The scariest part about this is that you are a Back Country Road in a Truck and you have a quarter tank of gas! 😂😂😂😂 phenomenal video
Good catch.
@@azclaimjumper Luke drives out to the BOONDOCKS and all I could think was: I hope he has gas in a Gas Tank
Which tells me this wasn't as random as presented. It's a place he obviously is familiar with, and he knew that open area wasn't very far in. Nothing was tentative about the way he drove into the place.
My thoughts exactly!!!! Quarter tank????
Plot twist, gas station is 1/4 mile away.
Nothing better for a good nights sleep than the sound of rain.
Luke has the unique talent of making the mundane seem interesting. I mean what’s so exciting about watching a person sleep in the back of his truck in the rain, but somehow I feel compelled to watch it.
It's not compelling, it's just plain lazy content from someone who wants to be an "Outdoor Gear Reviewer". Nothing "outdorsey" about sitting in a truck all day and all night.
Still better than plan lazy comments. @@johngalt6929
@@johngalt6929his 610k subs would probably beg to differ.
not lazy, just relaxing and having fun. Luke is amazing in all of his content, he's allowed to have a fun day to. please be more respectful@@johngalt6929
I thought that comment was a little harsh, I like Luke’s combination of gear reviews and trips and think he has a charismatic personality even in the back of a truck.
Luke in 2025 "I miss that truck, it was the most reliable ride I ever owned"
Yeah I definitely wouldn’t get rid of that rig even if I bought a new one. But then again, I’m holding onto old trucks that don’t run anymore for that reason hahaha
What kind of truck is it? I hear it’s v8
@@TheReaper42069 Toyota Tundra, yep a V8 and a crazy reliable one at that
Agreed
That is the one to keep.
Take off the plates and insurance and put it away for later use.
Don't sell or trade it in.
Just over a 100k miles...heck man, he's just beginning to break in that Toyota. If it is working for you, I wouldn't trade it in for anything.
I love that sake as well... and here is why its cloudy... Nigori Sake is not filtered, and the sake lees (sediment) are not completely removed during pressing. This results in a cloudy appearance and a thicker, creamier texture. Some producers may add back some of the sake lees to the final product to enhance the flavour and texture.
I figured somebody would explain. Nigori sake, not sakee, not saki but pronounced Sakeh is one of my favorites. Especially when heated in Winter.
@@ernieschatz3783 I guess im not the only one that kinda got annoyed by how he was saying it, takes two seconds to google how to pronounce something lol.
KEEP THE TUNDRA - you know what you have, it has bulbs, not LED's for headlights/tail lights. Seems to me you're thinking about "change" for the sake of change.
Your 2011 Tundra, an oldie, but a goodie.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
I’ve been going through a really rough time over the last year, and it’s relaxing content like this that brings me even just a short period of calmness.
Thank you for always delivering amazing content, Luke!
Luke, you should just keep Drifter!!! It's just broken in😢!!! Drive it for a million miles!! Plus, it's paid for.
Watching this video of you snug in the back of your truck eating and drinking a hot beverage is so relaxing to me. It seems so tranquil. The rain, the heater.
Thanks Drifter for all the great adventures. Wishing you all the best for the future!
Thumbs up for using turn signals
I love how you place your cameras to what I would be looking at. Made me feel I took the trip! So thankful for these videos when I can’t be out there enjoying nature and weather of all sorts.
So long, Drifter. I'm "new" to TOGR and the Tundra has been the face of the channel for me. She has been a good girl indeed. You'll miss it, Luke.
Thanks for taking us along for your last camp with Drifter.
Luke, you are very welcome! Thank you for all the great content!
➡️ Dude, that's not cooking. That's heating up a premade meal😂
But it sure beats an MRE 😂
Hey Luke, just wanted to say thank you for your amazing work. Gives me a lot of joy watching these. That's all.
I am 75 years old. I grew up in Syracuse, New York, and I did a lot of backpacking in the Adirondack mountains years of it. The only two occasions I ever had with bears was because I had a lack of a fire going like you said today it’s not that important but up there it was thank heavens I was armed one was pretty aggressive and I just fired over Ted. I’m at Jo both of them off sometimes you need a fire just for protection.
I appreciate your high quality content. Videography is awesome! Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Thanks for the upload Luke loved the vibe of just checking lung and talking in the soon to be previously owned truck just love how easy it is to sit and listing . Hope family is well Luke ❤
really enjoy your videos. Thanks. I love the wind.
So excited for a new overnight adventure!! ❤
This is one of my favorite episodes of yours I've seen in a while. You should do more like this, Luke 👍
Hi Luke, just want to say thank you for sharing. You do an awesome job with your channel. Great editing!, I might add!!
Some of my best self-reflecting and thinking is done before a campfire.
