Do I have to take the boiler out and everything if I only want to d'escale the pipes and the heads of can I do it with a mini service (just the pipes etc)? It's been going for 11 years and needs some love (it's on a go slow and I suspect the pipes are all gummed up.

Assuming you live in America, Look up "Technical Machine Maintenance" at International Barista & Coffee Academy (IBCA) USA. Patrick O'Malley and his team teach a 5 day intensive course out at Tempe, AZ. I drove from California to take the class and I think it was worth it. You can also look at the SCA Course website and the Coffee Technician Guild for other classes you can take. Additionally, many manufacturers like Rancilio and LaMarzocco actually have classes you can take. Both the SCA and IBC have places in Europe too.

citric acid is best for cleaning the boiler or part of a coffee machine,i mean the safest way!!
I have Krups Siziliana coffee machine. On this machine hot water and steam go through the same pipe, when I accsidentally tried to use steam before the machine heated up enough. Now i can only heard the pump inside, but no water or steam are going out. Do you know how to fix it?
I have just done a service on my machine but am unsure about the refilling of the machine! Does it do it by itself? Your video does not show it.

Rust on coper provides a protective layer and is non-spreading.

How long did that actually take you? I have a la Pavoni commercial espresso machine that I've been wanting to refurbish and I am just curious.
I JUST got a La Pavoni P3V2 and am going to be doing the same service. Learning as I go, any tips you may have after 2 years would be greatly appreciated. :)

yes this rubber membranes are as same as the ones used in game controllers you can buy them and replace membrane

descaler
You can make a descaing solution from citric acid powder, cheap on Amazon etc, and water, i've descaled boilers and kettles and all manner of things, the the one in the video was an active pumping system so it's moving constantly, I'd recommend you plug all the inlet and outlets and remove the element, stand on end and fill, leave to soak then empty and refill if required.
How Long do you leave it in the Spirits Of Salt for ?
Depent of lime , sometime all days , some times 2 hours .

God that was a cheap machine like a astra or Astoria. The cheap welds inside the tank for the heat exchanger probably won’t survive the deliming.

WHAT HES DOING IS MORE THAN A SERVICE, ITS A REFURBISHMENT, ITS OVERKILL AND WOULD COST THOUSANDS, I COULD DO ALL THIS WORK WITHOUT REMOVING ALL THE COMPONENTS HE IS, AND COST A LOT LESS, ADELAIDE SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
