like Chinarello clones as if most of these people can even afford a real Pinarello. Interestingly the Chinarello runs quite fine which are the same or worse quality than Sava. The biggest benefit of SAVA is they use Grey Market Shimano Products, it's real shimano products but for a lot less money due to regional pricing.
@@kinghadu9611 What's the worst case scenario that could happen with the frame quality we are seeing? I mean this is a road bike not an MTB, it will not split in half during a ride, or will it? I have seen a video where they try to destroy a cracked fork on an MTB, and it took quite some effort, so if you inspect it regularly, you would notice a damage, right? The worst thing that can happen is that you need to get a new frame at this point. Given the current availability of local brands (almost nothing available), I'm actually considering getting a SAVA as my first roadie.
@@kinghadu9611 how do you know they use grey market shimano products? is that standard procedure for chinese bike manufacturers?
@@LLroomtempJ yes it is standard procedure.
I just wanted to know ...? what is the tester with the meter for...? what does it measure? was there any serious damage to the fork? or is it just superficial...?
I have an Elves Falagh pro disc which also receives a lot of chrititism, i love mine so much i have just ordered the new evo, looming forward to receiving it, the purchase and communication was second to none.
Thank you for putting this video on you tube, I was looking at this bike on Amazon but seeing what I just saw I think I will save my money and get a trek!
Nice to find this as a retiree friend was looking to purchase this brand and sell off his rim brake Trek Madone 2015 w DA groupset in favour of this SAVA brand in DISC. He has been rabbiting on about all the +ve reviews from around the globe. I've shared this link with him. I am not anti Chinese bikes, I own and race a clone F10 Dogma, why, because..... I bought a used clone F8 Dogma frame, liked the build quality, built it up and loved the way it rode, how planted the forks felt in hard cornering. Then, based on that experience, I bought a genuine (used) F8 Dogma frame expecting increased brilliance. Instead I could not tell the difference, even to the point where the internal finish on the genuine frame was rougher than the clone F8. I sold the genuine and kept the clone (AUD$4500 vs AUD$300). I then bought a used F10 Dogma frame from the same source when one came up and have been happily racing it since. I have learned that some other masters racers also seem to be doing the same thing.
Could you please do a review on the other Chinese Carbon brands? And, have you found one to be a great buy?
what a great video and thank you for posting it!
what a pleasure.... ;-)
glad we could support
What did the final weight end being?
Would you recommend an ebike from them?
It’s a full carbon bike priced at 1599 with same day delivery in metro Melbourne with shimano sets, what else do you want, if you buy a trek, this price will only get u a shit alloy bike
I'd rather take the Trek warranty than some no name Chinese garbage 😂
Honestly, for more than half of the population… this bike is more than enough. Being overly picky over an entry level product is just silly.
Own two savas no issues with mines I ride mines with no issues of course if you a pro you ain’t going to ride this but if you going to the beach trail this is more then enough
The actual owners and riders of these bikes love them and ride them for thousands of miles, so something isn't right here! EUROPEAN BLIND BIAS possibly???
I have a Cannondale Super Six Carbon bike and the frame is dog shit, it is notorious for horrible BB tolerance which creaks like mad. All the big brands like Cannondale outsource their frame to shitty ass Taiwan and other Asian countries for cheap labor. I have seen very few complaints about Sava bikes, where I live tons of people use "Chinarello" they ride around pretending like they are using real Pinarello bikes when in fact it's Chinese clones and it seems to work perfectly fine.
does it cost a fraction of say LOOKś carbon bike?
Do you have the permission for putting this video in your channel?
Can i ask where you order it?
Interesting, these bikes are in the UK too.. shows why we pay big money for our bikes.
Video very good.
thank you 😁

Although this video does show flaws of these Chinese made cheap Carbon bikes, we shouldn't forget that big name brands like Trek and Specialized and Cannondale also outsource their carbon to cheap Asian market slave labor also.
because they're bias
Good review and feedback for the company: hopefully they take it to heart, do better AND can keep the cost down.
I'd buy one in a second.
I'm having a hard time with $3-4k for my next "entry level" bike.
