In the Riddler's Reform episode of BTAS the reason he tries to kill Batman even though Nygma had a whole business selling Riddler merchandise was because he thought the only way he could end his fixation on outdoing Batman was by killing him.
Exactly! That’s the point! Eddie can’t stop himself. Now Paul Dini did something that I think was excellent with the character, basically turning him straight and making him a private detective. That was excellent, and shows one of DC’s greater achievements, the fact that their greatest villains can reform in some ways. Take for example Deathstroke. He started questioning the ethics of his work and even tried to form his own superhero team! Sure it didn’t last but at least he tried.

Anyway...I'm delighted that, despite the updates courtesy of time, most of these stories are actually among my Top 10 favorites as well, though often in a different order. I also want to say that I've never read "Riddler on the Move," but after seeing what you showed us and hearing you describe it, I'm going to need to do so soon. I'm 90% sure it'll be among my Top 10 after I do, though exactly WHERE in the Top 10 is difficult to say.
If Nygma is gonna be the main villain in The Batman, than I hope he at least looks like the Riddler, green suit and all. I don't like the outfit we see in the trailer. Although I can't fairly judge the movie since it isn't done yet, so I guess we'll have to wait and see, won't we.
Maldon 365 it’s not really that take on the riddler though, so it wouldn’t be a case of “getting the suit right.” It’s just what fits this version of the character.

Maldon 365 see this doesn’t make any sense because the riddler they’re portraying in this movie is not exactly like the comics. If he were, then it wouldn’t make sense to change his design. But because of the uniqueness of this version of the character, it wouldn’t really make sense for him to have the exact same design, although personally i do hope we see it in some capacity.
To be honest, when I first read Questions Multiply the Mystery, I couldn't help but feel a deep resonance with so many parts of Eddie's character. It's quite possibly the reason why Riddler has remained my favourite Bat-Rogue.
Zero year is one of my top favorite stories. Glad to see this on the list. I also liked when the riddler use to be a good guy and was a for hire detective. Also Thought it was a interesting take on the character.
This video really helped me, Riddler to me is Two-Face to you, he's my favourite fictional character and I got some excellent reading material from this
As my favorite Bat-villain, I think I was a great idea to have Riddler as a legit PI. Imagine him starting off as a detective that solves crimes, but Batman and Harvey Dent finds out Nigma is the one who sets them up to make him feel like a hero. That would be a great movie idea for him. At the end, Dent can become Two-Face to set up the sequel. I think Riddler deserves to be Batman’s arch enemy instead of Joker.
I imagine Query and Echo just don't have a unique enough design to set them apart from Riddler. And it seems Riddler is more professional with Query and Echo,, opposed to the toxic relationship Joker and Harley have. And it wouldn't FIT Riddler's personality if he did.
Only reason Quinn got so over is because of her relationship with Joker. I know she used to be a tragic character but now DC wants to make her more "independent" and keeps shoving her down our throats. She is more overrated than Joker himself!
Dark Knight, Dark City has always been my favorite. I love him being a bit more dangerous, willing to kill if it helps with his riddles. Not because he enjoys killing but just because the riddles are more important. I wish he had stayed this way. Shame it all turned out to be a demon, that was a cop out.

David Chalmers he’s never done a full review but he’s talked about it in his top twenty batman stories as well as his top five two face designs, just off the top of my head. I’m sure he’s mentioned things from it elsewhere but there’s no way i’d remember exactly.

If he could manage his OCD, accept that while he's smart he's not as smart as he thinks and give up his obsession with proving he's better than Batman he could be a good person.
I never read the demon-possessed Riddler story arc, so don't know how it ended, but in my minds eye, Nygma ought to have saved himself, out thinking, outwitting, and out-dealing the demon in his soul, tricking it in the end and making it the laughingstock of hell.
I love Zero Year and the Dini Detective Riddler but yeah the Batman confidential arc is probably the favorite big Riddler arc. I’m looking forward to the rest of these top 10s!
I've read The New Dawn storyline, and I really liked it. It made me appreciate the Riddler more. It had this buddy-cop vibe going on which was great. Also, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez's artwork is simply amazing. All thanks to you.
Ahhh yes! Top 10 Best Riddler Stories! I love it! The only one out of the list that I've read is Zero Year. And I loved that story! I thought it was great! And it was so awesome to see Riddler really push Batman to his very limits, despite Bruce only being Batman for a short time. And it was amazing to see Riddler actually outsmart Batman not once, but twice! They did an amazing job at showing us why Riddler is indeed Batman's intellectual equal. And I'm really excited to eventually get the chance to read all the other Comics on the list. And it's awesome that Penguin is next. You haven't done a Penguin video in a little while.

I've never understood the loser angle writers often take with the character. The guy is begging for a story like Moriarty in the episode "The Great Game" from BBC's Sherlock. Writer get stuck on him always leaving literal riddles rather than making the crime scene/s itself the riddle, riddles and answers Batman only realises were even there after multiple different crimes, and leading batman on a wild goose chase really pushing his detective skills.

