1 Chronicles 4:9-10 (NKJV)
Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez {He Will Cause Pain}, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”
Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory {borders}, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

This song totally speaks to me of that scripture. Jabez could have simply chosen to go on through his life as a sort of revenge against his mother's thoughtlessness, and lashing out against ALL people, due to the darkness in his life. Instead, He went to the Source of Light, to the Creator of ALL, and asked Him for a change to his very nature.
...and the Creator GRANTED it to him!

If you check out the FEARLESS album "Chronicles of Ancient Wisdom," all 12 tracks point to this very same precept: Walking with God and denying the flames of Hell -- recognizing and accepting God's ways, instead -- and focusing on HIM, will lead you along some amazing paths, with the light of God always clearing the way before you. Dan wrote all of those lyrics. There are several men of God who can be pinpointed in the Bible, who have their stories told, in that album. The whole album is told in a manner similar to Tolkien tales. If you haven't had the chance to listen to it yet, you should maybe try to catch at least one of the songs every day. The album is on Spotify and tons of other places (including the FEARLESS Topic, here on YT).

Dan faz a gente chorar muitas vezes com as suas interpretações. Essa música e American Trilogy do Elvis, que ele cantou em homenagem ao pai que morreu de câncer, são difíceis de ouvir sem chorar. Mas eu choro muitas vezes de alegria e orgulho desse garoto (que eu amo como um filho) quando leio comentários de elogios e de agradecimentos do bem que ele tem feito as pessoas. Eu fico tão feliz!

Dan with his masterful voice is outstanding. His interpretation is so real. But Dan said in one of his comments: " Not all the tears are of sadness. @user-gm6iy3xb7i -- it's not sad at all, except in the memory of what COULD HAVE BEEN, if the figure in the tale had chosen the WRONG path. Instead, the man in question "chose the light." That's what made the whole thing a song of VICTORY, not continued pain and death. "...Thank you, angels! I am now reborn! I deny Hell's flames!" VICTORY...not shame and death in darkness. Hallelujah!

@elvirazandee8530 -- It's because he only sings the songs the way they make HIM feel, and if a song doesn't make him feel light, love, and power, he doesn't even want to sing it at all. He has mentioned more than once, a really good phrase: "If you're going through Hell, don't stay there. Get out!" There are many ways to say that, and there even is a song with the name "If You're Going Through Hell," sung by Rodney Atkins (video available here on YT) that says the same thing.
