- Welcome back!
Quick turn around for a new video this time. As temps are on the rise I’m not in the woods quite as much, so upon request, I was able to get this video edited and posted finally.
In today’s adventure we hike the Eagle Falls trail at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park and explore the nearby, abandoned theme park, Six Gun City. Some people often confuse Six Gun City for Tombstone Junction. Tombstone Junction was down the hill closer to Highway 90 and featured an old steam engine. Tombstone Junction was open for roughly 30 years I believe and shutdown in the early 90s. Six Gun City was only open for around a year in the late 90s before it shut down. Judging by the trail and old posts between the overlook and Six Gun City, there may have been a trail that connected to the state park when Six Gun City was open. Even tho there’s now graffiti on the old buildings and the old signage is gone, Six Gun City is still a neat place to see and allows us to reflect on the past and history of the area.
If you’re ever in McCreary County I’d highly recommend this hike! Hope you enjoy this adventure. Thanks for watching!

We found six gun last summer, never knew of it. Amazing going somewhere all your life and finding something new 😀
I know right! It’s a pretty cool piece of history even tho there’s not much of it left.
Enjoyed very much. If I watched your video 1st I wouldn’t have missed Eagle Falls on hike, 😆
Just gives you another reason to revisit!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I live in Ohio but most of my family live in Corbin KY....loved going here as a kid and adult.. beautiful place, great memories. Dog slaughter is a fav. Where is that bridge in the opening? I don't recall ever seeing that.
Dogslaughter is a fave of mine too, it’s the first waterfall hike I did when I started hiking!
The bridge is part of the little intro, it’s not at Cumberland Falls, that one is at Falls Creek Falls State Park in TN 😅
Rewatching this and planning to go tomorrow 😊
Awesome! Just shoot me a message if you have any questions. You may wind up hiking in the rain again 😅
@@ExploringWithDRob yeah looks like it will wait until another time 😏 they had pushed the forecast back but it’s already sprinkling this morning lol
This weekend has more promising hiking conditions, just sayin!
Another well documented adventure! Keep them coming Dustin!
Thanks Greg! More in the works!
is the swinging bridge at :35 part of the Eagle Falls trail?
Sorry for the confusion on that, someone else asked the same thing. That first little bit was just an intro I had made that I wanted to use. That bridge is actually at Falls Creek Falls State Park in TN.
Awesome 🤩 I gotta get up there and see it before it’s gone!
You need to move it up the list! Lol
Are you allowed to get in the water there?
Yeah, Eagle Falls is a popular swimming hole
