You’re on a trail all alone. You stop to take a break and admire the beautiful view. Andre appears with a 12” chain saw screaming “say hello to my little friend!” That’s when you realize... dreams do come true.
Andre is cool and all, but I would not consider Andre with a chain saw to be a dream come true.
Your driving a truck and you have a E chain saw
Lol its funny but what kind of dreams are you having?
You all probably dont care but does someone know a tool to log back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot the login password. I love any help you can give me
@Bruno Joey Instablaster ;)
"Hey dad, turn driver"
**cranks wheel as fast as possible toward passenger**
Who remembers the old days of tfltruck where it was just Nathen and Roman doing there thing and Andre the mechanic
Props to Andre for picking up the English language so quickly.
I do. Can’t believe I’ve been watching that long and their video production has improved 1000%
That was maturity, now it's kid stuff. Oh well.
Regular Guy it’s a channel about toys for boys and you’re looking for maturity?
What happened to Nathan?
Me and my family camped at mirror lake and went over tin cup pass in 1997 in a stock 1996 s-10 blazer...it wasn't easy but we did it...with minimal issues...then drove to Ft. Collins where My sister lived and went to the mile High Nationals...that was an awesome trip...will never forget it...I'll never forget my 9 yr old daughters face when the first Nitro Dragster did a burnout....lol...she freaked...her and mom sat in the blazer for the rest of the day. Me and my Son 13 at the time loved it...memories memories...cherish it while it lasts...blink and its gone...we spent 4 hour in St. Elmos...AMAZING place...the humming birds come in droves and the chipmonks coming and sitting on your shoulder waiting for a sunflower seed.....awesome.
u sound like a good guy lol
"not the best off road chemistry"
Son: Driver driver driver
Dad: Hard Passenger
"Fisher Price chain saw" for the win.
Tommy killed it in this episode lmao. "That was stupid, we don't have to listen to that." "There's no bet, I agree with you!" "That was kind of pointless there, dad." Also great spotting for the larger trucks. I'd wheel with that smart-ass any day.
“Tommy .... I don’t care if I can’t tow 14000000 lbs” ... “I am here to do JEEP stuff” .... 😂😂😂. 👌👍☝️. Great video TFL Truck team !!!
Awesome comment and so correct!
I just started a channel where I bag on stock trucks in the mountains. I just want to make people laugh is all.
Lol yeah Jeep stuff ... like bend your bed frame 🤣
lol what people call jeep stuff is actually bronco stuff. Bronco was thee offroad standard for a long time. The let jeep take the lead for 20+ years until they decided it was time the rightfull owner took it back.
My dad took a stock 2000 f250 over tincup pass in 2001 and had no problems.Only passed a couple of jeeps that day, and the road wasn't all eroded to heck with five different paths going every which way! Miss those days before the State got so crowded.
It's nice to see a 250 with a big camper out on a trail its not everyday you see it
TFL : “We aired down”...
Everyone watching: To what? 35psi? 🤣🤣🤣
😂
It said 26 on the screen.
My f350 runs at 80 psi normally. 35 would be aired down a lot. (diesel's are heavy)
@@calholli i was gonna comment that lol
@@calholli jesus christ! That's a freaking bomb, I run at 28 all the time lmao
Roman: "Hey Tommy I bet you I can do it in 2WD...what's the bet?"
Tommy: "I literally...bet you nothing"
For some reason that just got to me...oh the Comedy of TFL.
Did up from St Elmo and down to mirror lake in stock 2002 Z71 Suburban!
Roman: Tommy you’re not helping me
Tommy: I’m telling you to turn driver and you’re turning passenger
Romain: Tommy you’re not helping me
If Tommy was helping any more it would be called driving lol
Yeah, if anything, Roman is more worried about the sightlines than following directions, lol.
There's something about dealing with stressful situations with family that's always an issue. Notice how seamlessly the spotting went with Tommy & Andre?
Lol you did roman and then did romain
@@JJ-pp6tz yeah, a head of lettuce swapped out with Roman for a couple of scenes haha
@@o2boutdoors me and my pops same shit
I think the Trailboss is the shining star here, all stock.
Would be good to see what the Jeep could do with a better driver
Well... It did everything it was supposed to do so it's probably safe to assume that with a better driver it would still do everything it was supposed to do.
