Respect to Fiji for giving the French a good run for their money. Mind you that Fiji aren’t even a tier 1 nation but they managed to play this well against one of the big favorites for the RWC 2023. The teams in Fiji’s pool are gonna have tough times against the Fijians.
France playing their B team. Good game from Fiji but let's not overhype them
@@ChyeahWill I'm a South Africa fan so I don't care if Fiji do well but I just expressed my observation of the game and they did well against a Tier 1 nation. If France were capable they would've scored more but they couldn't score more than 34. Now my beloved Springboks put 52 points past Wales😊 That's a hiding.
@@IAMJEFFREY-cw9ns Well, Wales at the moment are not at the top either, so for the 52 points, there is nothing to be happy about.
@@gustannor6611 STFU😃 England got smoked by Wales. SA cooked them.
@@gustannor6611 Either France or South Africa will win the WC.
Let's go tackle party in this world cup boys
Magnificent Fiji
No one gonna mention levani botia is an international who can easily slot between 7 and 12? What an athlete!
Him and Aldritt have probably beem La Rochelle's best players the last few years. What a player!
@@notthisprickagain8499 hey, don't forget Danty and Atonio please ...
Fiji is making out of the group stage
The french front 5 just look massive and the back row just looks massive, fast and skilful. Rugby has moved on and England have a lot of catching up to do.
If Fiji is losing like this to France, they can beat England and Wales.
Debatable.. France has been testing out combinations in their last 3 matches.. fiji started their most inform players.. Too bad tuisova was injured.. Ireland vs Fiji will confirm where fiji is atm