Your timing is amazing as always!!
After saki, dinner, sleep and breakfast. And nothing about the "facilities". epic!
Thank you Luke for a very relaxing video. Loved it. Take care
Proper chillout Mate. Great Vid! 🙂
Great adventure Luke! Loved it!
love the sound of rain on the car , so soothing. 🚙🏴⛺️
My husband and I say KEEP THE TUNDRA!!!! 🥹
We’re big fans 🫰
Thanks! Good stuff Man
I have a Primus brand two burner propane stove my dad purchased for camping in 1971!! I used it for camping over the years with my kids & emergencies when the power went out.. my two burner Primus propane stove still going strong! It pays to buy good equipment
Ive always wanted to comment but I just never felt it would matter but right now hearing you talk about that sound of the rain, I just wanted to say I found your videos due to me wanting that sound and I subscribed after the first video. Life long fan here, I bring up my youtube every night to see if one of my 10 people have uploaded and your the first that started it. My life gets sad but I still know I can lay down and relax to your voice or your other channel even.
I listen to thunderstorms every night to relax and sleep but I always start with your videos to get me there :)
I enjoy your videos inside the truck as much as the ones outside, especially when it's raining and windy.
Its very pleasant hearing you talk man. Nice video.
New to the channel. Your description of hanging out in the truck listening to the rain with no need to leave your shelter and feeling secure was an experience I had had just once in my life on a trip. Haven’t had the opportunity to capture that since. That moment I think about to help Me fall asleep.
If I was you, I would get another Toyota truck. They are reliable vehicles. I'm a first-time Toyota owner, a 2011 Venza that I've had almost a year and she's handled great even in snow. Can't wait to go car camping in her this summer with my cousins. I call her Goldie because of the color.
Toyotas aren't that reliable anymore. With modern emissions systems and too many electronic gizmos no car brands are as reliable as they used to be. The old Tundra like this one were, but not the new ones.
@lyman135 wrong.
@@SoloHiker1 im right. You're a solo hiker because you are always wrong and no one wants to hike with you.
Love the truck camp episodes
outdoor zen! Nothing better.....:-)
I love listing to the rain so relaxing
Luke I love your Videos..I love all of your new hook ups and gadgets and tents you introduce to us and just watching you set upbeverything is unique. ❤😊
Always enjoyable. Great instrumentals as well closing off the video. Be well.
Hi Luke, that road looked very spooky. I hope you're carrying something to protect you in case of trouble. Take care😊
Susie and Luke, thankyou for sharing all your adventures of camping and reviews of outdoor gear! I'll be retiring to western North Carolina in the next few years.
Cloud sake looks fantastic
That was some daamm good content,,thanks man,I enjoyed that😊
This bro has very unique way of explanation of camping so calm n coolness
I am inspired! thank you!
I so enjoy your truck camps, seems like setting up outside is so much work but I certainly enjoy watching every video you have thanks 1 million and be safe
This video impressed me greatly, and I can't put my finger on exactly why. But I can say that when you spoke of choosing your battles it brought back memories of my mom, who totally believed it to be true. And you are both right.
A lot of American Vehicle Manufacturers have ceased making Sedans in favour of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV’s)
You sure do get the weather there,, we are getting some thunderstorms tonight.. which I love hearing.. thank you for sharing Luke..
I almost bought a Toyota.
But I've always drift toward's short wheel base Jeep's.
I love my 06 TJ.
Ground Tent's have always been my thing.
I really like your Content.
Your not trying to shove gear down our throat's.
I enjoy trying new gear when possible.
Thank's for sharing Brother.
Love this one. Will miss Drifter.
Thank you for the heads up on the Fire Maple gear, I had been eyeing one of their screw on gas lanterns. I will continue shopping for something with better quality, cheers Luke!
Soto makes great lanterns. Not sure what the price is if available in the US.
An interesting point regarding fires, Luke. I view a fire as a book without pages. Something very relaxing about the fire. I do agree that they tend to be a bit of work.
I recommend keeping fuel tank full when camping. But a hardsided truck bed to camp in is an excellent idea. Especially for someone like myself whose body is broke. Drive to a nice location. Hunker down in the back. Enjoy!
Luke, maybe you’ll consider going out with only your favorite gear, no testing, just enjoying and telling us why this is your favorite. Then you could, as you usually do, list that gear. It would be a good thing for me and maybe others. Oh, I love stoves too. I have about 18 and have forced myself to STOP. I also like sunglasses and can’t tolerate scratches so, I’ve have gone through way too many to count. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to build my trust…from East Tennessee.
this video is so very relaxing
Great video!
Thank you ;Luke for awesome truck camping site when you climb into your truck started to rain
Strength, Honor and Sake!
