This was a huge hit in 1986, I know it must be unusual to know that a ballad like this was hot on the Pop charts, even with all of the fast and upbeat Pop, Rock, Funk, New Wave, Rap, Jazz and Country that had the world dancing and singing and having fun, a love ballad or power ballad was still a must for everyone, even rockers and rappers had a few slow songs back then. All because they know people dreamed, met people, slow danced, dated, romanced, fell in love, made love, got married, or even broke up or had their heart broke to these love songs, simply because they said how people felt in relationships. I wasn’t all sex and drama to us like young people today.

There are times,.when who ever it is comes up with either putting two people together for a song, or a casting coup, as was the case getting Jack Nicholason to play the joker in Batman,..this was kismet,
having these two exquisite singers work together,..it was kismet when Burt Bacharach worked with Dione Warrick,..it's just all the stars are aligned, when I heard this, I just couldn't believe it,..had so, so been in awe and crazy about Michael, and knew patty from the group Labelle,..her Nona Hendryx,..saw them perform on Midnight Special,.when they broke up,..it was only the beginning of an illustrious career, and Patti just blew up,..I so love it when she does gospel,..but this love ballad, is just to beautiful to ignore,..my mom and dad loved this song,..just were crazy about it,..do check out all of Michael's work, he worked with Toto, I think Steely Dan, as back up vocal(so many started like that, like Denise Williams, who did backup for Stevie Wonder), and also his long standing time with the Doobie Brothers,..he as well, does gospel,..Godspeed, Peace ✌

I had to see how there was anyone who had not heard Patty Labell before... You were misleading there, but I was so enjoying that you were not stopping it every other minute like so many do, then suddenly you cut it off! I don't know what to think about your channel, I liked it, then got disappointed. Not a fan of the yelling at the end either. I play these cautiously high as I live in an apartment, but then the loud sounds like that have me racing for the volume control.
