All ladies looked beautiful and regal and dignified and this is truly a treasure to have , only one thing i noticed in many photographs is that even ladies of royal families did not sit with knees together. I guess that came with the British and girls were taught how one must sit no matter what they are wearing. Now you will never see a girl /lady sitting or squatting with knees in two direction, its always knees together.

You gave a terriffic comment!!!! Thank you as a man I would have never thought in that way. I am a photographer and i was thinking all the people have extreme confidence in them and it made me realize it was a totally an awesome society back then. There is a possibilty that it could have been taught even earlier. During the Turkik invasions they committed countless atrocities on the women especially in the Northern part of India and that had continued towards the south perhaps to a lesser extent.
Once again, thanks to the creator for sharing these Valuable gems.

@@ranjittyagi9354It's not our tradition. Even these photos have some pictures of women with bare back(due to no blouse invented) and very tribal like culture. In our Village, a lot of grandmas don't wear blouse till date.
Culture of a place is their clothes, food, language and many other. Culture is a ever changing thing. Everything has a birth date and everything dies with time. Nothing is permanent .If that's so, then give up potatoes and tomatoes as it was imported here, not original. Give up smartphones as it's also not traditional. Give up vehicles.
Give up medicines. Give up all modern inventions.

There are women warriors too, like rani durgavati, rani abbakka chowta, queen chennamma. They were exceptional horse riders and sword fighters.
