Excellent video. Great pics. I feel like I can now take my entry level Nikon with factory settings and snap pics that will land on the cover of National Geographic.

"what gear do you use?" "oh, well.. I don't use the newest fanciest gear, I use the D5 and D850". that gave me a chuckle. considering thats about 9000$ in camera bodies.

The answer on tripods/monopods is typical of what Whites want to hear about Africa. The photographer keeps saying that: "I don't use them in Africa because they will keep hitting people, there's not enough space in the car, ...etc". The truth is that he would not use them anywhere else under similar circumstances and there are many places with similar circumstances. The Safari in Africa comprises of of places with many dangerous animals the photographer cannot set up gear outside; he has to remain inside the Safari car to shoot. The same thing would happen if the photographer went to a park in the US where dangerous animals lived, he would be restricted to phtographing from the car. So it is nothing to do with Africa but woith the laces he cooses to go on Safari. If I were shooting in my village, I would definitely use my tripod because there are no dangerous animals there. There are no dangerous animals in those hiking trails he goes photographing birds to in New York so he can use his tripods comfortably. Let him try that in bear land and let's see if he will live to make such comments again.
