Heat waves can cause heat exhaustion, heat cramps, heat rash, and heat stroke. Heat stroke is a life-threatening condition that can cause confusion, loss of consciousness, and seizures. Other symptoms include dry skin, swelling in the lower limbs, headache, irritability, lethargy, and weakness. Heat can also lead to dehydration, kidney injury, and blood clots.
    Chronic conditions
Heat waves can worsen chronic conditions like cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, cerebrovascular disease, and diabetes-related conditions.
    Other health risks
Heat waves can also increase the risk of accidents and occupational injuries. For example, workers may experience sweaty palms, dizziness, and fogged-up safety glasses. Heat waves can also disrupt essential health services like transportation and power supply.

I myself have noticed temperatures had been less extreme in recent years.

I'd be very alarmed if I were in Northern Hemisphere. However, the quality of new buildings is a big problem. They're often pigeon boxes aligned to face whatever way gets maximum profits, and totally reliant on aircon. They should be built to take advantage of natural air cooling and optimal direction facing.

@goldengoose97 That works if your independently wealthy and don't need to earn a living... Otherwise just getting back and forth to your job could be a deadly experience in this heat... in the past 3 weeks we only had lows at night in the lower 60s upper 50s... The days were all above 80. ( High Desert temp differences)
Most of our days have been 90 + and 4 above 100...We have high humidity here so the thermometer says 100... but feels like 110 to 120... Imagine the seats in your car or working with out shade as most farmers still do... not all can afford those nice enclosed cabs with air-conditioning. and they keep working.
