- The Tiny Desk is working from home for the foreseeable future. Introducing NPR Music's Tiny Desk (home) concerts, bringing you performances from across the country and the world. It's the same spirit - stripped-down sets, an intimate setting - just a different space.

Declan McKenna and his band rock their Tiny Desk (home) concert. Their "home," in this case, is The Foundry, a neighboring studio in North London. Declan is decked out with glitter, channeling a more flamboyant side of rock than I've seen from him before. He's still immersed in complex storytelling with characters on the fringes, alienated for reasons of class and politics.
Three of the songs are from Zeros, his brand new album recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce. It's been a wild three-year ride since the release of his teenage smash debut What Do You Think About the Car? He's now 21 and leads a fiery, honed band that developed serious chops after a few years of touring; Isabel Torres (guitar), Nathan Cox (keyboards), William Bishop (bass), and Gabrielle Marie King (drums) all propel the songs of Declan McKenna.
For his Tiny Desk (home) concert finale, Declan performs his best-known song, "Brazil," a tune steeped in politics and sports, and the enthusiasm has him atop a tiny desk in the end.

They really let Declan come back a second time. This is a great comparison to how much he’s grown from the first tiny desk too.
Yep still great
His first one is one of my favorites. I had never heard of him before it, but he just captured my attention fully.
Great profile pic :)
Glitter and Declan has such a relationship
They really do have a great relationship 😂
Why is NPR on FIREEEE recently?!
Climate change, probably.
its always consistent your late to the party apparently....
I think it has something to do with artists being tired of not doing anything artistic and giving it all when they have the chance
Wilbore Because the bar was pretty low with marginal talent. Some of these recent artists are decent including this bunch but make no mistake, there are plenty of marginals showing up here.
I think its because its not at their studio but elsewhere where these artists already have their gear and crew ready to perform.
Zeros is definitely one of the best albums of the year!!! Can't stop listening
I've listened about 5 times a day most days😂
couldnt agreeMORE
Declan McKenna NPR 2:the deckoning
Delan McKenna NPR3: the McKoning
if it was a bad performance, should we call it: Declan Mckenna NPR2: the declanning?
I'm Screamingggggg hahahahahabbahabava
There are some songs that you just can't get tired of, "Brazil" is a good example of it, every time i listen to it it feels like the first time
does the drummer listen to girl in red?😳
ju yes.

Just imagine a declan + girl in red collaboration

Declan is so underrated and you can’t change my mind
I really wanted to hear:
"Eventually, Darling", "Emily", "Twice your size", "Rapture"...
YEAH, the whole album!
Emily is my favourite atm!! Honestly we do deserve to hear the whole album
and especially sagittarius a*!!
Why are people sleeping on ybb, best song on the album
@@3scrs334 YES
xo xo bruh sagittarius is the only bad song on the album
I remember hearing Brazil in a McDonalds a few years back, but never found out what it was called, I came across Brazil again last year and can't believe how much he has grown, zeros is honestly a masterpiece. honestly can't wait to hear more new music from dec
wow i wish i listened to brazil in a McDonalds
I first heard of McDonald’s in Brazil, funnily enough
I haven't seen anyone else comment it so:

4:17 - 8:41 The Key to Life on Earth
9:20 - 12:35 Beautiful Faces

Not one bad song from Declan. NOT A SINGLE ONE

Mind is kinda trash IMO but I see your point
@@rivaldealer__ umm WHAT- NO

Drums sound amazing. 🤩🥰😊
was looking for this comment to second it... drummer on point
App crashed earlier but came back just to say YES YES YES she is right on the money. Rock solid playing here. Watching it again now.
yes gabi is great
I've been closely following Declan's music for a while now, but it's so cool to have these two tiny desk shows to compare at such different points in his career. The difference between them is wild! Anyone whose only exposure to him was his first tiny desk would be shocked
😅
Love seeing a girl guitarist and drummer ❤️❤️❤️ they rocked it and
Of course the whole band
Declan ❤️most of all
0:00 - *Daniel, You're Still a Child*

