Yes tower survival finally
Volcano, hurricane, and tsunami/tidal wave are the 3 common weather/natural disasters I have yet to experience. I'm here in Utah and we just had that one back in March. I was woken up by the first wave and it felt like someone was being an a**hole and shaking my bed. Dozed back to sleep. First big aftershock did the same thing. That's when I the thought came, "Oh, this might be an earthquake. Maybe I should get up."
For the rest of the day, any little tremor felt like it was an aftershock, but you can tell mostly if the whole house/building you're in creaks/cracks all at once and it feels like the floor jitters a good solid half inch at least. I'm far enough away from the epicenter that I wasn't in any immediate threat, but yeah, it was quite the experience. As far as tornadoes, Midwesterners will scoff at my experience, but I've been in Utah for quite some time. I was here when one hit in 1999. Downtown. Just about every window on the Delta Center, now the Vivint Smart Home Arena, was torn off and thrown around. Utah's a bit weirder beyond Mormons and a salty lake.
I have a tiny town suggestion. Not for a disaster, but for oblivious grandma. She could be helping the homeless.

If you put both of them both on top of each other and turn them both on I think it would simulate it better. (Though I have never experienced an actual earthquake before so idk.) put the left-right platform on the bottom and the up-down platform on top of the left right

Biggest earthquake recorded is a level 9 from level 6 and up is a big earthquake.
Edit: also depends on the wave length. Longer travels farther but shorter means it’s more violent but it’ll still be the same level. So maybe the shaking one is a long wave and the bouncing one is a short wave.
