â In today's video I'll take you onboard Simoni Racing's Rocket Bunny widebody 1992 Honda NSX C30A for a few laps around Imola circuit during the final round of the Time Attack Italia 2019. This gorgeous NSX is fitted with a 3.5 liter stroker kit by Brian Crower with ITB's and its able to produce around 450 horsepower! The sound of the NA V6 screaming at 8000+ rpm is music to the ears!

Is that the same kinda Lancer as the black one in this video? The black one looks seriously fast even compared to this NSX..
Awesome đđ
Amazing driving! The only thing I would mention is that you could lift the clutch pedal a bit earlier during the hill-toe so it acts properly. In this current scenario, the late release of the clutch after revving the engine is causing the clutch discs to do the heavy work, breaking the car, since the RPMs has dropped. It would also spare your clutch discs life quite a bit, plus gaining a few seconds around the track and after each gear reduction.
Anyways, I will always be a fan of this incredible car.
Manual tech
@@Flashzinh0 Agree! If the rev match perfectly, you won't hear another sound after release the clutch.
I was watching the foot cam like 95% of the time, i couldnât look away. Such good crisp footwork, and the pedals look so perfectly positioned and spaced for his feet.
I was really surprised how he took his left foot off the clutch and on the resting plate so often. Very interesting indeed.
@@AttilaTheHun333333 imola has a lot of straight. So he could be on the gas throttle most the time when he got up to the right gear. And resting your foot on the clutch, can wear out the clutch.
Not that good on the foot work to be honest, the rev matching is done improperly.
â@@VinRZWell that's MOSTLY the case for road cars. These cars have a completely different clutch system and the pedal would engage woth you resting your foot on it so there would be 0 or just like the most miniscule amount of wear.
Driving a race car with manual gearbox is true motor racing.
Old head
@BunsBunny yeah, they're faster. But most people can agree not as fun tho lol
@BunsBunny more control and more fun?
@BunsBunny yeah like double clutching, heel toe, changing gear in general, more precise launches, being able to feel the bite point, initiate a drift, do a proper burnout, protect your engine from harm in a racing situation. Yeah, lots of things
@BunsBunny who said we need them? I said it's more fun. Also if you opened your eyes when reading the first comment you would've noticed I said sequentials were faster.
His dead pedal discipline level is 100, car looks like it has endless traction.
Noob here. What is the âdead pedalâ? I saw the quick pump of the brake pedal. Is it a brake fluid thing?
Dinky-Di Itâs a quick pump on the brakes as you noticed. Builds pressure in the brake pedal and pushes the brake pads closer to the disc, so thereâs less of a âdead spotâ when pedal is pushed on initial braking đđ»
@@thetalkingelement not sure but, i think it is the thing he puts his left foot on, whilst not "using" it :D
Dinky-Di Dead Pedal is the most left pedal. He is âdisciplinedâ by always putting his foot there when not needed.
Other question was about tap on the brake pedal.
That is done, mostly on these kinda race cars, to build brake pressure and make the brake temperature a bit higher.
@Dinky-di they are correct about the dead pedal, itâs far left he rests his foot there when not needed. I tend to leave my foot resting on the clutch pedal which is bad. I have heard the reason for the brake pedal pump ( in addition to what has already been mentioned and I believe is correct) is that you want to make sure you have brake pressure at all before you get to the braking zone. If brake temps have boiled your fluid and the pedal is soft you need to start downshifting and pumping that brake pedal.
I don't know why, but I'm getting so much nostalgia watching this. It's a lot like the Japanese GT drivers' videos from the 90's showing onboards with footwork and epic Japanese V6 grunt. Thanks for this, man!
Option mag! Best motoring.
They are still on here on CZcams, even new stuff check it out!
Yes!
Also old rally videos had this (just _way_ more shifts)...
YES
DUMBASS!!!
Any video with ITB's and a footcam gets a like from me without question.
I think Senna would've been really proud of the car and setup.
The Sound of the engine just gives me goosebumps
I see the words "Honda NSX" and I click on it.
Same Here Pal đ„
Me2!
I see the word âfeetâ and I click on it
me too bro
It almost sounds like an old V12 in a way. Love it.
Sounds like an uncorked Lamborghini Countach
Honestly
The NSX's V6 is 90 degree so I guess it does sounds a little different from a regular V6.
Man-Ho Chu Nono a lot of V6s have that raspy sound when straight piped.
NO, IT IS V6!
Its nice to see heal and toe still being used today in high performance race cars. Its nearly a lost forgotten art, like doubling the clutch.
Why would it not be used? Itâs most certainly not almost forgotten, not even close.
@@Pugrug. And what does double clutching have to do with anything, lol.
I dislike this tendency to romanticize bad gearboxes
@@MrBonki123 It's before synchronized gearboxes came about, totally useless after the 1970's

