  • Viscosity Reduction with Deflocculating Wetting & Dispersing Additives
Mono-functional wetting & dispersing additives like BYK-W 9010 show drastic reduction in filled viscosity reducing the filler to the primary particle size. This allows for maximum filler loading and overall lower cost. Lower viscosity results in better flow, improved wet out of the glass fiber and increased line speed for maximum efficiency.
    Rheology
Rheological additives such as GARAMITE-1958 and RHEOBYK-7410 ET allow the formulator to design an optimal rheological profile for anti-settling of solid particles, reduced liquid separation and improved sag resistance when sprayed on a vertical surface. The result is a more uniform composite, reduced defects for optimal quality and low overall cost of use.
    Viscosity Control Technology
BYK-P 2710 (Thixbreaker) is designed for the epoxy resin and BYK-P 2720 (Thixbooster) for the corresponding amine hardener component. Thanks to the synchronized interaction, the two additives enable the creation of the optimum application viscosity from two low-viscosity components. The result is finished formulations that can be applied with the same layer thicknesses, more quickly and considerably more easily than standard formulations. VCT can reduce the production time by roughly half, while the production volume during the same period is doubled.
