@@tordrajaratnam7435 No, YAH is the short form of YAHAWAH. YAH is the name which is above every name.
“For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved’”
      (Romans 10:13).
What is “the name which is above every name”?
The answer is given by the prophet Isaiah. “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV). Where did the name YAH come from? First, did you know that the name Jesus has only existed since the 17th century? Therefore, God never revealed the name Jesus, nor did the apostles ever know Him by the name Jesus.
But what of the name YAH? We look to Moses. “Then Moses said to God, ‘Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?’ And God said to Moses, “HaYAH Ashar HaYAH” [meaning: “I AM WHO I AM”]. And He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM {YAH} has sent me to you.’ Moreover, God said to Moses, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations’” (Exodus 3:13-15). “HaYAH” means “the I AM” YAH is “the name which is above every name.”
Since the apostles never knew the name Jesus, which was placed by man into the New Testament, and not according to the revelation of God, we need to put back the revealed name of the Savior.
Is this name YAH a part of the Savior’s name? The apostle Paul assures us of “the name which is above every name,” as part of Christ’s name. He testified, “While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ So I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said, ‘I am YAHSHUA, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me’” (Acts 26:12-18). Christ told Paul His name in Hebrew. And this is what Paul wrote to the Philippians, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him ‘the name which is above every name,’ that at the name of YAHSHUA, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). Christ, Himself told the people that He is YAH, meaning “I AM.” Our Savior said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM {YAH}.” The expression “I AM”, means YAH. We praise our God and Savior with this expression: “Halleluyah, Praise YAH!”
Shua means “my help,” as in “salvation.” YAHSHUA means, “I AM Salvation.” And the apostle Peter testified, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” When the Sanhedrin (Jewish Court) heard the name YAHSHUA, as the name YAH is the very name given to Moses, and they recognized the very name YAH, that they sought to hide from the Gentiles, for fear that the Gentiles would profane the name, the Sanhedrin forbid the apostle from preaching in this name, “YAHSHUA” (Acts 4:17-18). However, when the apostles preached in the name of YAHSHUA, the people did not hear it, instead, they heard the name Yeshua (a common name among the Jews at that time), and unless one was part of the Way, the Nazareans, the name YAHSHUA was not well known. Yeshua, an Aramaic name, was a common name in the 1st century.
Those who reject the name YAHSHUA need to take warning, “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18). Why is this important revealed name, YAHSHUA, not better known? The answer is given by YAHSHUA, He said, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). “Few there be who find it.”

You got it all wrong. It is YehoVAH (emphasis mine because emphasis is on 3rd syllable not the second like you pronounced it. If you search the Aleppo Codex you will find the vowel pointings in the Tetragrammaton in several versus, like I kings 8:11, 2 Kings 20:9 etc,,, The vowel pointings of adoni have nothing to do with it, but were lies to hide the true pronunciation of His Holy, HOLY NAME. This is also found in several of the TOP manuscripts including the Babylonian pointing system, not just the Tiberian Codex.

What's wrong with you that you have an issue that God named himself? God is God he could do what he wants . Or do you not believe that LOL . But we know names come from God because God named Adam and Eve. And then God told Adam to name all the animals. The name was in the Bible thousands of times before man so conveniently took it out because of their superstitious beliefs, honestly you don't know how ridiculous you sound saying that God didn't have a name. God is only a title and there are many gods on this Earth. But a name is an identifier of an individual, and in this case God's name no other person has on this Earth the most powerful and the most important name anyone will ever be able to encounter. Thank God that he allows us to know it.

The Tetragrammaton YHWH appears thousands of times in scripture. Notice how Ex 3 :15 reads :
" Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, Jehovah, the God of yopur fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you : this is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations." (ASV)
The presenter suggests that the name was read but not spoken . This is absolute nonsense. There is widespread archaeological evidence of the use of the name and it was widely used in Psalms. The real question should be why was there a need for the video and who gave translators the authority to remove the name from the ascriptures, given the words of Ex 3 :15.

