I had the privilege to visit this stall in Suidobashi back in 2016, in which I took a pic with the old man after eating. I visited again in 2017, sat and ate my meal once again. When I finished, I pulled out my phone and showed him the pic we took together the year before. I told him I made it top priority to come visit and eat his delicious ramen once again. The smile he had on his face was priceless. As I left that evening, he came from around his cart and bowed deeply as I walked away. An incredible experience(s) that I'll cherish forever!
awesome.

When covid over, I will fly to Japan to eat in this Ramen stall 🥰 hopefully meeting some tyongf and nctzen there 🙏
@@Hyrichi When covid over, Please come to Japan!!🇯🇵 I hope your wish will come true 😊🙏✨
My hubby and I stopped by his stall way back in 2010. Hubby had a bowl while I just stood by and waited for him. The owner felt bad for me for not eating so he passed over a small bowl of broth for me to have a taste as well. He was so friendly and kind to us, even though neither of us spoke Japanese.
I'm so glad he's still in business! Hopefully he'll still be around next time we visit.
I felt bad you didn't buy his ramen
You stood there while he ate. If my wife didn't want to eat I would not of eaten even if I was hungry.
@@The.Drunk-Koala If I'm the wife and not in need of eating, I'd love my husband to just go ahead so we can move on.

Food videos like these warm my heart.
You can tell that the stall owner probably served over a million bowls of ramen at this point.
But he's so careful and puts so much attention and love into each bowl. It's a zen-like experience.
Long life to the stall owner.
Imagine a cold, late at night, after work on your way back home to be greeted by a warm, delicious, bowl of ramen and a father-like chef.
I wanted to experience this so bad when i was a kid. And watching this video made me smile :)
Well, i imagine when im so hungry at late night and decided to take a walk then greeted by a father-like chef and served by his delicious ramen, that would be the best thing ever.
@@thebestboys8154 oh my gosh YES.
To be honest i prefer the old style over modern because when you are eating there it bring back a sense of feeling of home and bring back memories (sorry for bad english)
We still have one old man roaming around our street after working hours. Me and my friends are university professors and we always go home a bit late. He was always around except when the weather is bad (storm or high snow) and knows that we will be there to eat. The old man's already at his late 80's but still does all prep work and cooking with only small assistance from his daughter. We still prefer eating in these kinds of stall most of the time rather than go to a restaurant.
You know the food is gonna be good when:
-The menu is all worn out
-The chef is a old guy
-The food is cheap
Trueee XD
10 dollar for a meal is not cheap in where I come from. 😁😁😁
Couldn't agree more
I think this applies for all countries xd
Mexican here
That's not cheap at all for our standarts, so pretty much it's gourmet food for us
Why would anyone dislike this video?? It’s so wholesome.

What a beautiful video. Stalls like this will disappear once the owner passes, like in many countries around the world. Thanks for capturing this scene for future generations.
yeah, they may have kids but kids these day they mostly don't want to do this kind of traditional work anymore, too bad this will disappear soon and only in people memories
Kids these days r all day in their phones playing gacha games. They dont know this kind of stuff. Sad
There are Ramen food trucks and street vendors. It's not like the art is going away. It's just the evolution of the art.
in my country still many ramen stall like this, and the taste so damn delicious
@@cornflakes3071 Ironic coming from someone with that picture.
The chef just like a warm hearted father. He concerns about your life but make it not too obvious
As far as any of us know, anyway
I like how he appreciates him for coming and visiting his stall

These noodle stalls are the most comfortable places to eat in many Asian countries. I thought Japan has developed so much and to see such an old tradition still there it's beautiful. I hope to eat at his stall one day :))

Food stall is very common in our country and cheap. Japan is very advanced country so food stall are rare now
Watching this video bring tears to my eyes.
My dad also have similiar job like him, we have a restaurant shop house, growing up i knew how hard my parents are working, they sleep at 11-12 PM, wake up at 4-5AM. My room is beside theirs so i notice. I literally crying while typing. My mom always pray for the family early morning, my dad is a hard worker, now sadly their physical condition is slowly decreasing.
Please cherish your parents if/while they are still alive. Really you never know how seriously precious your parents are until they are gone.
I agree brother❤️
God bless you and your parents, brother 🙏🏻
I hope you are able to give them the happy moments 🥰 even if they are little
Yea bro they are precious 😢
Salute and love to Japanese nation, i feel your feelings by watching Oshin serial on Tv. Iam Kurd..
May the seller stay safe and healthy during and after this pandemic 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yup i hope and pray also.
I am extremely surprised and fascinated that such vintage and traditional form of food stalls exist in tokyo...
I remember by grandma talking about the streets of tokyo, the food there and the culture, I was born and raised in Malaysia for 17 years although I’m half Japanese I have never once step foot there until I was in uni, the moment I entered there I was never returning to Malaysia. The peace and quietness there, the food is just perfect.
This tradition will never die in Japan, its one of the most bucket list of tourist who go there.
@Shadow M hell yeah!, I wanna experience this someday.
I think it will die, or reborn as a tourist spot with hundreds of chinese ppl cutting line
@@hs5942 yea why specify chinese?, as far as i know foreigners from western countries love Ramen more than chinese.
@Allen Tokyo can confirm
@@seppukun208 You think all Chinese are the same?! Yeah, I'm Chinese and feel offended by your comment, I love ramen so much, I don't want this tradition to be gone
I really hope this video helps promote his shop. He's so hardworking

What a personable and hard working chef....there's just something about the din of an urban setting, the lighting and occasional vehicle passing by juxtaposed against such a quaint and time-worn stall. The kind of spot that could pop up anywhere but would ALWAYS be worth your time to find...not to mention the food itself looks DELICIOUS 🤤
لا تكبر الموضوع تراه شي طبيعي
It's so authentic, you'll appreciate his recipe that been passed for generations in his family. Love this. Support this kind of street food vendor. This is the real food that everyone should have.
Wow, he even come around the stall to place the bowl on the counter instead of hand it to the customer. That’s quality service.
Growing up, watching anime which shows at least some reflection of Japan in a way, ramen noodles and these kinda mobile carts looked so cool and a part of the culture in a way.
Now that I'm a little older, I don't know if and when I visit Japan I'll get to see and experience such shops and their food, but it's definitely nice to have the whole image captured through this vid.
this is much better than our unsanitary dosa/vada pav stalls lol

I love how the owner talks to strangers so nicely and he's so chill bout it
This is how I imagine the phrase, "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life" looks like. I'm sure it's a lot tougher than it looks, but obviously he loves what he does and I'm sure every time he sets up his stall, he feels fulfillment out of bringing other people joy and sharing a moment with each and every one of his customers.
Wow, is that really????
It's like playing a "game"
Sadly people who dont know what thats truly means overworked and abused by some company
Even if you love the work its also important to take a rest and value your time to enjoy life a bit
@@veenibik336 That phrase usually applies on people who work for themselves. You are your own boss, you do what you love and you do it because you want to do it.
That's the opposite of what I've been told, never took a job the same as your hobby, because eventually you gonna hate it, and then you don't have a hobby anymore....
The moment i saw this it reminded me of the ramen guy in naruto he was always so kind to him even when naruto was still a small child he didnt treat naruto like a monster like everyone else instead he treated him like a normal person he fed him, he talk to him and even cared for him like a son.