@@GhostplayFillinFiji will be playing against England not Ireland. Coach is also testing his combination
@@jojibaleilakeba7697 they were testing combinations in the PNC not here haha I got mixed up with samoa playing Ireland
@@GhostplayFillin PNC are same caliber teams. Fiji's testing combinations against France and England. When Wales comes around Fiji will be ready and firing in all cylinders !
France has it all, brutal and skilled forwards , fast backs who can handle, and a pinpoint goal kicker. No weaknesses. I can see why they are favourites
Will be destroyed by my boks
Nah ireland too strong
All Blacks smoke everybody
Since we've lost (injury) one of our best and key player (Romain Ntamack) during the second test match against Scotland, i don't see France anymore as one of the favorite teams sadly.
@@karaplays6162 I agree, Except in case of major injury Ireland will win this cup this time.
If Fiji picks up on their discipline and tidy up around the line up area they will be a formidable force
Discipline's not as bad as England.
They also need to have better set piece and attack plan. That 1 pass attack won't beat any defense.
@@bastbe2764you're right about the 1 pass attack but I thought their set piece was solid despite an awful start.
they'll beat England, for starters
😂😂😂 “if it would snow in the Sahara”.
The amount of high tackles, no wrap tackles, combined with off the ball carrier tackling are a part of the Fijian game.
Should this be cleaned up, they will loose by many more points.
England had a very bad day at the office, as did France 🇫🇷 in years gone by, but unfortunately Fiji 🇫🇯 will be going home early this RWC ….
Just saying 😎 ….
Both teams played amazing and just for the record, the mentality in this particular game is at a different level because as the tournament approaches near, the anxiety and nervousness kicks in. Hence, during times like these, scrum half like Frank Lomani can also start stumbling. If Fiji would have had just another warmup game prior to England, they would feel more comfortable and execute their play even better. So far, I’m proud of Fiji, my country and I hope they get into the knockout stages. We have a good lineup. All needed is some discipline so that we don’t give away penalties especially against the European teams as their kicking is too good. Secondly, line out and formations reinforcements together with more back line utilization then that would be great. For some players, this is their last WC and for some, it’s their first, so psychological pressure is something that overwhelms players regardless of how prepared they are. All I wish is Fiji to be calm, cool and collective and not to lose their composure. Australia will be looking to test these characteristics during the game. Overall, well played, Naka Viti’.
Every team has older players and newer players, and all of them are nervous before a World Cup match. Fiji isn’t any different. Agree that Fiji is often let down by discipline, but that’s been true for decades. With more exposure to professional rugby, and maybe better coaching of the psychological aspects of team sports, the Flying Fijians can stop giving away easy penalties, keep all of their players on the pitch, and play a full 80 minutes. If they can do that, the sky is the limit. Let’s hope they don’t lose the flair, which makes them fan favourites. When they play cautiously, they get hammered.
Awesome feedback brother
if Fidji plays like that they should cause some troubles to most of teams they will face :)
Hmm. Fiji often called for being off their feet in the ruck, but the French were doing it, too, and not being called for it. Penalties made a big difference. Aside from the braindead gift from the Fiji scrum half, this match was closer than the scoreline showed. Let’s hope the officials all get their eyes tested before the World Cup.
Are these tears for a preparation match seriously?
I agree, refereeing was not right balanced. Fingers crossed the referees have a closer look on these off feet in the ruck situations during World Cup. I'm pretty sure many teams will be penalized and not only France... New-Zealand? South Africa? Australia? Argentina? England? Wales? Scotland? Ireland? Italy? Georgia? Romania? Samoa? and so on... Wait does that mean all teams ;-)
@@lahire4943 , why are you crying? Abused child?
The WC will be decided by the ref on 50:50 calls - I guarantee it. Even on the highlights this was a stuttering, penalty strewn affair. The ref will decide...
I agree, also in the Ireland England game the ref was terribly slow on the scums. Really took momentum out of the game.
You'd need to have a good I've bath after playing these Fijian guys. Those hits look pounding.
Since many matches now ,commentator always mention Atonio as "the human asteroid" or his "140+ kgs". It is funny once maybe twice, but Uini deserves better.
Good performance
Hopeful refereeing wont be biased towards the home crowd in the world cup. Fiji can feel very hard done by for off their feet calls, ref needs to call the same penalties both sides.
J'espère le contraire cette année chez nous. Nous avons un énorme déficit de décisions défavorables lors de 1/2 ou de finales. Surtout du côté des Black
the 2011 final refereeing by Craig Joubert is still in everyone's memory my friend. The All Blacks were 16 on the pitch that day.
In rugby refereeing is Commonwealth refereeing .... hardly never favoring the French side.
7:28 that dad
You prolly switched the title name... Fijian Flair, French Power😂
How was that french pass not called forward..
Line ball imo and I'm Fijian. If anything Fiji were lucky Maqala wasn't carded for the high tackle.
@@MarkWhippy
I knew real Fijian men didn't need fake excuses... good luck for the world cup, I see you in the first 2 of your group.
It wasn't a forward pass. 50/50 call at best
Fiji played well and were very competitive at the breakdown. I thought they were unlucky with a few breakdown penalties against them and that another referee might have seen things differently. France is definitely a better side and deserved to win - but they were soft around the fringes. The All Blacks will be licking there lips if France are going to let through 'pick and go' tries like those.
French first try pass well forward.
How come no one seems to be able to create decent highlights of rugby matches? This is better than many, but so much of it isn't even play time, it's preparing for kicks or other deadball time.
Fiji will get better at they get more game time and get used to the conditions. I think they will be really dangerous as England found out last world cup!
Good game Fiji
They lost against a weak French team!
Joseva Tamani should be in the fiji squad
Dina bro
Hope he gets a call up if any of the backrow loose fowards gets injured. But then again they might callup peceli yato.
He's on standby
The Fijians played really well and gave the French a run for their money. The Fijians are getting better and better.
Ravutaumada and Tuispva to add firepower against England.
I would think those attributes should be swapped around.... Fijian flair and French power;
That's what I thought exactly as soon as I saw the title😂
Fiji need to work on that attacking game
Too bad they just didn't click well during that game. Hope they will rectify their mistakes and bring on their A game.
I see that on this Forum, many people are anti-France, did not confuse everything, even if France is governed by incapable people; this does not mean that the people are of the same opinion, France has a pool of very good players, and we must not bury them easily, only the result of this cup will make the decision, if France loses, there will have other occasions, the U20, three times world champion, not to be forgotten.
That's not the case at all, everyone loves the underdog, especially the pacific island nations
Lol the french are the favourites to win this world cup, absolutely no one is speaking down on them
@@sisamusudroka3000 "Favourites"? Lol, only in the minds of desperate NH fans. The RWC is a toss-up between the Boks and the ABs.
Can someone explain what the first penalty was about? Rewatching it I didn’t think that radradra (the player penalised) was advancing or had even advanced into an offside position? If someone could fill in the my missing knowledge that would be helpful. Just trying to wrap my head around what the offence was haha
He is in front of the kicker when the ball is kicked from the Fijian goal line he then chases the kick.
@@fentomime64oh I see so he was playing advantage! Thank you! I forgot that advantage is played a lot in this code of rugby