Less grumpy driver. 🤣
@@ryanhemming9546 I think that Olaf Gerhard(and to some degree Roman) is having a 'Ok Boomer" moment😉😅😔
The tail boss comes with a 2” lift so although it’s stock, you still pay for it.
I would actually like to see Tommy take a full trail with open differential and no swaybar disconnect see how he runs a trail
That was what his JK had.
he's done it already, more than once
Great video. While the Jeep is best suited for this Tincup trail....great to see a stock Trail Boss able to keep up....looking forward to the next scenic TFL Trail Shootout.
Get some maturity in the videos, not the babble.
I'll say it again... That F250 is dam impressive.
Great video as always TFL. Really kudos to the F250, doing everything with the camper
@19:50 Roman Completely disproves his point of this entire series and admits the Jeep is the "Most Capable Off-Roader Here". BTW Roman...NOT Tommy's fault!!!
Haha the “grumpy son” bit was great 🤣
He just needs a Snickers. 😁
Grumpy son? Andre had no problem with Tommy....I think it's grumpy Roman
@@chuckmuellerleile8729 I hope that the grumpy son bit was just a bit, because if that was real then Roman has some serious mental health issues. Roman's deflecting his own lack of thinking skills, not paying attention and confusion on to his son, indicates a lack of basic self awareness and honestly, not being happy to the point of having to create a false reality and willing shoving his son under the bus so to speak(even on CZcams and even some poeple in the comment section are similar to Roman). This video's section of commentary should have been done over again. Roman should apologize to his son Tony on the next video for be overly defensive.
@@gen1c8rs88 That's what we call over-analyzing my friend, dear god lol. And was Roman being highly dyslexic? Hell yeah. Did he display any signs of mood issues or being grumpy? Hell no. I'd say Tommy was the one who definitely was overreacting to his dyslexic opposites. How is one going to get that upset just because someone's brain is flipping the information around? I mean come on now. And then in Roman's defense, at that point with what he was doing and needed the aid with, it can be overwhelming to the person trying to receive the irritated person's help, rendering their attitude towards them, not helpful. Patience is highly important, especially in that situation, which Tommy seemed to have none of in that moment. So Roman's dyslexic stint there while trying to focus on making sure he kept himself and the vehicle safe bound together with Tommy's lack of patience is what lead to the situation they had there in the first place.
If you want to over-analyze that situation, this is how you do that correctly lol.
@@TheCriminalViolin Tommy wasn't that grumpy or impatiencent(we don't know why Tommy wasn't at one of the paths for guidance, probably was doing something else, not because of being fustraited with Roman: to the point of indifferce to Roman), a little frustrated towards the end, and as helpful as Roman would allow.
Tommy, you're not you when you're hungry.
Next time, grab a Snickers!
My favorite line: "Good Job, Andre, with your Fischer Price Chainsaw!" 😂
Great video as usually guys. That Trail Boss is quite capable for being only stock.
That heavy ass Super Tremor flexed it's torque over that rock like it was hardly an issue! The Trailboss did very well considering it is stock, very nice!
I love the for and the traiboss !! The chevy needs upgraded like the other two! But it's just as capable stock, that's worth something!!great video as always
They're all capable. A truck is a truck. Plenty of power and solid axles. All three of those would go just about anywhere you want, especially if you're not worried about breaking them.
@@calholli I don't ordinarily argue this point with people. Because each persons experiences are different when it comes to reliability. But given a choice of those 3 vehicles in their current configurations, it would be a difficult choice for me. Ordinarily I would take the Ford hands down. But Andre's recent reliability is down a notch. I would not gamble on the Chevy even with someone else's money. So the Gladiators wins in this video for reliability.