The apostle Peter gave this testimony: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). However, we have many names for Christ: Jesus, Iesus, Iesous, Yeshua, Isa, and not to mention the pronunciation “Hey-zeus.” So is the name based on God’s revelation or on the linguistics of mankind? So which one is the revealed name from Heaven? Halleluyah is universally known throughout the world, and yet few seem to know what it actually means. Hallelu, means Praise, and YAH is the name which is above every name. So Halleluyah means “Praise YAH.” YAH means “I AM” in Hebrew. YAH is found in Strong’s Dictionary of Bible Words # 3050. Where did the name YAH come from? Moses asked God for His name: “Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” And God said to Moses, (“HAYAH ASHAR HAYAH) “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM {YAH} has sent me to you.’ Moreover God said to Moses, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations’” (Exodus 3:13-15). According to the prophets “YAH” is the only name of salvation for us: Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation” (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV), and Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, By His name Yah, and rejoice before Him” (Psalm 68:4 NKJV). “I, even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior” (Isaiah 43:11). Christ tells us that He is YAH, when He said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM {YAH}” (John 8:58). Christ is I AM, that is YAH. Therefore the angel came to Joseph and said, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name YAHSHUA, for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Joseph was given a command to name Him YAHSHUA! The apostle Paul on the road to Damascus, to persecute Christians, was confronted by a bright light, and the Savior told him, “I am YAHSHUA...” (Acts 26:13-15). The apostle Paul heard the name which is above every name, for he writes, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of YAHSHUA every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Messiah is LORD, to the glory of God the Father. What happens if I reject this one name given under heaven by which we must be saved? “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18). The name Jesus has only existed in its present form since the 17th century. Reject the revealed name YAHSHUA, the one name by which we must be saved, and stand before the judgment throne condemned.

NOPE... combining two different things. "Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh" is a phrase that describes God's nature = I am who I am or I will be who I will be. This was God's first response to Moses. But in verse 15 YHWH, the god of your fathers... this is my name forever. YHWH is his name which is where we get Yah and Yahweh. Some believe it means "to be, to exist." Bottomline, I am who I am (Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh) is a description. YHWH is his name forever and is used all over the scripture. Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh is not used as his name in other scriptures.

📑 With the decay of the Hebrew language at times and the absence of the Torah at other times during the lives of the ancient generations of Jews, that absence during the intermittent periods of the distant past led to the loss of the Hebrew memory of the vowels connecting the entire written language not only the name of God, which led to moving forward in the restoration of Hebrew based on the local languages that The Jews lived among in the past like Aramaic, then the Latin languages later, which led to confussion and then to the separation of Hebrew from the Semitic languages and its acquisition of a completely different context, dominated by a Western character.
📑 It is inappropriate to judge it yourself that the Creator is without a certain name, leaving His name to humans, for the name of the Great Creator is what He calls Himself with and grants It His sanctity by Himself.
📑 The word YHVH is not a name known for God as it is promoted, but rather a title of deity (YHVH=LORD) OR (GOD) and nothing more.
You do not realize that Ezra conveyed to the Jews the idea that 'Elohim is God' by teaching them that (Elohim is YHVH) and of course the Jews understood at that time what Ezra didn't mean at all , unfortunately they interpreted this asif the word YHVH is a new and better name for Elohim, so it can be attributed to the Jews own God rather than to God Himself.
When Moses was addressed by Elohim, he did not say that he was another God, or that he had replaced His personal Name with a new Name. Rather, the Jews interpreted the words of Elohim in order to be understood so .
It is self-evident that the Creator says to Moses:
☝ Iam the Lord your God.
      (אני אלהים יהוה שלך.)
I am the God your Lord.
      (אני האלוהים אדונכם.)
📑 In order to know where the derivation of the title (YHVH) came from, you only need to return to the Hebrew phrase that can cause this problem, something like(The Lord is Elohim/ God is God.) or(אלוהים הוא ה’ 0 ) and to read it from left to right in contrast to reading the Hebrew language to realize how the problem occurred between the Jews of that time with Ezra.

In Masoretic Text the letters Yod, Hė Waw, Hė for "YHWH" is pointed with vowels sh'wa, cholam, qamets from "Adonai" giving the hybrid reading "Jehovah", but actually intended to be read as ADONAI; some Jews read as "HaShėm" = The-Name.