I don’t have a large budget at the moment to purchase some of these, and since most of them are pretty obscure, finding them can be pretty tricky. Second, I have been watching all your videos for of course, enjoyment and also for a batman comic I am writing for my own pleasure to read and possibly others. It would include all of his “Rogues”, and fellow allies. With the big bad being in charge of a group of now forgotten A list crooks like the Scarecrow and BANE, to take down the head honchos of a now (even more) corrupt Gotham City. A older and more grizzled Batman must crack the case on who this mystery man is. No not the joker this time,but, spoilers Dr Death. Now stronger than ever with the injustice comics and games created power pills. So as my idol I ask you to give me advice for the idea, or just general feedback, thank you for reading, Beaky Boy Plushies
I know I'm no Mr. Rogues, but I have some advice and questions for you: How did Gotham end up being even more corrupt? Because if you go that route you basically have two choices, either Batman retired temporarily or he's somehow failed his mission despite his best efforts, the first is the easy one, while the second can go two ways, depending on execution, making Batman seem inept or overwhelmed by Gotham, by not being the hero the city needed. And honestly making Dr. Death the main villain seems like a brilliant idea, a forgotten rogue gaining some attention is most of the time a good thing, so you should try to focus on him, building the mistery around him, even if that means cutting down roles or even stealing the spotlight from other villains, to choose who stays, ask yourself what's the theme of the story and which characters help you to inforce it, twist it or subvert it.

I think option two is a great idea for Gothams further corruption. And I’m glad you enjoy the DR Death plot, it fits nicely with my theme of, well, death. Batman must reconsider his own morals after the chaos that has began once more in this future Gotham. Side note, for extra enjoyment, all the villains have growth. Penguin wants to feel the thrill of crime again, Scarecrow becomes Deaths right hand man to be feared once more. Riddler is such a delightfully arrogant villain.Out of those I have sadly only read Zero Year and Knightfall. Would you recommend his Batman Arkham collection?
I personally liked the forever evil tie in issue focusing on Riddler but aside from that story and the others you mentioned, the rest are very weak. DC did a poor job with the collection, same for Two face and Scarecrow.
What's next? Top 10 Catwoman Stories? Top 10 One-Shot Batman Villains? Maybe you should do a forgotten villain video on the Riddler's henchgirl, Query and Echo? I wander why you do this video, would've has something to do with the upcoming The Batman movie. Wasn't because of the Riddler being the main antagonist in the film?...

That's the sad part, he's one of the few Bat-rogues who could completely reform, but his obsessions get the best of him.
I love the riddlers apartment and the art on the walls. You could put that whole backstory and scene into a movie.

I have not read any of these Stories yet, however i might read a couple of these of now. Especially, the Fifth, Second, and First Stories.
I love Riddler. I always felt his character had a bit more room for exploration than the other more gimmicky villains like Scarecrow or Two Face.

Do you smell that my breatheran, do you hear that, do you see that, can you riddle that? But what is a riddle other than the best Riddler comics. I dunno, the Riddler will however nodought always be a great Batman villain, even if he has 80 million ripoffs. It is good however to see some more comic lists on the channel, I don´t wanna say anything bad about the Patient Sessions, but they were kinda getting to much overtime and I sadly didn´t care about them anymore after a while. May the Asylum always await new videos though, for some other time.
Great to see you again Rogues. I have read most of the stories except for the knightfall tie in and Dark city. Personally I do not like Dark city. Riddler acting like a murderous madman is not his style, even if he was possessed. Still, it is your list and I respect your choices.

Hi Mr Rogues, first of all, welcome back! Second, I have been watching all your videos for of course, enjoyment and also for a batman comic I am writing for my own pleasure to read and possibly others. It would include all of his “Rogues”, and fellow allies. With the big bad being in charge of a group of now forgotten A list crooks like the Scarecrow and BANE, to take down the head honchos of a now (even more) corrupt Gotham City. A older and more grizzled Batman must crack the case on who this mystery man is. No not the joker this time,but, spoilers Dr Death. Now stronger than ever with the injustice comics and games created power pills. So as my idol I ask you to give me advice for the idea, or just general feedback, thank you for reading,

I know I'm no Mr. Rogues, but I have some advice and questions for you:
How did Gotham end up being even more corrupt?
Because if you go that route you basically have two choices, either Batman retired temporarily or he's somehow failed his mission despite his best efforts, the first is the easy one, while the second can go two ways, depending on execution, making Batman seem inept or overwhelmed by Gotham, by not being the hero the city needed.
And honestly making Dr. Death the main villain seems like a brilliant idea, a forgotten rogue gaining some attention is most of the time a good thing, so you should try to focus on him, building the mistery around him, even if that means cutting down roles or even stealing the spotlight from other villains, to choose who stays, ask yourself what's the theme of the story and which characters help you to inforce it, twist it or subvert it.

I think option two is a great idea for Gothams further corruption. And I’m glad you enjoy the DR Death plot, it fits nicely with my theme of, well, death. Batman must reconsider his own morals after the chaos that has began once more in this future Gotham. Side note, for extra enjoyment, all the villains have growth. Penguin wants to feel the thrill of crime again, Scarecrow becomes Deaths right hand man to be feared once more. And Harley Quinn still is a deranged looney because she can’t get over the jokers death.Yep. He died. So thank you for your help

Top batman detective stories
Riddler is such a delightfully arrogant villain.Out of those I have sadly only read Zero Year and Knightfall. Would you recommend his Batman Arkham collection?
It has Riddle-less Robberies, his first appearence and a couple private eye Nigma tales. Other than that it's kinda crap. Several mediocre stories.
I personally liked the forever evil tie in issue focusing on Riddler but aside from that story and the others you mentioned, the rest are very weak. DC did a poor job with the collection, same for Two face and Scarecrow.