@@WW-wf8tu I disagree... I'd go Ford every time. When it comes to trucks, Ford has perfected the truck world. Chevy makes a good highway truck-- to sit pretty in and cruise the malls... I've had way too many problems with dodge parts to mess with another Jeep. My sisters caravan melted the wiring harness/ fuse box and computer.. I had a grand cherokee myself that had endless electrical issues-- Lights in the dash and the center consul would turn off and on whenever they felt like it. It had crackshaft and camshaft sensor issues that I had to replace. Transfer case stopped working and would only run in 2wd.. I was happy to get rid of that junker. Just a nightmare. Had to rebuild the engine in my girls 2010 Nitro. Window switches stop working sometimes. I'll never go back to any dodge products. A year ago, I bought a 2002 Acura MDX with leather seats, heated seats, headed mirrors, even 3rd row leather seats, moon roof, All wheel drive. I mean, hands down the best car I've ever had. So from now on, I will ONLY buy Honda/ Acura or Toyota/ Lexus... or a Ford truck. period... I've always bought fords and my brother has always bought Chevy's. I've watched him blow through motors and transmissions on every truck he's owned. lol... Chevy makes a good engine for projects, the LS series from their corvettes. But otherwise, I wouldn't own one. Same with motorcycles. You won't see me on a $20k harley when I can get 3x the performance on a Japanese bike for $2k... Japan engineers things to last, and its finally starting to pay off for them. Most companies aren't even building cars anymore (only suv's and trucks) because they can't even pretend to compete with the Japanese. Otherwise, I have a 2002 F350 with the 7.3 diesel, 6sd manual, manual hubs, manual trasnfer case. Its a tractor and I love it. lol
calholli what do you think the F250 with the Tremor package would do out there?
@@calholli My experiences have led me to 100 percent agree with you
Trailboss doing very well and all stock 💪👊 still can tow and haul as well. #trailboss #at4
Where's the front camera 📸? These Offroad production trucks need grill mounted cameras. Shouldn't have to add anything after spending $55k on a truck. Still Bowtie did good. 👍
They're garbage trucks. I now understand why GM is called "garbage motors" after owning my second GM vehicle (20 sierra with the 3.0 duramax). My other was a 2002 Malibu that was a death trap.
I've had 3 sierras I currently have a 2020 at4. Had no issues with my 1999 sierra 4.8l or 2010 sierra 5.3l.
If I got a sierra it would have the 6.2. Go big or go home. Ram interiors are way better though.
How are GM Motors garbage when they have a whole race series around an engine
Trail boss is the winner. All factory no mods and did it without breaking a sweat.
It's still a POS Chevy that's gonna break down in a year.
@@roberthall6560 We have 3 GM trucks all between 200-400k miles, '81 C10, '93 Blazer, and an '01 Yukon XL, and have had others. Apart from regular oil, filters, and breaks, the only thing that was replaced between all of them was an alternator and some fuses. Not even spark plugs. We also have a '15 Silverado Z71 that's been bulletproof as expected.
Meanwhile my GF's '04 ranger was in the shop about 4-5 times for $500-$1k each visit with multiple transmission failures and engine problems, among other things. That truck was never right, there was always something broken between the mechanics and electronics. Her families Ford minivan had similar transmission issues and overall terrible build quality, 3+ visits to the shop $500-$1k a pop, and I think it was eventually traded for a few hundred bucks... A coworkers semi-new 7.3 PowerStroke had a major engine failure and required a double digit rebuild. The list goes on.
I would love to hear about your experience with GM trucks.
@@SongOfSteel ... You really mean your boyfriend's truck don't you??
Sorry I call bullshit. Never seen a Chevy last. We had hundreds of Tahoes for a number of years. Granted they are mostly driven 24/7, but no excuse for engines blowing up so often. Several Tahoes blew 3 engines in one year. Plus their interiors were all shit. Everything was cracking and breaking off. Just pure shit parts inside and out. Now these were 6 cylinder engines but still it's GM. We went to Explorers about a decade ago and they are not perfect but several hundred times better.... Except for the really tall guys over 6'5". They liked the driver's space in the Tahoes.
@@roberthall6560 Yikes, that's pretty pathetic behavior to see from an adult. I honestly wasn't expecting much though. No shit your abused v6 Tahoe's driven 24/7 were falling apart. And it was probably mid 2000's when interiors were switching to hard plastic and peeling. Like Ford wasn't any better at the time...
Honestly, they are all pretty decent. I work in forestry, we have 14 f-350s/equivalents including all american brands. They all break down eventually, they all run fine when fixed and maintained, the diesels are better across the board. No brands are bullet proof with heavy use. I will agree about ford vans though - we also have 6 e-350s (only ford for vans, we don't have other equivalents) and we are lucky if 2-3 are in operational shape at any given time. How they are treated by their drivers seems to play a bigger role in how often they need repairs in comparison to the brand they are made by.
The outliers are a ford 450 which is the most reliable (but it's also the pride and joy of our mechanic, and only he drives it so gets better treatment) and a ford f-150 which is the oldest and smallest of the fleet, and the least reliable by far, it's gone through 3 transmissions so far.