Guy on keys sits so subtly yet presently in the arrangement
Waiting for Clairo’s tiny desk
The Key to Life on Earth is my song of the year so far.
The lyrics are insanely good. Like modern day Bowie good
What a beautiful version of "the key to life on earth"♥️😭
Is this "The End of the F***ing World"?
Omg
I just realized it is
Hahaha sure looks like it
lol that’s alex lawther
No.
Only a new beginning.
Jesus promised and prophetie are soon full yet 😉
Zeros is truly a masterpiece!!!
he's all grown up compared to his first tiny desk concert omg
I've been following Declan since 2015, and boy has he grown into such an amazing artist
insane. wish he would’ve played be an astronaut though.
he played it on the james corden show if you wanna see it
i had NO IDEA!! this was gonna happen and its a dream come true
This feels like a movie, because we already have a video of him doing this when he was more younger and now we have this
You don’t have any idea of how much i’m loving this right now ❤️
these teenagers owe the talking heads a check or three....
I HAVE NEVER PRESSED ON A VIDEO SOOOO FAST!
SAME😂
SAMEEEE
That stripped down version of The Key to Life on Earth is soooo cute.
Seen him at reading 2018 need to get back on a huge stage again his energy was madness
Please have Lorde on the show im begging
She needs to release new music first 😭
If nothing else this video shows how far Gabi's drumming has come in the past 5 years. Much more confident and creative!
Whoever tuned that snare deserves a raise
Why Declan is so perfect doing anything
Heard a track Isombard on FIFA 17...loved it. Did some research found out the name of the artist and here I am.....Amazing.
Same with me, but I saw a tik tok a few months ago with Brazil in it, and now here I am
it’s so funny and ironic how declan’s song ended up on fifa 17 since brazil aka his most popular song is literally calling out FIFA for destroying Brazil in the 2014 World Cup lol
I heard his song Brazil in the toilets at McDonald's and googled the lyrics straight after so I could download it on Spotify. I spent the drive home listening to it and since then I've been a huge fan. Isombard is definitely one of my favourites btw, such an amazing song.
i got brazil recommended on youtube a couple years ago when i was depressed in easter, i listened to his music for those four days straight nonstop and here i am now, i think I'm doing better now and declan is still on my headphones all the time
When he said this is Brazil I LOST IT
Glitter and Declan is the best combination on earth
I think we can all agree that declan mckenna...
When you see the tiny desk...
ive watched this twice but only just noticed it...
Zeros is the best thing that happened this 2020
Love the music, but kinda miss the true Tiny Desk stripped down feel, with minimal mics and gear
like a real live performance by real musicians playing music for real....
rob slover because what we saw was just 5 roombas playing music?
i mean i'd assume they'll go back to the original format once....y'know.....
Yeah, it's also not quite a full on sound as well
same! this doesn’t really fit the format.
I saw him open for another band maybe two years ago. He and his band were phenomenal. I don't even remember the headliner they opened for.
Why hasn’t this clocked a milli yet jeez louise
Would die to hear eventually darling
watching him and the band like this made me appreciate the album even more. this is very nice ✨⭐️
he's the best, so creatively free its beautiful
he’s the best honestly
omg you guys actually listened!!! i asked for dec, and here he is! brilliant performance as always, thanks guys at NPR
This guy deserves more recognition
brazil never fails to make me smile omg the power !!!
ahhh he’s so talented!! And he’s come so far from his first tiny desk!
I WATCHED HIS OLD TINY DESK YESTERDAY. GOD THANK YOU TINY DESK
THIS IS STUNNING HE’S SO UNDERRATED
I liked Zeros a lot so I was waiting for this!! Thank you NPR🥰
YESSSSSSSSS declan’s music is literally what’s keeping me sane during quarantine

Conheci esse cara (banda) apenas a alguns dias e estou amando as músicas dele!
Declan smashing it, as always! ❤️💜💙
Sounding ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS 🙌
This is extremely f'n awesome!! Im so impressed with these kids.. Tight, polished, original, interesting.. Im an instant fan.. Now i want to hear the albums.
zeros is an absolute masterpiece
had never heard of this band before so minimized the window without seeing how many views or likes it had... opened up the window and gave a thumbs up 3 mins into the first song... good McKenna good.
The drummer is sick! Killing it
I'm intriguied. There's something here, some quality that yells into the void to breathe easy. 💜
My eyes are blessed
When he finally played brazil i got soo happy. Sang through the whole song and couldn't stop jumping. 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆.
This was great!
I did not expect Brazil at the end I'm so glad! This performance is so good!!!!!!!
Beautiful faces faces and Brazil sounded especially amazing😍
I couldn't manage to get my hands on tickets because I didn't know at the time if the gig would just get cancelled as a result of covid. So it's really nice to see him doing concerts and live performances here on CZcams 💕 such an amazing artist, I'm gutted Zeroes didn't reach number 1 but for him to battle with the Rolling Stones for the top spot is such an achievement in itself. I'm proud of him and I can't wait to see what he does next
Tank you very much tiny desk great band en tank you very much to present many great musicians merci beaucoup
You’re welcome 😇
I Love Declan Mckenna! Thank's Tiny Desk 💙
