he never sang the chorus, that was another dude. his actual singing voice in the other tracks of CHESS is rather....rough and coarse.
but hey he delivers his rapping parts live and with dedication, thats more than you can expect usually. he IS after all, more of an actor than he is a singer. i like how he still keeps singing along. he clearly enjoys himself.

not to mention there's clearly a reason he was not chosen to sing on this song.
I was 15 in 1985 and didn’t really like this song but it’s grown on me and now I really like it, maybe a one hit wonder but so what, it seems to have a cult following, which means it will age well and be remembered, great to see him still performing.