Haven't seen a video this good in a long time! (Despite some offroad father and son tension) Please do the rest of the series this way and it will be an absolute blast.
All three trucks are amazing, but I think the Silverado always deserves special attention due to being the more serial of them.
Awesome job!
Overall winner 🏆 the trailboss. The Jeep and ford had alot of mods and the trailboss was all stock and performed quite well.
Way to go Tommy! Give the ole man a taste of his own grumpiness! Hahahaha.
Best line..... "Knock on plastic".
Been there, done that around 1978-79 in a 1968 CJ5. Limited slip 4.56 front and back. 10k lb PTO winch. Metal top with doors removed. All alone. Never saw another vehicle. Grand views and experience!
I loved seeing some negative father-son chemistry for once. I knew you guys were normal lol. Not that I don’t love seeing only bees and flowers between you, this video was more real. Cheers for an excellent video. As much as I love modifying my vehicles it’s nice to have an affordable stock vehicle. That’s the reason I’d like to get a Tradesman PW or ecodiesel rebel.
Colorado has become so crowded.
All those RZR's lol.. But what do you expect when people are fleeing the big cities like LA and NY because of their failing politics.
Yup. Sad!
@@calholli
People are leaving because the cost of living and quality of life issues such as congestion and slower pace.
Yeah and they won’t make more trails. That’s the real issue.
@@calholli people just want to get away from overcrowding. Now that so many people can work from home, people just want to move to where they actually WANT to live.
It's not politics, it's just big cities suck and are expensive AF to live in.
Is it just me or is this video edited much better than normal!?! The banter is better, the vibe of the whole video is better. Keep it going!
Awesome content. Even though these are expensive rigs, out of my current price range, no pavement needed is still my favorite on the channel so far. Keep it up guys!
I just love the idea of overlanding, it's a fun & education experience. Especially when you have one of these vehicles.
When all is said and done the value (relatively speaking) of these half-ton off-road trucks cannot really be denied. From the factory you can buy a truck that will do most of trails you would want to do all while still being pleasant to drive on the road day to day. Great vid guys! Can't wait for the next one.
Another Sunday morning coffee and video experience. Thanks, guys
This must've been the best video of the year!!!! And I know I say this nearly every video.... but gotta hand it to you guys, the quality of your content is absolutely ridiculously awesome!!! Keep it up!!! #TFL #NoPavementNeeded
😂 that chainsaw is basically a children's toy
I'd guess it can do about fifteen seconds of hard cutting with that little battery on it before it needs a charge
Very well cut together and produced video, an excellent compliment to the raw behind the scenes and hot take videos. Great job TFL!
I gotta say, I'll never get tired of looking at the F-250. So sexy.
You guys are awesome! I’ve been watching your channels for years and they keep getting better. No pavement needed!!! ✌🏼😊👍🏼
I’m super happy with my 2021 TrailBoss LT… been elk/deer hunting from OR to deserts of Southern AZ… I’ve been able to access some areas and not have an issue. It’s perfect for my needs.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again... editing and filming is looking so much more professional and “higher-budget.” And I’m loving it! Keep up the awesome work!
Props too TFL for using yet another of the many great trails in Colorado. TFL has convinced me to put a front camera on both of my rigs! Keep putting out more trail videos guys!
I can’t believe I got hooked up to this channel. You guys seem like the regular men of the people doing truck stuff. Refreshing indeed!
LMAO i love it Tommy, assistant to the trail manager, OMG THAT'S FUNNY what a great video, send in the part of Andre with his chainsaw, it could be the start to a movie extra career 😂
The Super Tremor is quite impressive.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that gets grumpy by so many SXS’s on the trail lol
They are a pain in the ass and will ultimately cause more closures.
@@donleamon8653 so a trail machine......on a trail will cause closures? So you're not the only person out enjoying the trails, boooo hoooooo!
@@jjackman2032Depends on how the owners operate their machines. Sometimes it is like you're in the middle of the Baja 1000 here in AZ.

I really love the real world Father/Son communication you guys have!
One thing is for sure, the red Trail Boss looks outstanding. Best of the 3 for sure. Just needs some 35s.
Love watching you guys and especially the father and son dynamics…best channel to watch!
I love the dad/son banter and arguing. I think every son and father can relate to that LOL! Tommy was in a grumpy mood hahah. But he felt bad and apologized at the end. Good son.
Gladiator was awesome. Trail Boss did not break sweat. That F250 just makes it look like cake. Never imagined this when you chaps bought the 7.3. This monster need never see pavement, it seems unstoppable.