Forward
If youre going to call it extended highlights, please do Fiji the courtesy of extending their tries as well. That you cut straight to Fiji scoring, without showing how they got there, but felt that France's essentially identical try only slightly later was worth showing the lead-up is extremely disappointing.
If it wasn't for that Makalou try this would have been a different game
with "ifs", you could fit Paris inside a glass bottle.
Uncles and aunts...@@benoitcransac2178
Fiji's try by Radradra. Textbook. Zero forwards covering. Also, Maqala should shift to wing, fullback isn't his forte
forward pass on France's first try but great game nonetheless
High takle against french player
@@robertbriquet agreed...still doesnt cancel out the forward pass that happened BEFORE the high tackle 😁✌
Fiji take your revenge from colonists💪💪💪
We have no revenge on France. We respect France since a lot of our players play over there and the French offer more money for us than super rugby. England is the one we are really going to try and smash.
I liked your comment Sir, but I have problem with all colonists@@francois9747
As a French I find this comment very offensive as we always respect and admire their Fiji players and their country.
It's nothing to do with french people, I have so many french friends and they were always nice to me, but I have so many problems with french autocracy, that they find always some excuses to not being sorry what they have done before @@robertbriquet , please don't be offended

5:25 only just noticed Radrada shoulder charged that player, should have been given a ban.
ITS ALWAYS MR REF THE 16TH PLAYER AGAINST TEAMS LIKE FIJI...... TIER ONE CAN DO NO WRONG !
I truly fear for Wales.... Fiji look a well drilled and physical.... We was bullied by the springboks..... And I fear the flying Fijians shall do more of the same.......
Yeah. In terms of physicality Fiji is drfinitely among the best. They only lack in set pieces and discipline which costs them a lot since they keep giving the ball away with all of their antics.

Hey ref that's out.
France's first try was a forward pass. The referees are always biased against the smaller teams.
Yes. Without that pass unpunished Fiji would surely have won the match..

@@bosoerjadi2838 second try of fidjians wasn-t legal so no
yes, and it seemed to me at least that Fiji's 3rd try was not grounded (twas short) and was a knock on, they are just making the games entertaining and letting things go, wont happen in world cup
The same is true of sanctions. George Moala punished with 5 games, Owen Farrell nothing.
This Rugby world Cup 2023 id Frances to loose.
Scotland, Ireland, France, NZ, England and South Africa are the Nations to watch with Australia being the wild card at this cup.

I'm a South African and I clearly support them to the fullest to win this WC but unfortunately NZ is looking too good as they are the favorites...
@@queyoung754 interesting to see what happens when nz dont get quick ball, make every ruck a scrap and they'll be scratching their heads
Your comment is interesting, because all the favorites you mention are in the same part of the table!
Most of the favorites will not pass the quarters...
Conversely, several weaker teams will reach the semi-finals, because the other side of the table is weaker...
So, yes, Australia is one to watch...

5:26 pretty bad shoulder charge there on the try assist
Well done Fiji
Not much in it despite the score line.
Jeebus H Christ, that nordie irish commentator is horrendous. Are we going to have to listen to that irritation throughout the tournament? God help us.
Simple mistakes is still crippin back come on fiji world cup is just round the corner now or never minimise the mistakes and correct the wrong
lol This funny stereotype. As if Les Bleus of France only had French Flair and no power. 😂 Throughout the match the scrums, the rucks, were smashed and won by the French. The French have probably currently as it was also often their strength in the history of Rugby, the most powerful pack in the world or at least in the Top2 or Top3.
The big problem with the Anglo-Saxons is that they are greatly influenced by the US and even Hollywood vision of France and the French.
Hollywood sees France only through the small prism of Paris and its artistic minority, and falsely believing that France is populated by 70 million poets, artists and philosophers. 🤔😂🤣
While the reality is that France is largely populated today as before by tough and solid peasants and farmers who just love the Arts and Mathematics.
The referring was bad and I'm a french supporter.
We need more honest and unbiased sports fan like you in this world😂
@@RoyJones. The referring most of the time is pretty bad during major competition. It doesn't help the so called "smaller teams" to rise to the top. During the game France Fidji the pass on the first try is highly questionable and they should have checked it but the high tackle on LBB deserved at least a yellow card also. So who knows what was the ref thinking. French didn't stay on their feet in the rucks as well and were seen diving, Aldritt on the throw in wasn't even connected to anyone so that should have been contact when he started to move forward etc..
@@RoyJones.
and France needs fewer Anglo-Saxon referees to hope one day to win a World Cup...
