It's sad how many times in season 1 it looks like Barry and Caitlin are building something than they just through in iris and Ronnie and ruin all those scenes

I Am Select I can't speak ill of Ronnie since he died and their chemistry was very real, but I agree that the writers dangled Snowbarry in front of our faces and just continued on with WestAllen. I know Iris is the comic book love interest and I'm glad they didn't completely f her up like they did with Laurel, but I also saw a lot of potential in Snowbarry. On the bright side, the CW writers would have ruined their relationship if they gave them a romantic arc.
I strongly disagree as Caitlin and Barry’s relationship always was and always will be platonic. It was exactly like what happened with Barry and Felicity. I think the two were too similar, and they were meant to just be friends. There is chemistry, there’s no denying it, but Snowbarry just won’t work. Barry and Iris were meant to be together, and I know a lot of people dislike her, but I think she is smart, funny, gritty, strong, and fearless. She and Barry need each other. After all, she was his child hood best friend and sweetheart. Okay I wrote a lot.
Luna Bar-Cohen Iris and Barry are like siblings they literally grew up together the team is hopeless without Caitlin they all of a sudden made her the “Boss” of literally a team she wasn’t even a part of at first we’ll actually for all I care she can be boss of anything but she needs to know her place

Barry saves her more emotionally while she saves him more physically if that makes sense.

@@bobbombar6711 Olicity isn't canon... if we're going by reasoning that "it's not canon", then Laurel and Oliver should've been the endgame couple instead of Felicity and Oliver. Truthfully I like Lauriver better but I also prefer Snowbarry over Westallen so it's kinda opposite to the shows haha

The thing that gets to me is how they constantly compared Barry to Ronnie. That REALLY seemed like foreshadowing for Snowbarry didn't it?
SimonDP I think in the first season the writers actually were setting up SnowBarry, and then they tried to backtrack in the second and third season and decided to push WestAllen. There were just too many hints for Snowbarry in S1 for it to be meaningless, and the Snowbarry moments in the next seasons are much more subtle.

Snowbarry for the win!!! Caitlin and Julian/Jay/Ronnie, Barry and Iris/Patty/Linda/Felicity will never compare to Snowbarry. I am not bashing the other couples all I am saying is that Snowbarry has an amazing friendship and would be amazing as a couple.

Why did he even marry Iris? 🙄 She's the Felicity of Flash. She takes credit where she shouldn't and blames others for her problems, and barely gets along with her own husband by season 4. CW obviously heads a problem with happy couples. I mean, Caitlin and Barry get along so well and would make a great couple. Thats what actually kinda annoys me about hardcore snowbarry shippers (Y'know the people that get mad in comment sections not just the normal shippers) because they do have an amazing friendship and getting mad that they aren't in a romantic relationship kinda disregards the amazing platonic relationship they have and makes it feel lesser.

Okay, I know noone is probably reading this, but I feel like Barry was more urgent in his search for Caitlin than he was during the numerous times Iris was in trouble. Because he took off without even talking to anyone else when Caitlin was missing, and wanted to do anything to save her, and with Iris, yes he was upset, I mean his best friend/crush is in trouble, but he talked out a plan before just taking off and saving her. IDK I could be completely wrong but this is what I see when I compare the times when Caitlin was in trouble, and whe Iris was in trouble.
And, in my opinion, more urgent and frantick in his search.

I thought all hope for snowbarry was gone, but guys think about it in the most recent episode not only did Barry see Iris dead but also we saw Savitar. I understand Thawne, as he killed Barry’s mother and daughter, but why Savitar? No zoom, no Devoe, bloodwork etc. the writers are foreshadowing Iris’ death, and Caitlin didn’t die in Barry’s nightmare.
After the the Frost Caitlin storyline is concluded, presumably with frosts death to save Caitlin from ALS, then Caitlin won’t have a storyline anymore.
And Iris’ death has to do with the speed force, based of the promotional trailers.
As well, if Iris wasn’t supposed to die then wouldn’t Nora come back, or Wally be able to at least see some form of Nora through the speed force.
Unfortunately Iris must die a noble death, in order to appease the fans and it will be to save Barry from what happened to him in the trailer.
Lastly, Caitlin hasn’t had a significant other in 4 seasons, 5 if you can really count Julian. The writers had plenty of opportunities such as Ralph, who wouldn’t impede on the KF storyline.
What does this leave us with in season 8, two individuals who have lost those who they care about, witnessing their fiends be happy(Cisco had Camilla, Joe has Cecile, and even wells had his wife, no one cares about Chester and Algera), being driven closer together. If season 8 is endgame( if they follow Arrow), then the writers will bring back old villans for a last hoorah, including Barry’s biggest fear in Thawne and Caitlin’s biggest fear in Zoom, driving them even closer together. Even if season 8 isn’t endgame then they will reach a similar conclusion: Snowbarry.
Also, some of you may say that if Iris were to die then then the end of the show would be them reuniting in the afterlife at the end of the show. however
A.) this is a carbon copy of Arrow’s plot
B.) the flash dying would leave team flash in shambles
C.) Barry promised that he would live on when Iris dies.
Barry can get over Iris’ death it will just take some time