YHWH is the English transliteration of four(4) Paleo-Hebrew letters HWHY spelled and read Yud, hey, waw, hey (Gk.Tetragramma) the name of ULHÍM. The combined four (4) paleo-Hebrew letter YHVH (correctly read and pronounced ‘YÁOHU or YÁO-HOO or YÁW-HOO’), as written in the original archaic Hebrew Scriptures, means “I am that I am” (Exodus 3:14-15) - the only revealed name of ULHÍM.

I don’t know whether this guy is just poorly read or whether he is being deliberating misleading……I’d urge readers to do their own research into the divine name.
Exodus 3:14 is a much debated translation, given the root word here “Hayah” means to come to pass, to be, to become. It doesn’t mean “I am” it’s just an inaccurate translation of that root word. And they mean very different things.
If one is asked the question are you in the hotel yet? And you say “I am” that means you are there, if you say “I will be” it means you are in your way. This is basic English 101. The tense is also critical here.
God Almighty doesn’t here identify himself with a name he doesn’t mention the word “Shem” name at all. God wasn’t simply confirming his own existence he was telling Moses and Israel that he has the power to and desire to deliver them and deal with any obstacles that came their way.
It is in Exodus 6:3 that God Almighty (El Shaddai) reveals his personal name and uses the word “Shem”, name. It is here he uses the divine name of YHWH. We can’t be dogmatic about the translation we just don’t know how it was pronounced. Jehovah for sensible reasons is the most widely used English translation, but Yahweh also works.
Sorry this gentlemen how ever well meaning is just textually and lexically incorrect. But hey, don’t take my word for it do your own objective word studies.

Except for the namenof God, I highly suggest you look at Exodus 6:3 in your KJB. And if you think Yahweh is Jesus in the old testament. Nope that ain't him. YHWH is what the Hebrews wrote down for his name. And Jesus isn't his name. Yeshua is his name. So, YHWH is God's name without the vowels, and here Yeshua's name without the vowels YSH and that isn't YHWH. So obviously that YHWH is someone completely different than Yeshua.
And that someone different is God Almighty, Jehovah, Yahweh, Yod-He-Waw-He, Yehovah, Yehowah. But definitely not Jesus

Exodus 34:14 His name is Jealous

    • @S.R.M.
      @S.R.M. Před měsícem

The name Jesus has only existed since the 17th century. Look at a 1611 English KJV Bible, and it is not Jesus, but you find the name Iesus. Iesus transformed from Iesous.
God did not reveal these names Jesus, Iesus, or Iesous, which is a transliteration of Yeshua.
“Few there be who find it.” Halleluyah, Praise YAH, Praise YAHSHUA!