Was with a group that went through there a couple of years ago this weekend, on a Raptor Color Run.
We then took the trucks through Cumberland and Hancock passes.
Fun day, if a bit pin-stripey.
The F250 and Hawk camper is my ideal setup...graduating from my 07 JK and ground tent
You guy's videos are getting better and better. This was awesome and I can't wait for you to be doing something gnarly with the ram trx
I noticed that when Roman was talking about the three trucks and their cost, he included the camper fitted to the F250, but conveniently ignored the bars and roof top tent on the Trail Boss. As for all the mods on the other two trucks, they were mostly done to make them better, but they would have been able to do everything the Chev can do and maybe more. At least as far as the Jeep is concerned.
Tommy just needed a bite to eat and the M.r grumpy pants will go away. Nice video it is pretty up there. We went through there in a suburban in 2002, there had fires everywhere like this year in Oregon. Nice job driving the top heavy girl through Andre. Keep up the videos it is nice, a cross country would still be nice in the future but the trails out there are very beautiful.
Keep it up guys love it. I unfortunately can’t do this anymore I had a run in with a collapsed ceiling I my day. So physically it’s no go so keep it up.
Test the stock Trail Boss against the stock Tremor package.
That’s what I’m talking about. I wonder how the tremor would do
Except they are different truck classifications.
Though a diesel Trail Boss vs diesel Tremor 🤔
Thanks for making great content guys, I've missed a top gear like show. Keep up the good work and the bantering 😂
This No Pavement Needed series is a must watch. You guys put these trucks through it all and they come through. Even though I am a Ford guy, I have to admit the Trail Boss is impressive for a stock truck. Any thoughts on how a Tundra TRD Pro would do here?
Awesome video, TFL Team!!! So much fun!

we still miss the rebel rouser . hahaha andre with the tonka chainsaw lol we will be getting the rebel for our across the US series for our channel.. you guys inspired us
Quality made video. Wish I were there to compare trash talk you all down. lol Tommy's spotting is good. But great scenery. Keep it coming gang. :)
Great video guys and loved seeing the AMC era CJ5. Would love to take mine out there sometime.
Did this trail back in mid August and I can say it's a tough trail but absolutely no problem in my RS1. My buddy that took me was also in a RS1 and on the Taylor Park side there is a turn off where even we had to articulate the suspension to get over towards the lake haha would have been super funny to watch you guys run over that section!

Finally a Top Gear style adventure video. Epic content my dudes!!
Mosquito pass is another good one. It basically goes from Fairplay to Leadville and peaks at 13,186 feet. It isn't too hard but it'd be interesting to see. We made it with a stock 99 F250 and a stock 06 F350, both diesels.
Did Tommy miss his morning coffee this morning??
Lol @ congratulations to your fisher price chainsaw😂😂
Yep I spat out my coffee on that one

Tommy getting testy. Damn I guess I could get frustrated doing that job but after over 30+ years in retail you guys sure seem to have the dream job to me. Would be hard to imagine to many bad days surrounded in nature and amazing trucks.
I love the solution to the NPN during covid. I can't wait for a cross country trip (hopefully) next year! + Roman, I hate to say it, but today you def turned passenger when Tommy said driver + vice versa a solid couple of times. Or at least Alex edited it to look that way....
Roman and Tommy drama, can't beat it 😆😅
Taking trucks down a dirt road and nothing happens. lol.
This video in a nutshell. Its a good excuse to go trail riding though, I'll give you that.
And you guys manage to get paid to do it. Bravo
Should’ve had a “dramatization” warning at the beginning.

I should note napoleon is closed to anything bigger than a side by side.
Nice driving! After I get the oil changed in my Subi Forester CVT I'll give it a shot!! 😖
Lol I feel for Tommy, I would be the same way. I get so grumpy but it's because of anxiety!!!! I'm just sitting there in my head thinking "omg this is gonna be so bad, they don't know what there doing, someone's gonna blame me for not leading well enough, ahhh!!" Lol, and anxiety grump!!

At the beginning of the Gladiator build wasn't crazy about the steel wheels, but with the color combo it makes it look like a little Humvee.
Overall fun videos, wish we could get the treasure seeking in other states too, if we're not fortunate enough to live in Colorado.
Surprised that Andre doesn't know how to use a chainsaw.
