Damn, great 'sode.. As someone who struggles with depression & sometimes suicide I can't tell ya how much it means for really anyone to reach out when you give a signal for help.
This episode means a lot to me. First off, this is exactly what this show was intended to be at its core, laughter through pain to show we're all human and we all feel the good and the bad of life. Secondly, my uncle committed suicide years ago because he was bipolar and tired of living life with the cards he had been dealt, so I know this particular pain intimately. Beyond that, Jeremiah's first episode aired right before Kill Tony came to KC (my hometown as well as Jeremiah's), and I had recently learned that my father-in-law had cancer. He started chemo the day of the show, 1 week after my birthday, 6 weeks after my wedding day. Obviously not the honeymoon period my wife and I had pictured. BUT I got pulled from the bucket to do my first standup set on my favorite podcast (besides the Honeydew of course). It was an awesome experience during a terrible time and reminded me that good shit happens too. I stayed for pics and autographs and told Jeremiah that his cancer diagnosis being a treatable one gave me some hope and optimism in the midst of one of the worst months of my life, and he was so sincere when I told him and sympathetic to my situation. He's as kind as anyone I've ever met, and I'm glad I got to meet him.
Being a grown man that was raised a pentecostal preacher kid who was home schooled and a 6 foot tall that weights 140 pounds. I really relate with Jeremiah 😂😂😂🙌🙌🙌
