I think he cut it short because when Rapunzel showed him that one short strand he cut it that length to make sure all the magic was gone and people don't understand and I like the short hair
I just wanna say this cause it’s been bugging me for YEARS: Eugene had to cut rapunzel’s hair that short because to slice it off clean with a mirror shard he needed the tension of her scalp and his fist, which couldn’t go that high because he was DYING ON THE FLOOR. it was a desperate attempt to save her and with the position he was in it didn’t allow the last minute decision to cut it longer. also Rapunzels hair short is cute af, y’all got no taste😔

Whenever Mother Gothel shows Rapunzel any kind of affection, she's actually showing it to her hair.
In contrast, whenever Flynn does the same, he pushes her hair away from her face.

Yeah I've always wanted more of the back story of Flynn Rider. That was my ONE complaint about this movie. I wish he told rupunzl more of a back story like Why were you a thief, and stealing the crown?!?

I remember watching this film in theaters with my mom. We saw it in 3d in a fairly empty theater. The lantern scene was mind blowing. They had reflectors, so even if you looked away from the screen the lanterns were still surrounding you and floating. One of the best magical experiences of my life. 🥰
Right same. I didn’t even see it in 3D and I still get chills when I think about the time I saw it in theaters.
Fun fact: the animators actually lit 4,000 lanterns just for the movie now that’s what I call hard work
All these times I’ve watched Tangled and I didn’t notice until a month ago Mother Gothel calls Rapunzel her flower. She’s literally speaking to the golden flower, not Rapunzel.
In defense of the choppy Bob, I think if they had made the cut very chest length or mid back, it wouldn't have the same dramatic impact. Like, seeing her hair just completely being chopped off feels more intense to me

Rapunzel is my #1 princess bc she is just amazing, energetic, positive, strong, smart and childish. People really need to watch the tv show bc her and everyone's character really develop and you explore more sides to them. In the Tv show Rapunzel does hit Mother Gothel with the pan in a interest way (No spoilers)

Why is this movie so good in virtually all respects? Most movies have that one thing that makes it stand out but with Tangled, virtually everything is perfect about it, I legitimately have no complaints about this movie whatsoever, it is peak Disney.

the only complaint i’ve ever heard is that rapunzel is 18 and eugene is 26,and obviously irl i think that’s weird,but they didn’t have any moments until she was 18 and at least she was an adult. major improvement from snow white and prince philip (she was 13 he was 33 for reference🤢)

Mother Gothel displays all the 11 aspects of narcissism (a personality disorder) or narcissistic behavior. The way she says demeaning and manipulative things to Rapunzel, but covers it up by joking or "I'm just teasing", or even "I love you", is a key narcissist trait. Cinema Therapy did an excellent video on the subject, breaking down all of the ways mother Gothel "gaslights" Rapunzel.

Yeah Mandy Moore because like Rapunzel she started her career as a blonde and dyed it brown when she got older. She's now a blonde again.

I saw Tangled in theaters when it first came out and “At Last I See the Light” was breathtaking on the big screen with surround sound. I remember feeling like I was there with them. I was actually tearing up.
Mother Gothel sucked at gardening so that's why she didn't bring the flower with her...

...Now that I think about it, this movie could have gone hella dark. What if mother Gothel didn't die when she cut her hair? What if she stayed alive, found out the only way to get the flower's healing power was through Rapunzel's tears. The sheer amount of torture she'd put Rapunzel through, probably using Flynn and her promise as leverage...
You should watch tangled the series when you get the chance, it's amazing. It's canon that Frozen and Tangled take place in the same world (Rapunzel and Flynn attended Elsa's coronation) It's a fan theory that Tarzan was related to Anna and Elsa since their parents shipwrecked and disappeared but Frozen 2 disproved that. There's also another theory that Anna and Elsa's mom is related to Rapunzel's mom since they look kind of alike. I can't exactly say it's been disproved but in Tangled the series it's been shown that the queen has one sister and she isn't the queen of Arrindell.
This movie really ruined my expectations on how romance is 😭

If you notice, anytime that Gothel is affectionate with Rapunzel, she’s looking/touching at Rapunzel’s hair. Not Rapunzel.
On the reverse side, Eugene is looking/touching Rapunzel herself.