I had a brand new giant defy and had issues with it. Rear hub was over tightened in the factory that caused a weird intermittent banging noise when taking off. It drove me mad as bike shop couldn't get the rear hub off. Eventually, i got a replacement wheel but it shows that even big brands sell faulty bikes. There were heaps of defys and liv models sold with over tightened hubs.
Seems like the bike already failed their tests even before they opened the box.. 😅
Most bikes both aluminum and carbon are Chinese. Some are from Taiwan but that's dwindling. Was in both a Trek and a Bianchi store today. China on everything but Trek also had lots of Cambodian made bikes.
Mine is about 2 years old now, I am not a light rider. I think bike frame making is no rocket science and Sava specializes making carbon frames that actually last in practical outdoor rides. They should improve paint finishes, I must admit. They look rushed and thinly coated.
Guys I need help installing this seatpost iM confused I twisted the screw but nothing happened
Tilt bike forward and you’ll be able to slide seat post in. I had the same issue
im just getting into bikes and seeing “cheap” in the title made me go look for one, when i saw the $2k price tag i almost gasped out loud😂but im realizing that is pretty budget in the bike field
I recommend the decathlon triban rc500. It's my first road bike and i rate. shimano sora groupset so good for beginners (like me). it's about a grand AUD
I got my first "good" Nishiki bike for $250 ('83)...rode it for 10 years, used it on my trainer for another 10. Got my second "good" bike, '91 Trek 1200, for $650. Rode that for 21 years. Got my 3rd "good" bike for $1800, 2012 Trek Madone4.5, still on that one. NOW a "good" bike starts at $3k? What the F@&$? are "we" THINKING?
I’m enjoying the bike so far czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.
It look like bmc time machine frame 😮
This dude is out for blood😱 it would've been fair if they had another bike as reference🤔🤔this feels a little biased.
is a fair and open review
so al bikes from sava are non usable or what????
SAVA is a MORON brand in China, not even a newbee rider in Chine would get this piece of junksht. go&get Giant, Pardus, Seka, Java(thats whom sava is copying),Merida,Jins,Camp,Dahon and Fohon(folding bike, great frame quality)
Those brands are more like trek'position for u guys and they get their high end productline
like Pardus theyre now selling a endurance bike with M frame@680g
&ur Sworks&terk&bianchi&Scott might also made in there factory.
LMAO, judging an entry level carbon bike with the highest standard like you pay dear. You guys really know how to review bikes. Keep it up.
".....this bike is essentially unrideable.. " seriously now??
Please stop reposting my videos. It’s poor form. I have asked before
Hallo Cam, then you must change your you tube upload licence. you can advertise with "reuse allowed licences" but then still having something against it. this is poor form
@@ratata7467 it’s designed to be reused to reference. Which happens. Not to upload the entire video because you want to make money from it. That is unprofessional.
@@CamNicholls i'm so sorry he did this to you, cam. at a minimum can you get his video demonetized? i've had videos on my channel "demonetized" just for being covers of songs. I feel like this should be open and shut in your favor
Sava is a German brand with factory in Frankfurt. Isnt it?
this is correct. Sava started 2005 in Germany but then 2012 moved to China. Today there are world wide Save factories
@@ratata7467 Sava loves to pretend they are German but they really are NOT, it's just crappy Chinese sh!t but same can be said for Cannondale and Specialized etc which are all selling shitty ass 3rd world Carbon frames as well because profit is all these greedy fcks care about, at this point it hardly matters between Sava and Specialized unless you're spending insane amounts of money for their S-Works tier which is made in some first world country.
Absolutely perfect review. Buyer beware.
The bike price?
about half way between 1k and 2k usd
TRUE VALUE IS HONESTY
UNRIDABLE INDEED
👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 for those guys not the bike.
they are made by monkeys and racoons. you just commited animal cruelty
14.000 dollar is crap, right.

Chinese company's are better in almost everything...you need to find the right brand/factory
China EV and solar panel industry is several years ahead of rest of the world as an example
yall are too picky. a billion people in china live with quality like this, and only a few million of them die each year because of it. (vid gets a like anyway)
Sooooooooo basically do NOT buy... GOT IT!!!
This is a bias review. Stop bashing Chinese frames because they perform on par or better with western frames.
This bike Is sucks
Best bike to buy is trek made in 🇺🇸
lol trek is manufactured in China and Taiwan, as majority of the bicycles nowadays
