    Great information, thanks. I’m also from the UK and wanting to migrate on a skilled visa. I’m thinking the 190 could be a good option. I’m in IT with over 10 years of experience without a degree and the burden of having to get payslips for the last 10 years to prove employment is mad. Good luck to you, I’m excited to see what you get up to 🙂

    Just a heads up on the 190 visa. Unfortunately it's NOT a case of simply getting your docs together, lodging an EOI, getting invited to apply, and then getting the visa. There are only about 20,000 spots per year; however literally hundreds of thousands of people apply from around the world each year. So even if you have a lot of experience AND you work in an in-demand occupation like nursing ~ more than likely, you won't even get an approval after lodging your application (unless you're very lucky).
    Most applicants for the 190 visa apply year after year (I know one girl who applied 5 years in a row and never got an invite despite being way over the minimum points requirements).
    Realistically the 190 visa is definitely worth applying for BUT only as a backup (same with the 189 visa) i.e. you're better off pursuing other [slower but guaranteed] visa options like the 482, 491, 494 pathways ~ after a few years, those will all eventually lead to Permanent Residency. Meanwhile, you can cross your fingers and keep applying each year for the 189 & 190 visas (on the off chance that you actually receive an invite); and then if/when you don't receive an invite, well at least you're still ticking over on the slower (guaranteed) pathways i.e. 482, 491, 494 visas.
    From a fellow Brit who's lived in Sydney since 2017 :)

      Ahhh thanks for this. So insightful to hear your experience! I was initially going for the 189 but a few friends got invited to the 190 soo that’s the one I’m going to pursue!
      Hopefully I’ll get accepted into one of those 🤞 ☺️

    Thanks for the video. I was thinking about using the worki if holiday visa but I heard it’s capped to 6 months with one employer! I was hoping to stay with the same employer atleast for a year. I’m a working professional around 10 years exp what would you advise?

    • @DainLuka
      @DainLuka Před 3 měsíci

      There are ways around this, you could work for the same employer but in a different building/site - annoying part about this visa!

      Thanks for watching! You will still need to apply for a 2nd and 3rd year before each visa ends but you won’t need to do specified work :)

    Hi, I have just applied for my first year 417 visa at the start of June 2024. I haven't got my results back, and I'm planning to move there in mid-September. Will I still have to do specified work to get a 2nd and 3rd year visa?z

      You can apply for your 2nd and 3rd from inside or outside australia 😎

      @@DainLukado you know if onshore 3rd whv comes into effect when 2nd whv ends or does it come into effect straight away?
      (I'm applying early for my onshore 3rd whv but don't want time taken off my 2nd whv).
      Thank you for the video you're a star ❤

    • @DainLuka
      @DainLuka Před 3 dny

      Thanks for watching ! So if you apply whilst onshore your next visa will start the day your current one finishes.
      However if you wanted to leave after 1 visa and have a gap between you’d need to apply offshore and then it would start when you enter after it’s granted 💫
      Hope that makes sense!!

    • @hattieburroughs3507
      @hattieburroughs3507 Před 3 dny

      Just bought you a coffee ❤ so hypothetically, if I apply onshore for the 3rd whv and it's approved, I can travel home to visit while finishing my 2nd whv?

    • @DainLuka
      @DainLuka Před 3 dny +1

      Thanks legend 🙌🏻 yes that is correct - if you have an active visa you can leave and return as many times as you wish! If you do need to leave whilst you are waiting for a visa to be approved and your current visa has ended you need to apply for a bridging visa B 🙌🏻