Your Tundra camping is what got me started watching you 😁. Hope you have as many good adventures with your next truck choice as you've had with your Tundra 😉
Totally agree with you on True Detective season 4
great video and the food looks good!! enjoyed watching the video! have a good day and weekend.
Luke… I bought a brand new 2011 Tundra with the Rock Warrior package, just like yours but white. I sold it to a coworker of mine at the time and trust me I regretted doing it. What an awesome truck it was… still miss it. It’s hard to beat a Tundra.
People that use a turn signals in the middle of nowhere. Are like people that go to the bathroom and close the door when they are the only one living in the house.
Do you want ghost to watch you pee
ty Luke.
I love Sake but hadn't heard of this one. Immediately looked it up and it's available right down the street from me. Tomorrow's errand 🤣. Thanks Luke!
Funny how we get so attached to a vehicle. But, we always get excited about something new! My Yukon Denali was stolen last December. Loved that thing. Only 60,000 miles. Brand new tires. Never recovered. Still have 2 vehicles. My wifes 2 door coupe Mercedes, and an H1 Hummer. Neither very practical. For very opposite reasons. Been dragging my heals on something new. Looking at P/U trucks. Leaning towards a Toyota. Just having a hard time swallowing the price of new vehicles these days. Look forward to seeing your new ride! As usual, great video. Thanks for continuing to share. Jim Gillespie Reno, NV
I loved Night Country
Nice send-off for a good friend.
Man, I loved my Tundra. Whatever you plan to replace it with has a high bar to meet.
Nice tundra, my favorite truck. I liked all your setup 👍
Whatcha getting this time? This is 5 vehicles since I started watching. 😆 🤣 😂 Entertaining!!
What kind of truck is he driving in the video?
So long drifter, goin to miss ya !
Watching from Philippines I finished your video and it was awesome to be here with the last drive. Take care
Great video, very relaxing. Too bad there was no more outdoor footage because of the weather but I am sure you rested well, there is something special and calming about sleeping in the rain.
First, I noticed that the fuel gage said about a quarter tank....I like better than a half tank and better yet, fill up before heading off road. Second, just because something is old doesn't mean you should discard it. I drive and overland in a vehicle that's 49 years old and I love it.
Great video Luke, I remember the Turtle and all those vehicles you've in the past years, I think my favorite was the 4-Runner, I had a black limited 4-Runner that looked just like the one you had and loved that thing and my other favorite one is the truck you have now. I currently drive a Tacoma and love it.
Going over a mountain pass with 1/4 of a tank of gas. You are a madman my friend.
I love the Tundra even though it only gets about 14 mpg but most reliable.
I would hold onto that Tundra until the wheels fall off.
Awesome video
You will always remember your 1st Toyota pick up. I put 387,000 miles before selling my 99 Tacoma. Miss her still.
I work with a guy that has a Toyota truck with a “never forget 9/11” sticker on it. I told him one day that he must’ve forgotten about Pearl Harbor. He didn’t understand what I said.
107k is nothing for a Toyota truck. I've got a Tacoma with 170k and other than the crappy core support the truck has no issues. It has taken me all over the southwest US since 2009. Great memories. Night time in the deserts are peaceful (when there is no wind) beyond words. Complete silence. It can be strange at first but you really get into your own head in the best of ways. Safe travels. Keep that Tundra! It has amber console illumination which is great for night vision.
How neat
❤ Good bye Drifter you've been a True Friend ❤
Hi Luke thank you so much for your wonderful content! Love your conversation/thoughts and wicked sense of humour!…….your Trundra is fab Luke it offers you so much scope to do different things and as you said it’s reliable and that today with the cost of living goes a long way! It’s always a risk buying and selling it’s if you think you want to take that risk that counts though. 💙
As long as you guys are collecting I'm sure we all wanna see the pick ups!
Hi Luke! Another interesting adventure! Your dinner made me hungry! I too am a certified stovie. For some reason camping stoves just fascinate me! Good luck with your new vehicle, whatever it is.
Love your videos im am behind as still tecovering from major surgery
I own an '08 Tundra that I bought new.
350k miles and no major problems.
New starter, radiator, alternator, and that's it. Knock on wood, lol.
She's a beast, but she's starting to show her age.
I have 146,000 on my 2018 F150, never had a problem, and still runs like new. Good luck with whatever you decide on!!!
I especially like the BNS dual folding stove you reviewed. Haven't gone camping with it yet but I have no doubts about it's performance.
Nice video first one!
Thats Nigori Sake! Us Gaijins mostly call it unfiltered Sake, which is a misnomer because it is filtered just not to the same degree as regular sake. It's really good stuff.
We'll miss the Tundra, but it's always exciting to see the next vehicle that will be in your adventures.