The only big mistake I see in your presentation is regarding the Masoretes. That was a body of Jewish Scribes who created the Massorah - or Massoretic Text. They did NOT want to "rewrite" the Hebrew Scriptures; instead, they made vowel notations to preserve proper pronunciation. For example, the Hebrew letter ש (Shin) can have two sounds. Si and Sh. These dot notations are called Niqqud. So taking the letter ש, if there is a dot above the left-most branch, the letter is pronounced Si (as in Sign). The letter is pronounced as Sh if the drop appears above the right-most addition. A pneumonic to help is "She is always right".
One can look at the Dead Sea Scrolls, which do not have the Massoretic Niqqud and compare that to a TaNaK (a true Hebrew Bible - not a translation). Other than the occasional use of Paleo-Hebrew, one will see that the letters are the same. Usually, this is when the Tetragammatron appears. So the Scribe (not all) would switch to Paleo-Hebrew out of reverence.
Side note - there is no commandment prohibiting the writing of the 4 Sacred Letters of G-d's Name, but there is a Commandment saying never erase it. This is why you would never hear it said in Synagogue, nor even see someone write it out. When they do, they will generally write a + between the letters to not actually write The Name alone. There is a commandment to never take God's Name in vain. That can mean several things. Including the use of the Name in everyday speech. Or worse, for someone to say they are presenting their comments in the Name of God. In Exodus 20, you will find this Commandment is the only sin God said he would never forgive. So best not even say it. Or, as you pointed out, subbing in Adonai or HaShem, which is more common. HaShem means "The Name."
You mentioned LORD in all Caps. You are correct. In English Bibles, if the Hebrew contains the actual Name of God, then LORD appears. If only the L is capitalised (or the entire word is written in lower case), Adonai appears in the original Hebrew. A good example is Psalm 110. "The LORD said to my Lord" becomes " said to my Lord. In this case, the Lord would be David. "My Lord" carries over into English in the4 Middle Ages when addressing the King.
There are, in some copies, Trope notations along with Niqqud. These Trope notations direct the one chanting the Torah (for example) in how the melody should go. While the Trope is the same various Jewish communities developed sounds to associate with it. So, for instance, in a Chumash (Torah in book form) with Trope, I would vocalise the Trope according to my tradition (Sephardim). Others would use a melody associated with the Ashkenazim (The largest group of Jews in the world) Sepharad means "Spain" in Hebrew. Ashkenaz means "Germany" in Hebrew. We have different sounds associated with each Trope symbol, but the Trope itself remains the same.
In the Scroll used in Synagogue, there are no Niqqud nor Trop notations. One learns how to chant by practising using a Chumash. Usually, when one chants from the Torah, another person is standing next to them with a Chumash. If the chantor makes any mistakes, the one with the Chumash helps them re-state with the proper pronunciation.
Why is the Torah chanted in Synagogue? Remember, there were no Microphones when the Jews returned from Babylon, so by creating a melody which could be heard, the audience in the back would understand if a new subject was being introduced in the Text (by hearing the song for the opening lines of a new topic) and of course the last or ending of the Parsha (Portion) read for that Shabbat.
Modern Hebrew or Ivrit does not use Niqqud. In this way, you can understand that the presentation of Hebrew in the Script is really Hyrogliphic in nature. Each letter represents an object. That object has a sound associated with the first letter of the word. The pronunciation of Hebrew as spoken in Israel today is Sephardic.
Finally, there is no J sound in Hebrew. But taking the Niqqud created for the word Adonai and placing them under the 4 Letters of the Sacred Name, it could be Yahovah and changed to Jehovah over the centuries.
    Thx for reading.

Isn't that what the Masoretic Text does though? It inserts the vowel points of Adonai under the Tetragrammaton יהוה‎, to form יְהֹוָה, which was commonly used to form the term "Jehovah" or "Yehovah"
However, scholars unanimously agree now that the original vocalization would be יַהְוֶה meaning "Yahweh"

    • @clouds-rb9xt
      @clouds-rb9xt Před 2 lety

To never erase it? Then why was the original pronounciation "Yahweh" lost for a period of time?
      That's.. kind of erasing it.
Scholars agree that the original pronounciation was for the tetragrammaton was less widespread after the destruction of the second temple and was forgotten entirely by the 5th century CE.

    In my opinion...
Until the Romans decreed that His Name would never be spoken again, a Rabbi was Crucified for saying Gods name in public around 300 AD, Yad Hey Voh Hey, Yehovah. (There is no 'J' in Hebrew). Before that, His Name was spoken all of the time in public. Then the Jews freaked out, and not wanting to be Crucified too, they said that His Name was to Holy to speak out loud, thus surrendering to their new god, Satan. (Pharisees...)
Is it any wonder that Gods Chosen people are being persecuted again? They deny His Name, like he's the Relative that everyone is ashamed of.
His Name is written over six thousand times in The Torah, the first five books of the Bible, which has been mis-translated more times than any other book in History.
Oh, and Jesus real Name is Yeshua, and you wonder why no one is healed in His Name.

