As a kid, I went to the Hayride a few times when an adult would take me. I saw some real talent there, too, like Ernest Tubb. My oldest sister told me she had seen Elvis there among others when she went with older family. I had an aunt who was a secretary at KWKH who knew all the performers who played at the Hayride as they came by the radio station in hopes of getting there music played.
My gosh, hearing Frank Page's voice again. I worked with him at KWKH for a couple of years in the late 90s/early 00s. What a gentleman and a terrific air talent1
