I brought the oil seal and damaged the timing cover now i have to replace the timing cover 😔

Service procedure says, you need the special tool that will hold the balancer at tdc while you remove the bolt. Why is that? The renegade I worked on said nothing about that, but now the 2018 Cherokee I’m working on says it can’t move from tdc