It's a shame you summarized using the name Jesus, which cannot exist in any language prior to the 17th century and did not link to the fact that the Father's Name Yah is in the Name of the Son Yahshua (Yah is salvation)
It's an answer to multiple prophecies and Yahshua Himself said, "I have come in My Father's Name." (Jhn 5:43) and "Your Name which You have given Me." (Jhn 17:11)

His name is in the VERY NEXT SCRIPTURE AT 3:15 Where he says to Moses "Moreover this is what your to say to the Israelites (the KJB says LORD all capitalized but it suppose to be YHWH in Hebrew) The LORD GOD of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God Issac, and the God of Jacob has sent me, this is my "NAME" FOREVER and this is my memorial to all generations. So is his name LORD GOD?? Absolutely NOT! LORD AND GOD ARE TITLES. YHWH OR JEHOVAH IS HIS NAME THAT LIE I AM. I don't understand why you people tell these lies and twist the scriptures. Especially when the very next scripture right after that I am crap, says this is my name forever. If your Bible hadn't taken his name out of the Bible you'd know who God was. But instead you call him LORD GOD. Why??? All throughout Psalms he talks about people knowing his name and David talk about praising and singing songs to his name. How are we to-do that if yall takes his name out of the Bible???

God has a real name as He revealed to Moses.

Could the name of Jesus-“God with us”-represent God’s disposition in its entirety? Could it fully articulate God? If man says that God can only be called Jesus and may not have any other name because God cannot change His disposition, these words are blasphemy indeed! Do you believe that the name Jesus, God with us, alone can represent God in His entirety? God may be called by many names, but among these many names, there is not one that is able to encapsulate all of God, not one that can fully represent God. And so, God has many names, but these many names cannot fully articulate God’s disposition, for God’s disposition is so rich that it simply exceeds man’s capacity to know Him. There is no way for man, using the language of mankind, to encapsulate God fully. Mankind has but a limited vocabulary with which to encapsulate all that they know of God’s disposition: great, honored, wondrous, unfathomable, supreme, holy, righteous, wise, and so on. So many words! This limited vocabulary is incapable of describing the little that man has witnessed of God’s disposition. Over time, many others added words that they thought better able to describe the fervor in their hearts: God is so great! God is so holy! God is so lovely! Today, human sayings such as these have reached their peak, yet man is still incapable of clearly expressing himself. And so, for man, God has many names, yet He has no one name, and this is because God’s being is so bountiful, and the language of man so impoverished. One particular word or name does not have the capacity to represent God in His entirety, so do you think His name can be fixed? God is so great and so holy, yet you will not permit Him to change His name in each new age? Therefore, in every age in which God personally does His own work, He uses a name that befits the age in order to encapsulate the work that He intends to do. He uses this particular name, one that possesses temporal significance, to represent His disposition in that age. This is God using the language of mankind to express His own disposition. Even so, many people who have had spiritual experiences and have personally seen God nevertheless feel that this one particular name is incapable of representing God in His entirety-alas, this cannot be helped-so man no longer addresses God by any name, but simply calls Him “God.” It is as though the heart of man is full of love and yet also beset with contradictions, for man does not know how to explain God. What God is is so bountiful that there is simply no way to describe it. There is no single name that can summarize God’s disposition, and there is no single name that can describe all that God has and is. If someone asks Me, “Exactly what name do You use?” I will tell them, “God is God!” Is that not the best name for God? Is it not the best encapsulation of God’s disposition? This being so, why do you spend so much effort seeking after the name of God? Why should you cudgel your brains, going without food and sleep, all for the sake of a name? The day will arrive when God is not called Jehovah, Jesus, or Messiah-He will simply be the Creator. At that time, all the names that He has taken on earth shall come to an end, for His work on earth will have come to an end, after which His names shall be no more. When all things come under the dominion of the Creator, what need has He of a highly appropriate yet incomplete name? Are you still seeking after God’s name now? Do you still dare to say that God is only called Jehovah? Do you still dare to say that God can only be called Jesus? Are you able to bear the sin of blasphemy against God? You should know that God originally had no name. He only took on one, or two, or many names because He had work to do and had to manage mankind. Whatever name He is called by-did He not freely choose it Himself? Would He need you-one of His creations-to decide it? The name by which God is called is a name that accords with what man is capable of apprehending, with the language of mankind, but this name is not something that man can encompass. You can only say that there is a God in heaven, that He is called God, that He is God Himself with great power, who is so wise, so exalted, so wondrous, so mysterious, and so almighty, and then you can say no more; this little bit is all you can know. This being so, can the mere name of Jesus represent God Himself? When the last days come, even though it is still God who does His work, His name has to change, for it is a different age.