Flynn is Zachary Levi but my big question from the film is why did Mother Gothel tell Rapunzel her real birthday? like.... she was a baby, she wouldn't have known. Her main interest in the lights stem from them happening on her birthday. Why wouldn't she give her a different birthday? She seems too smart for that big of a miss step

The flower actually just turns back time (if you get a cut it turns your skin back to normal, to the time you didn’t have the cut)…it doesn' grant imortalness. it is said in the song (make the clock reverse)
There's also a theory that rupunzl is the sixth spirit in Frozen two because she has powers from the sun, and the elements are Earth wind water and fire.

Tangled The Series answers most of your questions, for example, not really a spoiler if u hear the song well, Rapunzel's hair does not heal it turns back in time. The show also answers questions like the backstory of Mother Gothel, where Flynn is from... honestly I think everyone should watch it, it's a 9/10 for me😋😁

In the tv show they don’t have a smooth relationship before they get married. They really grow up over time and as a couple. That’s why they are hands down my favorite Disney couple and I love the show. But the show struggled from being super serious to being totally for kids. If you take all the actual serious (and omg Disney that’s dark you just did that?!) moments and put them together it would of made for an epic second movie. Because there is a dark creepy and shocking plot that goes though the whole show and it ends super epic. But Regardless of the kiddy moments it’s still awesome and the music is amazing!!!

If you want more backstory for Flynn and see Rapunzel with blond hair again I highly recomend watching the series
so in the tangled series, her hair comes back with the power of story and disney wanting to sell more merchandise of rapunzel with her blond hair. ;P And Zachery Levi voices Flynn rider, and in the tangled series, both Zachery Levi and Mandy Moore came back to voice Flynn and Rapunzel, which I think is so cool! And it's been about 10 or so years since Tangled came out since I was 16 when the movie came out in theaters, saw it for my birthday and I love it so much! (I also liked how you were applying logic to how Flynn cut rapunzel's hair during the super sad and dramatic scene at the end. ;P)
That dance in the kingdom is my favorite part of the movie, hands down. I love the music and the whole vibe

He’s very nonchalant about it, very much exudes the aura that he’s in control and unconcerned.
I believe he wanted the guard to chase him so that he could let the Stabbingtons take the fall and get all the lute to himself.
AND, if the Stabhingtons are behind bars, they can’t come after him for revenge.
Genius, really.
Plus you see throughout the movie how volatile the Stabbingtons are… they change their mind a lot, have emotional outbursts, not very clever.
Working with them long term would be much harder than sabotaging them.

Tangled is my #2 favorite Disney movie, Tarzan is my #1 favorite Disney movie.
When I was little, I actually thought the story was that Gothel actually named Rapunzel "Flower" when she was little, then changed it to Rapunzel later on.
She did something even worse than name her flower. She named her after the flower's name: the rapunzel. Rapunzel is the name of the flower that brings new life
Watching this movie without the first 10 minutes is everything. Because then you don’t know that Gothel isn’t her real mother, she gets her powers/what they are, and you don’t know Flynn later dies. Which makes the ending that much better! It takes a 10/10 movie to 100/10
I’m gonna be one of those ppl but go watch the Tangled series! The art is beautiful, there’s amazing songs, development from these characters and new ones, and the stories are great. I won’t give spoilers but Rapunzel’s long, blonde hair returns 👀

There's a lot of theories about Disney characters being related, particularly the princesses, but the one you were thinking about is froZAN we're Anna and Elsa are the big sisters of Tarzan. Apparently when the king and queen crashed they were the only survivors but they were close enough to get to land and they were in Africa and they had their baby and then got eaten by leopards. That is not the case. They were going north. Not south but Rapunzel is apparently their cousin. Because why else would she be at the coronation? I've heard a lot of theories about how one princess might be the mother or mother-in-law of another one. There's a ton of these but that's how Frozen relates to this girl