This car is the most beautiful thing I have seen in a really long time
I like to listen to this while i drive to work or driving home. It really makes for an exciting drive an gives me the feeling like im racing. In real life im only doing 60 on the highway but in my mind 130+.
that heel-toe shifting and rev matching was so satisfying to watch
Driving at Imola's with nsx is the best celebration of Ayrton Senna!
Bravo
You don't need to do drugs anymore after hearing the engine sound.

What a START!
Motorsport, especially natural like this, is incredible to watch from inside. This is enormous amount of tough skill before our eyes.
14 mins of pure bliss and genuine race car driving
Itâs rare to see a driver pre charging their brakes before actually braking. Nice
I was wondering why he was touching the brakes. Iâm pretty new to the racing footwork and my license is automatic but i also want to learn manual. Do you know why he is also using the gas pedal whilst downshifting? I thought he was try to get the RPM up in order to gain torque but i might be wrong.
@@cem5470 rev matching, making the engine rpmâs to match the wheel speed to ensure the engine is delivering full power when you go back to the accelerator.
@@joseacuna3239 thank you. So its kind of a racing thing not much of a daily driving skill
@@cem5470 it can be used on the streets but in deacceleration scenarios like going downhill to avoid shocking the gear box and differential.
@@joseacuna3239 got it. Thank you again much appreciated.
the honda nsx is by far my most beloved car. my absolute dreamcar. one day i will be able to afford this car and never give it back
Engine response on the throttle blips is incredible.
Absolutely flawless car and upload! It felt like we were at the track and in the car, incredible!
Love it. All of it. But try to hit the gas just as you are letting the clutch out instead of as you are depressing it. The rev match needs to bring the engine speed up to the transmission speed while engaging the lower gear. This prevents deceleration torque from over-braking the driven wheels, thus helping you not to spin under braking. You are doing a fantastic job with your footwork, just too soon. You can hear the engine revs going up again when you engage the clutch, long after the blib... Great driving and awesome car!
400++ hp for NA.. thats really pretty nice đ„đâ€
One of the best pedal cam videos I've seen. And the driver's skill is phenomenal!

That was just the warm up lap for the Porsche. Porsche is the car to beat not the other way around.
O cĂąmbio do NSX Ă© super lento por ser em H,por isso o carro nĂŁo tem um bom desempenho, se fosse o cĂąmbio sequencial a histĂłria poderia ser outra :D

The driver has definitely improved since last time I saw this car
This man's blips on downshift were absolutely superb đ„
Nothing like seeing a Japanese car co-designed by the late great Ayrton Senna smoking Ferraris and passing up countless other cars. He caught up to the dude in the Evo who was apparently sound asleep until the NSX was on his ass. NSX pilot only got passed by two cars! Excellent driving!
Love this. So clean and smooth. One day I'll have a comparable car and track, just mesmerizing.
The NSX is a mid engine car. Comparable car would be a SW20 MR2 or Lotus Elise as both engines are at the center. The Elise should be fast enough as it is a light car, less than a ton.
@@Joshua_N-A Why an SW20? The SW30 is over 300 kg lighter... and you dump a 2GR-FE (Toyota 3.5L V6 used in the Exige, Evora and their derivatives) in with relative ease.
BIG respect for him doing it in manual H transmission.
Excellent driving and footwork. Makes me love my NSX with its MANUAL TRANSMISSION even more.
A beautifull "onboard" moment ! Thank for this.
I like the way he taps the brake with left foot after a long straigh just before a corner, just to ensure the pads are right on the disks...
Yeah, I wish pad knock back wasn't a thing, but when it is...
Can you explain why he does that, tapping the brake way before the corner. I'm curious.

Well, I mean I think he is releasing the clutch too slowly/late when heel-toeing. But other than that his driving is spot-on. Even keeps his hands constantly on the same places on steering wheel. Lot of drivers onboards show the driver constantly changing the position they grip the wheel and makes me cringe so badly.
