Just when i was thinking: That vampire looks so much like the witch from the Hanzel and Grethel cartoon. Seconds later, Bugs turns him into that witch.
It’s weird that they actually made a dvd about bugs and the witch. And they used existing things to put into their story. They even re-voiced the vampire with the witches voice. And then went on from there after bugs made him into a witch
This cartoon is one of my absolute favorites. I crack up every time the Count gets crushed under that stone, and when he says "You wouldn't hit a bat with glasses on, would you?" and immediately gets whacked in the head. The timing is comedy gold.
This episode prevented vampires for ever being scary for me again, once I saw it. Gratuitous, unintended violence against supposed supernatural horrors robs them of their power. Thanks, Bugs.
This whole clip is pure gold but especially when he turns half bat half vampire and to top it off with Newport News and a wala wala Washington ... Pure gold thanks
This episode has to easily be the best Bugs Bunny cartoon from the 1960s. In fact, I think this is the best Looney Tunes episode made after 1960. It ended up being Chuck Jones' last Bugs Bunny episode, and he really went out with a bang. "Transylvania 6-5000" is definitely one of Bugs Bunny's top 20 cartoons.
Chuck Jones was fired after WB claimed his working on Gay Puree violated his exclusivity contract, and ironically,it was WB that ended up releasing Gay Puree.
Me,too. Hey,if we were inside a haunted house with a monster that says the magic words,we can do what Bugs Bunny had done in that cartoon, and it will be the greatest, funniest day of our lives.
This is was and forever will be "Gold" love this! Saturday morning cartoons were absolutely an art form, from the musical scoring for all this, animation, the wit of the humor, the story lines, the characters, those of us lucky enough to share our Saturday mornings with the cartoons of old were truly lucky 😊😳😆😊😂
I loved this episode as a kid, I almost laughed my self out of air and died I would laugh so hard. To the people who think this would scare a kid, really in what way? My parents used to put 'The Thing' (1980ish horror movie with Kurt Russel) on when I was kid with me in the room (about six years old) with spiked alien barbs bursting out of dog faces (I had trouble with dogs for awhile after that)
+Dreyeth Cordaine To be honest I found some parts of Quackbusters creepy, but it was mostly the ghost house with the rats and the dead millionaire dog.
Once upon a time Saturday mornings were all about Bugs, Daffy, the Road Runner, Johnny Quest etc... and they were wonderful! I really don't understand what's being passed off for cartoons now a days.
The background art was sublime. Not long after these toons, the idea that the background was not important ruined the visual impact of generations of toons.
I never understood the humor as a kid, but then again, I'm Dutch and I didn't speak English back then, and the "I'm a vampire-I'm an umpire" joke doesn't work in Dutch, so you could speak of "lost in translation" Makes it all the more fun to watch it again now ;)

This is probably my favorite Looney Tunes episode of all time since Bugs Bunny always finds a way to outsmart who he comes across with whether it’s Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, Daffy, Marvin the Martian, or any other baddie that causes problems
Of all cartoon characters, Buggs captured the human condition so well. Sceens of Buggs putting his but down into a hot pot, and going OOh ahh ahhhhhhh: Priceless. This particular Buggs cartoon, captures a child like humor that we seem to have forgotten these days; what a shame. I liken Buggs cartoons to the Beatles in it's genius. And if you have never seen Buggs playing Broom Hilda, (lol) and Elmer chasing him with his "spear and Magic helmet," you do need to googe it.... "What's Opera Doc." So now I can say, having re- re- re disposed of the monster in modern thinking, I wish you all well.
I remember this one! One of my favorites! What a treat! Thanks for posting! I've been finding all my old favs tonight! You and the others are the best for finding and posting these!!!
The thing that I like about Bugs Bunny that he lived by his wits. Now there were times that he got outwitted, but the majority of the time he will outwit many of his adversaries.
I’m 45 and I still laugh at this! It never, ever, ever gets old!

The Salem's Lot rolled around and put that fear right back.
The vampire choking on the smoke while Bugs merilly sings his "la la dee dee la la da da" is just perfection.
It's bug spray.
DDT was still legal then.
Just magic
