I haven't seen the video, but I'm gonna guess what some of the techniques are:
1.Draw at least one thing everyday
2.Draw fanart
3.Draw ships
4.Practice realism/anatomy
5.Draw surroundings
6.Do a monthly draw challenge (every month has some type of drawing challenge, just look it up)
7.Redraw old drawings
8.Jot down drawing ideas (idea page[s])
9.Get inspiration from others
That's all I can think of. I'll update and see if I got more than 1 right (I know for a fact my first one is in there, if it's not then i clicked on the wrong video, whoops)

Here’s a few ideas:
Get crayola crayons and make a wax masterpiece
Burn some wood and use that as charcoal. Sharpen with a kitchen knife perhaps.
Use tea water to paint
Stuff like this.
Or you could go to Salvation Army or dollar general, that works, too

heres a tip if you cant draw. use a reference photo, and make everything out of basic shapes. If you want, then go and detail it. This helped me out, hopefully it works for you too :D
